  • Hey all, Welcome back to our travel adventures. We are Hannah and Jeremy, and Henry, with the Savory Suitcase.
On this weeks video, we are headed into Northern Georgia to visit Amicalola falls state park with a very unique Airbnb stay right outside the park.
But first, what would a road trip be without a stop at the world famous Buc-ees?
Buc-ees have only recently started popping up outside of Texas and opening in Georgia in 2020, It is always a madhouse, but this day was especially crazy due to the holiday travel.
We made our way the rest of the way up through Georgia, passing through Atlanta and arriving in the outskirts of a little town called Ellijay.
During the 1970s, geodesic domes were built for backyard fun, and DlY versions of geodesic homes grew in popularity.
This one was built in the early 80s and features tongue and groove pine walls & celings and an open floorplan with a view of Amicalola. Recently restored and furnished with mid century modern pieces, calling back to when the domes began to grow in popularity.

Greatly enjoyed your video, despite shivering while watching the frigid views. Of course you must know that this area is the start of the famous Appalachian Trail. If you didn't want to climb the falls, then I'm glad you didn't attempt the trail. It's a mere 2,000 mile of suffering and beauty. Back when my son an I did about 120 miles of the trail, He was about half the age that his son is now, so, no, I wouldn't attempt the trail now either. Thanks again for sharing your adventures.

Haha only a mere 2000 mile! Jeremy did a section on the Appalachian trail when he was in boy scouts and I think its always been a found but exhausting memory lol
