  • Come with me as I take you through an "ideal" day in my life as a work from home lawyer. Although I love content creation and having fun... unfortunately, that lifestyle doesn't (yet) pay my bills which include hefty student loans from law school. 😅
    So, I still work a normal lawyer job as a corporate attorney from 9-5pm. But I am blessed to be working fully remote and as a contractor at an amazing Fortune 500 company!
    I'll walk you through my morning workout routine with my gf, to daily meetings and assignments for my clients, and how I end the "work" day and transition into the evening RUclipsr life.

      Hi there! So glad to hear this and wishing you all the best on the LSAT!! It's really cool to see pre-law students that already know (or have a sense of) what practice area they want to go into. You're ahead of the game already 😊

    Thank you for sharing your day. I graduate in April and plan on taking the July 2024 California Bar Exam. Any suggestions on how to choose an area of law? I am naturally drawn to criminal defense, but corporate law and real estate also seems very interesting.

      Hi there! Wishing you all the good vibes and best of luck finishing your final year of law school! In terms of choosing an area of expertise, if you're drawn to a particular area (such as crim defense), I'd suggest you try to get an internship or clerk at a crim law firm so you can gain experience and see if you like it. If it's not for you then you can always go broad like working at a general civil law firm so you can learn litigation and how the courts work.
      This is especially helpful in your first couple of years as a junior attorney as you get thrown into the fire and are forced to think quickly on your feet -- which will inevitably shape you to become a better all-around attorney and have thicker skin. Then, if you want to branch out to corporate law or go in-house, you'll have the real skills of an attorney and litigator and is a much easier transition then going the other way around (i.e., in-house to litigation).
      Best of luck! You got this.

    Good Afternoon, Denise:
    I hope this message finds you well. Though I am unaware of the state where your legal practice occurs, California paralegal educational requirements hold a baccalaureate degree; while the fields acquisition remains in considerations antinomy, ecumenical paralegal employment acquisition requires the candidate to obtain a baccalaureate degree. Why is this, especially when paralegal certifications arise?
    Any information held on the topic above would be appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Cole

    How much do you get paid for a role like this if you don't mind answering with a range if you don't want to be personal? It would be helpful for me.

    • @SwaggyEsq
      @SwaggyEsq  Месяц назад

      Depending on how many years you’ve been practicing, for me I’m right around the 4-5yr mark as an attorney. The range for me as a California attorney is between $150k-200k.

      It’s hard to get an in-house counsel job as a first year attorney. Not impossible but those employers are looking for attorneys with previous in-house experience. Or at the minimum attorneys who come from law firms and can switch over laterally. I would suggest interning while you’re in law school so you can get your foot in the door at whatever corporate job that interests you the most!
      Wishing you all the best in your legal career 🙏🏼❤️ you got this!
