SAME SAME SAME however I’ll give them some credit and say that to me they had a slight bit of chemistry in season 1. They weren’t half as bad as they were in season 2. I was kinda feeling them with the whole “you’re my true north thing” in season 1 but I still always believed Darklina makes a better couple.
i loved Mal and Alina in the books, but damn, poor Mal in the series, he ain't got nothing on Ben Barns XD their chemistry is always just too powerful haha watching the series I was hoping for the Darkling to get a redemption and become the end game haha i'm so sorry Mal XD this was gorgeously done. getting all their complex emotions into one edit!

If there is 3rd season without him, I am not watching.. They should give him a chance, to be reborn and cured from what merzost did to him. The logic is that he would return cured and help her when she has her dark moment, trying to fight shadows inside her, because actually he was right and she is so much like him, she also went too deep into embracing power, not a good, naive Alina anymore..
Same, I can't watch it without the Darkling. Especially Ben Barnes playing him, I mean the fact that the fans chose him for this role just says it all. The ending absolutely destroyed me so yea, I'm gonna give it a miss.

This cover is haunting. I haven't watched the show yet but I love seeing different edits with them
I want a tragic romance:
-Alina gets slowly more dark, by being faced with difficult choices
-Darkling gets resurrected, and becomes slowly more good, from his love for Alina (but she keeps pushing him away)
-season 3 ends with the Darkling sacrificing himself to save Alina and the world
-she admits she loves him, he dies at peace in her arms - the end.
Let's all admit this is the best poetic ending, and works best with the plot so far 💘

Mal and alina were destined... But darklina found each other in a way that nobody could have ever anticipated
I love the show , I love the cast
But I do feel like the writers could've kept a little of that empathy alina had for aleksander even at the end of season one . This season, alina was full-on angry, full-on hate towards him , i just needed a little empathy, they couldve written a little empathy in the last scene 💔 ,couldve added some layers to her character

NAH WTFF I WAS JUST DONE CRYING OVER HIM 😭😭 THIS IS FUCKING INCREDIBLE. He was the reason why I watched it and I absolutely bawled my eyes out when he died. I mean the CHEMISTRY that the Darkling and Alina have is insane. You cannot give me a boy of darkness and a girl of light and tell me that they don't end up together, it literally makes no sense like wth, that's one thing I'm angry at towards Leigh Bardugo and the second is not exploring The Darklings character. There's literally so many layers to him, and they start to come off when he's with Alina, but what do they do next? They kill him off. Wtf. I'm not being funny I don't think I can watch the nxt season without Ben Barnes as the Darkling tbh, I really can't. 😤
If they do another season, I agree it won't be the same, but i think the darlkling has gone completely now as a character, alina is going to probably succumb..

Apologies I didn't mean any SPOILERS, I have read the first book and I'm also unsure to carry on reading, they do have immense chemistry without a doubt, they could do a spin-off based around general Kirigen/the Black heretic but I can't see this happening with Netflix- he did eventually love her but did it in all the wrong ways, by using the cut on morozovos stag-her amplifier he in a sense made her his serf, if he had asked she would have given and become his equal -but who knows -it is down to Linda Burdago how Netflix carries on after season 2. xxxx

The actress that plays alina actually said in one of the interviews she's a huge fan of ben barnes, and had posters of him at one point in her room so their chemistry is probably better because of that but i definitely ship 😮💨😮💨 and the "make me your villian" such chills and told her the truth without directly telling her 😬

Thank you. I couldn’t even with their scenes. I just skipped them because they were agonizing to watch. They had good chemistry as friends in season 1, but season 2 just no. The writers tried so hard to put them together. Season 2, first episode, they gave us the cliche 1 bed situation, and a kiss right off the bat. The relationship was very forced and there wasn’t any relationship building from friendship to romance. She was with Darkling all majority of season 1, and even removed the sentimental scar her an Mal shared because she no longer cared about those feelings, and only about the Darkling. But then she switches back to liking Mal in less then a day.
I still love mal and Alina tg😭
