I'm still hopeful there is life in the old Micra yet, even if she doesn't make Rustival 2. Like you say, you only get one first car (and i sadly killed mine)
Morning both, that needs a good dose of fuel injector cleaner through it the Micra tends to suffer badly from the fuel system gumming up when left for a long period of time ,if Pete has an ultrasonic cleaning bath it would prove beneficial to remove and soak the injectors in liqui Molly injector cleaner whilst running the ultrasonic, they are only held into the fuel rail by a couple of screws each but the screw heads are JIS so you will need the correct screwdriver to undo them without chewing up the heads good to see you bring it back to life .
Hi Jon and Pete a great video as ever and glad to see the micra coming back to life I did wonder if the idle control sensor or valve was playing up and also a combination of the old fuel and maybe fuel filter or system being gummed up from standing as others have said looking forward to next instalment hope you are all keeping well Daniel
Sad the Micra has so much rust , It looks pristine from the outside also Daisy Cat 20 years old ! thats amazing hope she keeps going strong for many more years
You should make some T shirt to fund the project something like "Nissan K11 Micra Sport: Keep the faith" you'll get there. Before or after Rustival. All the best!
Like the other chap said, I'd change the fuel filter Maybe even run it out of fuel while you are doing that and put some fresh fuel into the spark plugs to see if it is the old fuel making it run like that.
Having only ever driven a k10 & k11 1.3 Micra I'm curious about how bland a 1 litre version would be. My ole Dad (78) advised against it when we got our 3 in the 90s
Do you think it needs a new fuel filter? Or would that just be a waste of time because it would instantly get clogged again? Also why was it parked up originally?
It's a possibility (and actually there is a video coming tomorrow morning you may like ;) ) - I parked It up because I met my wife and she didn't like it 🤣
Surprised you used Redex... generally regarded in the trade as cheap rubbish ? Something like Forte would be better, and supermarket fuel doesn't have the clever branded additives !
Can't be doing that with no MOT, not tax or No Insurance ... It needs recommissioning first and foremost - brakes overhauled, oil changed, coolant change etc 😊👍

I'm not giving up on it just yet 😊
It looks like it was polished and waxed recently! Worth saving, looking at the history ❤
It looks good from a distance and good on the camera but it's not as good as it looks ... Yet ;)

Good idea! Would like to start to get some merch made :)
Nissan once made great cars, like the Micra. Now they make, let's follow the crowd SUV things sadly.
I agree 😔

This one used to perform well. It certainly wasn't slow!
Poor museum micra

@@JonCoupland I watched it, it was good! Ah, Mrs Jon Coupland doesn't know a good car when she sees one! 😂

Gotta work with what we have John 😊👍
U keep going on about the fuel you need to get in it and drive it 🤷🏽
