Plus at the beginning of this series, they said they had been in their home in Barnes for almost 30 years. The writers must have thought the viewers were stupid. It should have been at least their 30th anniversary.
I don't like how Hester's character has developed over time. She can be unreasonably childish, bossy, and demanding. Poor William just rolls with the punches to keep the peace.
Mon dieu! I cancelled NetFlix & got into "George & Mildred," then "Fresh Fields!" I am so sorry this is the last of the seasons for this show! I'm such a big fan of AbFab & AYBS...what British 70s/80s series should I watch next???

Here are a couple I don't remember seeing on PBS Ever Decreasing Circles, The Good Life, and sense you like George and Mildred you may like Man about the House and then Robins Nest. G&M and Robins nest were spin off of Man about the house. I find a lot of my bbc shows by liking the actor then checking them out on IMBD you find more shows. Happy Hunting!
Try And mother makes three ,then the follow up series And mother makes five.Wendy Craig is the main star but Valarie Lush who plays Madam Remoleux in this series is in that too as the Auntie.Also try Bless this house,On the buses,don't drink the water ,a spin off from on the buses,,Terry and June,2 point 4 children,Porridge,Are you being served,there was also a spin off called Grace and Favour,That's my boy,Some mothers do ave em,Steptoe and son.Bless me father with Arthur Lowe from Dads army,he was also in a comedy called Potter.Cuckoo waltz,Sorry,To the manor born,The Brittas Empire, Red dwarf,Rising Damp,In loving memory,The Likely lads and also whatever happened to the likely lads.Just about all these series are on here in full and there are many many more but that lot should keep you going for a while :)
I do enjoy these fresh and french, but the writing for Hester in explaining words to kids who don`t understand is horrendous, and she became a teacher! how?

Bit of a continuity error, Hester & William celebrated 25 years of marriage in series 3 episode 6 of Fresh Fields.
This episode air in 1991. Didn't they have their 24th anniversary in 1984 (the original series)?
In the original series William couldn't speak French. I don't think the producers cared about being inconsistent.
