The problem with Pete Thorn's videos is that most of the time I feel like I want to buy the pedal, I realize what I actually want is to play like him, and they haven't made that pedal yet.
Hehehe.. in deed !! One gets romanticized by what HE can do/play with the gear...and one forgets that it will NOT be what we, ourselves, are able to do. That's why we can't watch too many videos like this. Go practise the instrument, instead 😊
Electro Harmonix POG 3 sounds amazing. Quite a versatile polyphonic octave pedal. One of my cats, came into the room while streaming. 😸 Thank you for posting this stellar demo. Cheers.
I like those pan pots. I would send left and right through different effects, and use those pots as sends for different voices... I wonder if thats possible....should be.
Hey! I play keys! Who’s going to play chords while you’re soloing? Actually, I can play chords AND solo at the same time. Do you want to be Eddy or Wes? Pick your lane, buddy! 😅
Just my opinion..... Helix added this in the 3.5 or 3.6 update. At first, I kinda got excited because 1, I've seen quite a few Guitarist with this on their board and always wondered what was up with it. When Helix added it, I gave it a shot for a couple of days. Needless to say, I've found ZERO use for this. Again, just my opinion. Just some way of using up DSP that could be more useful making the Looper longer than 40 seconds! It will be nice when Line 6 makes the Looper as long as the....and I won't write the full name, H-Rush!! Thanks for your always wonderfully helpful videos!
Unrelated to this POG, but I’ve got an Eleven Rack and I’m considering upgrading my recording computer and it got me thinking if I should be looking at upgrading to a better interface or is the eleven rack sufficient. I had a Profire 2626 and I swear it sounded completely different than the eleven rack. Eleven rack had a softer sound through the same speakers. I thought they were all supposed to sound the same? Everybody seems to point towards the uAudio Apollo Twin. What would I gain from getting that and running the eleven rack into that? Might also just start micing up amps.
I would be tempted to get one because it's very cool and sounds amazing but and I'm sure would be a lot of fun to experiment with but...here in Canada, with taxes in, it's a THOUSAND DOLLARS. No. Just...No.
I love their pedals. But, I don't think they are very sturdy! Their knobs are always falling off! I have a Pitchfork and it's great. I liked the attack feature.
I had a PitchFork I swore I’d never get rid of, but I moved it on for this. All the same features with zero hiss and midi recallable presets. It does a ton more also
You change pitch of note- but don't modulate it up and down it just stays at that changed pitch. And you blend that in with dry. Like micropitch from Eventide
Kinda cool how, with the octave down on a Strat neck, you almost get a Rage Against The Machine sound. Not just Tom Morello, but it's like you've got Tim Commerford on bass locked in to your playing. Great video, great playing as always! I really like the POG III, I'm just trying to decide if it's worth the price tag for as much or as little as I might use it. I'd love to pair it with a Strymon Lex for more organ-ish stuff too!
100 Total presets. Just 10 pre-programmed. I have it. It is fine with more blank canvas for this one as it is best to build up from scratch and make it your own in my opinion.
@@trebleboost7 Not all of us are programers. and like Strymon - Bigsky - Timeline - Mobius - Eventide H9 they come fully programed and then to tweak is a piece of cake.
Don't fire anyone
Just a little joke just a JOKE poking fun you know
Live a little my man it’s a joke and a fun thumbnail

I'm actually a keyboardist turned guitarist. It's true. Keyboards aren't needed the way they used to be.

Awesome effects! Electro Harmonix rules! 🎸🎹
Another great demo Pete - EHX just does it right.
Best reviews ever. All of your work is super helpful. Thank you !!
It’s definitely got the Pogness! They all have that chime. My OG is still cool.
That guitar.. lovely finish!
The eighties are back!! Nice Video Pete!
Hey Pete, Great Video! Really enjoyed the sounds of THE POG 3! Cool Tune!
Awesome job brother

Thank you #SantaPete. #Dangerous
...Might be cool to try to play all the parts to #Rush's #YYZ.
Brilliant review!!!
that opening jam is not petes usual hardcore rocking but twas cool/mellow/nice
Gary Numan indeed!
I’ll stick with my Octron!
Octron is a really cool pedal for sure.

the intro sounded so Gary Numan.
This may be a dumb question, but does playing low notes on guitar with the pedal running two octaves down run the risk of damaging a guitar speaker?
I wouldn't worry about it unless you were playing super Duper loud
@@PeteThorn thank you, Pete!
That change at :45 is so fucking cool!
Pete are you going to write a new song with the POG?

So which is the best in the market? this one or the previous Pogs or the Whammy DT or something else? :D
or ableton shifter vst on multiple tracks
Does it get you pawgs?
Will this my amp sound like a Dumble?

what is still chorusing

No POG with clean tones??
The first two I demonstrate are clean..?
As well as the swell chords I show at the end
@@PeteThorn yeah they sound swell

Also, the keyboardists in the comments taking "fire your keyboard player" seriously are cracking me up. 😂
Yes, for sure if you do octave down as well as dry, as well as a bit of one octave up it sort of sounds like that if you're using distortion
Can confirm, og pog into lex will make hours vanish 👀
The problem that it comes with only 10 presets. why ? Imagine big sky without presets ...

if its anything like the Pog 2, then there is one thing i'd like to say. Latency..
Jon Lord just turned over & vomited in his grave 🤮
Oh for chrissakes have a little fun every now and then will you, don't be such a stick in the mud
oh ok its designed for the deaf , i guess.why not a braile fingerboard on that slinger ?
my B3 wants to crush that thing.
To be fair, your B3 also wants to crush whoever tries to lift it
$650?😂
Versatile in the sense of being able to produce many different sounds all of them crap?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For example, you have a face only your mother could love! 😜
@@PeteThorn 🤗
Sorry these always sound like you’re playing through a POG..! Limited personality possibilities.
Well, what did you expect?

😂 EHX it still sounds cheap.
