If somebody takes two days to snag a house out there is something sadly wrong I usually find the snag is down to who you are following Shit plumbers joiners wrecking houses has always Been a problem which is out of our hands We even have to walk round after the holy trinity cleaners I always recommend doing as much as possible when in the plot ie silver the pipes , have a final walk around with a spoon filler to avoid the obvious dents an bumps Usually on the stairs and kitchen sockets No avoiding snagging unfortunately If one site can keep you going stay on it pal
Here down in the Home Counties ..biggish 3 storey ,3 bedders with 2 en-suites and main bathroom, 13 doors and frames with really rough MDF architrave/skirtings and smooth finish doors😳 (3coats ) everything white £1600 . Impossible to do one quicker than 6 days and not allowed to spray anything.
Last 2 new builds I have painted, both on different sites. The agents do not like sprayers so been forced to go back on brush and roller. Im down atleast £80 minimum a day not using the sprayer so it shows its worth!
Love your videos mate, i don't even do new work anymore. Off subject what do you know about Brush Mate, mine have been going hard for ages ?. Keep the videos coming.
Its something to do with the chemicals in the bottles. They had to remove a substance as it was illegal or something. The liquid just does not work anymore
They’ve changed chemicals. I bought a load of the old stuff. Works fine. New stuff is ok, however, has trouble keeping Zinsser Cover Stain brushes soft.
That's criminal. I get £1300 for taylor wimpey's equivalent to that house with no mist coat and no doors. Our 2 bed flats are £750.....again, no doors and all white.
I got 1650 for a small 4 bed 2 story. No mistcoat with 10 doors. No doors hung when started so had to emulsion 2 plots then drop back to do the woodwork
It's been a while. Glad to see you're still on it.
Thank you for all the years of videos you've uploaded.
👌

That satin finish looks shinier than my gloss work. Something aint right there

You spray finishing the wood work first then covering up?

Do they say what it is about sprayers that they don’t like?
Nice to see a firm with high standards, i hate roller finish on woodwork.
Snagging your own work sounds like a good way to ensure high standards across the board.
Generally mate, it doesnt sound a bad deal!
Asylum seeker 😂 funny but true 👍

Get the one with the metal lid. The orange plastic lids are too flimsy and let air in

I don’t use them waste of money 💵 put them in a kettle of water 💧🕯️🐝

@@rich8994 just use cellulose thinners. Tenner for 15l does the job
God forbid you have to be responsible for your own standard😂
That’s the same shit Decorer try to pull
Where I’ve just left £750 to £800 for that plot tops
Too low don’t do anymore
£750/800 Jesus Christ lads have been taken for mugs doing them for that price.

That's shocking, l would look elsewhere if possible.
However needs must l suppose

Snag 🤔
Just up the attention to detail 👍🏼
Orange peel effect on frames with roller looks shit with satin or gloss
