Thank you very much. This video is saved on my phone. I go to it every time I want to change my timer settings. Very easy to follow. Now, I just reset my timer to a shorter time to prepare my holiday cacti for blooming (with shorter daylight time). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much I just bought this timer and could not fix it for my grow light. Seeing the title of your video I wished to be able to program it and I did !!! THANK YOU
Thats whats nice about these timers with multi-mode. Set mode 1 to 18 hrs daylight with 6 off for regular growth then when its time change to mode 2 where you have it set to 12 hrs daylight with 12 hrs darkness for flower. They are great timers! Thanks for the video.
Really helpful: makes way more sense to set the timer in 24 hour mode, when set in the 12 hour mode you could not tell if you say for example: set the timer to come on at 9am and off at 9pm, there is no am/pm option for on/off times , only am and pm for current time, but say for example you set the timer to 24 hour mode and then set the on/off time in 24hour time 09:00-21:00 there is no confusion about what is am and what is pm. If you want the timer to come on at the same time as shut off time example 9am on 9pm off and you don’t use 24 hour mode the timer will turn what is plugged into it on, but never automatically shut off what’s plugged into it because it thinks that your on and off times are both am or both pm.
Yeah they should’ve allowed the option to change AM/PM while you’re in program mode and that would’ve cleared most problems people have with programming.
Thank you for the video. In the military we refer to the time before 12 as Zero-# “0600 would be Zero Six”. 12 and above is referred to in the hundreds, “2200 would be 22 hundred”. Just sharing 😃
Hi, how would you set up the different program times on the same outlet, for example, I want some of my lights to turn on from 5pm - 9pm on program 1 but I also want a different set of lights to come on from 9am-9pm on program 2. Would you be able to do that with all the light plugs plugged into the same power brick? Or would I need to purchase a second timer?
I'm pretty sure you can if it's indoors. This timer has 20 programs with on and off options in each program. So you can set those on and off for every day of the week.
Hi, how do I turn the timer off for certain days of the week? For example.. I just need Monday, Wednesay, Thursday and Sunday. How do I adjust it to not go on on tuesdays, fridays and saturdays?
You can use the Program button. It has 20 programs, so you can set the first program for Monday, when it will go on and off, the second program for Wednesday, the third for Thursday, and the fourth program for Sunday. If you set the time when the timer will go on and off on those four days, it won't turn the light on on the other three days. I hope it makes sense.
@@millsfamilygardening2634 Thanks so much! I have since realized that the battery within the unit is rechargeable so just plug it in for a while and voila!
I'm pretty sure this is the one we bought. www.amazon.com/Digital-Programmable-CANAGROW-Electric-Grounded/dp/B07VRNMJVG/ref=mp_s_a_1_89_sspa?crid=3NSKUKJ79YCTU&keywords=outlet+timer+for+grow+lights&qid=1647979497&sprefix=outlet+timer+for+grow+lights%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-89-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFGQ1A2Q1gyRTA5NU8mZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAyMzg5MzBPRk9TUDU4UlRPT0EmZW5jcnlwdGVkQWRJZD1BMDYyNTc5MDFDMTRRNktLRlFHTUEmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
The timer will do it 20 times a day as there are 20 programs per day. It won't do more than 20 programs though. You'll have to have a second timer with the second set of lights. Hope it helps. Thank you.
The paper instructions for this timer might as well be written in Chinese. I have tried to follow them but it's too confusing. Maybe it's my brain idk but all the days of the week seems like overkill. It's a dang grow light timer! It should be mechanical. And not safe for damp environments? What are we growing? Cactuses?
Was our video helpful in sorting it out, or is there a question we can try to answer? We had trouble getting started with our timer too. Hang in there!
@bradjohnson8315 if you are setting up the lights at night and want them to come on at 6am, then set the mode to Off first and right after that to Auto, that is after you've set up the timer completely. If your lights come with their own switch, make sure it's On. Hope it helps.

Ahhh! Good to know. Thank you for the tips. :)
Do you leave it at Auto On or Auto Off to initiate your program
If I set it up during the day when the lights should be on, I leave it on Auto On.
Great video! I love your voice by the way :)
Thank you!
Will this work for smaller grow lights that have the auto off function?
If you can turn off their auto function and just keep them on all the time, then a timer will switch them on and off.
@@millsfamilygardening2634 thank you!

You'd need a second timer for that. This timer won't work with several sets of lights. Thank you.
Can we set this for pump for example 15 minutes on 45 minutes off?
I'm pretty sure you can if it's indoors. This timer has 20 programs with on and off options in each program. So you can set those on and off for every day of the week.
Yea I have the same question.
Can’t find any info on this

@@millsfamilygardening2634so I can split the days across multiple programs and it will run all of them?
does it have to be plugged in to be programmed?
At first, it does. But then it works for a while even being unplugged.
@@millsfamilygardening2634 Thanks so much! I have since realized that the battery within the unit is rechargeable so just plug it in for a while and voila!
This video was a godsend. Instructions that came with the timer were useless. How you figured this out is a mystery to me.
I'm so glad it was helpful!
How would you do 18 hr on 6 off ?
Program 1 on would be 18 hrs, and program 1 off would be 6 hrs.
I set mine for 18 on and 6 off but it doesn’t come on or turn off at the right time what am I doing wrong
Did you set the clock correctly?
What timer is this
I'm pretty sure this is the one we bought.

The timer will do it 20 times a day as there are 20 programs per day. It won't do more than 20 programs though. You'll have to have a second timer with the second set of lights. Hope it helps. Thank you.
I did this and have mine set to 7days a week. Off at 8:00 and on at 12:00 and it does not turn off at 8.... vivosun has very low quality products.
I'm sorry yours isn't working. Mine's been working great for almost three years.
1. You probably could've set it to 12hr time 2. You can hold on to the button to speed cycle through the options 3. Does the lights have a switch?
