- A quick stop for an early morning session before work.
Water was not the best for spinning so Lionel made the call and changed over to dropshot.
Some good laughs as he was in work attire and tried avoiding the water at all costs lol
Couple blacktails, pamphlets and a decent-sized fish lost which ran him straight into the reef
Knowing where to throw and when is of the utmost importance when dropshot fishing.
Lionel covers this in detail in this episode
These #Quickies are becoming a hit among anglers and growing #TryIt
What is #Quickies
Usually unplanned and whilst on the road, we stop at fishing spots along the way to fish for an hour.
We generally fish before heading to work, on our lunch breaks, or after whilst heading back home.
The whole idea of these videos is to showcase the fishing spots along our coastline, what one can catch during the season, how to catch, or what we use to get them catches.
Note most of our #Quickie trips are around an hour, so the videos uploaded are more realistic unlike a several hour/day trip videos to get couple minutes footage 😉
If we can, anyone can

Nice. Simple fishing. I fish there when i was young long ago. Bringing back memories
Perfect way to start a days work 👍
Wow!!! Awesome Videos. I live in JHB now, so these keep me going and up to date so I can make the most of it when I visit family in Durban.
I never knew you could catch blacktails with a lure. Do you let the lure sit on the ground and then jerk it up each time?
Hi bud just above to prevent getting snagged
nice video, got on some fish , zero pollution.
Brilliant content, Lionel! I fish vicariously through you from up here in Pta. I see you focus on the area from Dbn and North. Do you ever go South? When we visit the South Coast, we normally fish from Stiebel Rocks down to Palm Beach near Port Edward. I'd love to see you show some great spots like these in that area!
Tight lines!
Mike
Thanks for the support... It all depends where I travel with work.. my sessions are very short during a lunch break or a quick morning stop or as im passing by
@@FishingDBN Thanks, Lionel. I'll keep an eye out for your South Coast spot videos! When one goes to the coast once a year, one can't afford to blank! I have to wait a whole year to try again!
Dropping in there over December/Jan. Maybe we can hook up for a quick session!
Nice vid Lionel.
You should try the CID couta casting pink spoon, the natal snoek love them.
Nice way to start the day with some beautiful sea salt spray in your face

Hi sir the setup is mentioned in The discription
@@FishingDBN ohhhh dam lol wat you think of the epixor 9ft and 10ft ? are they realy discontinued
To heavy for this application
@@FishingDBN but for cob and garrick it should be good
Yep for heavier weights and species
Hi buddy that was not a moony that we called a pamphlet fish we used flying ants to catch them new Zealand
In South Africa the common name for this particular species is Cape Moony (scientific name is Monodactylus falciformis). We also get the Natal Moony (Monodactylus argenteus) which is also very similar but has a dark colour band through the eye
What species were the last two caught?
Palmphlet
What size jighead is that?
1/8 and 1/4
