You start by saying "former Queen of Sweden" - not correct as she was a Queen of Sweden until her death.

Another interesting video. Louise had more than her fair share of disappointments but, she persevered and certainly came through and did good work. She may not have been considered “beautiful” but I think those Mountbatten looks are quite attractive. Just take a look at India Hicks! She has the same long face and high forehead and is positively stunning. Thanks for giving Louise some attention.

It seems the relationship between her and Gustav VI Adolf’s only daughter, Princess Ingrid, later Queen Ingrid of Denmark, remained frosty for the rest of their lives. Queen Ingrid was only ten years old when her beloved mother passed away due to an ear infection.
Her mother’s death greatly affected the young princess. Apparently Princess Margaret had been a very warm, loving and hands on mother, and the new stepmother was allegedly perceived as being cold and distant.
Queen Ingrid was a very popular Queen of Denmark, devoted to her husband, three daughters and later all her grandchildren.

I was saddened when I read Louise's only child, her daughter, was stillborn. Louise led an interesting life before and after her marriage. Gustaf Adolf was lucky to have 2 wonderful women as his wives (and they all share a grave).
Princess Margaret of Connaught (15 January 1882 - 1 May 1920) was the first wife of Gustaf Adolf of Sweden. She was the eldest daughter of Prince Arthur, the third son of Queen Victoria. Margaret and Gustaf Adolf had 5 children (1 daughter, Queen Ingrid of Denmark + 4 sons - Prince Gustaf Adolf, the father of Sweden's current King Carl Gustaf; + Princes Sigvard, Bertil + Carl Johan). Margaret was 8 months pregnant th her 6th child when she apparently contacted measles, which caused ear issues. She underwent 2 operations but died of sepsis (blood poisoning). Margaret's death was tragic for her, her baby, and her family.

Except the catholic royalty & the Dutch RF are only distantly related to Victoria.

Very Interesting Video...Thank you for this. However, I'd have liked you to have named the children of Adolf Gustav...for clarification and her position to Carl Gustav the present King.

I think this is probably a cultural differense, but It is a very strong tradition for men to not show their personal feelings in public in Scandinavia, in historical times it was seen as lack of self control, så it could be the reason he did not do so.

Queen Louise was the first cousin once removed from Crown Princess Margaret. Margaret was the grandaughter of Queen Victoria of the UK, and Louise was the great grandaughter of Victoria.
