DIY art sculpture | Common crane inspired bird sculpture | Abstract rusted sheet metal origami

A sheet of steel that had been standing outside for about a decade got into my hands and I decided that I have to make something out of it. So I sketched some ideas onto paper and made a few models in Fusion 360 to test the looks. Eventually I chose this common crane shape as the best option because the amount of metal was limited and I wanted the sculpture to be as high from the ground as possible. Then a lot of cutting with my angle grinder and some welding was a good part of my summer holiday.
