Doina Fleanta: legendary teacher's 42-year teaching journey

With a teaching career spanning more than 42 years, Doina Fleanta has mentored thousands of teachers across the world. Her journey began as an English teacher in Romania, where she first connected with the British Council in 1992.
Doina played a crucial role in establishing the Teaching for All programme which has trained over 2,000 mentors in Romania. In 2007, she co-founded the Association of Mentors in Romania for sharing best practices and success stories among educators.
Doina has trained mentors in countries like Chile, Rwanda, Nepal, and Kazakhstan, and continues to collaborate with us in delivering trauma-informed teaching courses for Ukrainian students in Romania.
