Can there be a better tribute for a mother? I can't imagine. I am sad for another reason. These beautiful matchboxes, which used to be a steady presence in my childhood have now become a rarity. I've seen the men in my family flick a light for their smoke from several matchboxes like these. I used to collect them for a while until modernity took over and they were huddled into a plastic cover as garbage and set ablaze with a lighter. I've lost myself in imaginary worlds built from the pictures in those matchboxes, just like the grandma and the cat. It was a good way to lose track of time.
I was watching one of your old interview , you said that younger generation is much more towards 3d animation , true , but I am very much looking forward to classical animation (right now practicing fundamentals) , i hope i would become a expressive classical animator , i love that energy in manmade lines , i hope in future we meet and someday when i am able we will discuss work!
This is one of the finest things I have watched in a while. This movie was so layered, multiple messages in each and every frame. And to top all of that, what brilliant animation ❤
I have this film in my collection since 2007 and I have shared it with all my friends. Simply superb and a masterpiece!! The film is an animation film shot at human eyes angle ! The end is very touching! My father had a good collection of match box covers and he donated it to some other collector.

Lovely film...loved the way you captured the essence of each character, the way various ambience were created , the way routine was shown , the interiors and not to forget the use of music everything in this film was so amazing Too good!!

this is so wonderful! actually i'm also disappointed in our Indian audience too. Because of lack of appreciation for animation, our country is far behind in that aspect and people who love animation can't watch their own best homeland animated series and i bet a lot of animators are dying to show their work in our own country like me. Well, i'm not actually an animator but i'm working on my series. My dream is to represent india's true beauty to the whole world and make our indian series famous in the whole world like japan and america. A lot of indian writers have many good stories but waiting for a chance to show it
