Ahhhh....Joey Renolds....His antics and voice are burned into my brain. I recall how he played "The Kind of Boy You Can't Forget" by the Raindrops for a half hour solid. He WAS out of control...but it sure was fun !
I once set a crowded restaurant's jukebox to play Bob Dylan's "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" ("Everybody must get stoned") ten times in a row. It was hilarious to see people's reactions, but my friends hustled me out of there after the 6th play, because they thought we'd get killed if anyone figured out who did it.
I can't believe this is on RUclips. I came looking for it today -- after 50 (!!) years because I have a mouse in my house. Really. Thanks to whomever posted it (and to the guy who wrote it). And of course to Joey Reynolds & Dan Neaverth.
I've got the single in my record stash. Fantastic that it's here. There weren't any cell phones or internet back then, but there was always Joey and Danny on the air waves. That's all I needed with my transistor radio.
Fantastic flash back to the nights listening to KB from the Niagara frontier from distant Maryland. Friends and I were card carrying members of the R.O.N.P. (Royal Order of the Night People). Thanks for the memories.
For a while Joey worked on WIBG, a Philly AM radio station. This was back around the mid sixties. He was a riot here. Eventually they had to let him go.. he was out of control. I'll always love Joey Reynolds.
I listened to WIBG in upstate New York in the 60s. On 990 AM they came in very well. The best AM radio was the late 50s and 60s. There is no doubt about it. Engineer Dave Schneider
To Daffy Dan, Hope you enjoy your wonderful life, at least as much as you have given joy, fun and laughter to all of us millions of fans up & down the eastern seaboard. I was the little kid downstairs from you on Keppel St in Bflo, before you became famous. I went to broadcast school, because you were my idle. I wish you all the very best, and hope to hear you on the radio, when I visit Bflo again. Live long and prosper. Elmer Fudd.
Did you have a R.O.N.P. (Royal Order of the Night People) Joey Reynolds card ? I did. And I put wax on my dial to as to lock it onto KB, because if I "was a dial twister, I would get a K-Big blister".
It was on the Swan label, sung by Reynolds(Joey, currently on WABC 770 every Sunday night) Neaverth, and Cupola. The music was by an 'Ali Babba and Four Thieves'. Recorded in early 1963, probably in Buffalo or Canada. By the fall of 1963, this was a hit song. Both DJ's played it all the time, and you could pick up WKBW and Joey throughout all the northeast and midwest.

Good ole WKBW, the bestest!
I was just singing this to my husband a few days ago, he thought I made it up!

I remember when I was a kid my older brother had clock radio that looked exactly like the one that starts off this video.
