You don't know me. I don't know you Starburst, but you made me so happy today. To see you summit Whitney and be so, so happy...... that put's a huge smile inside me that comes to me every time I see a notification that you have another video up here. I hope you know how much the "Starburst Army" supports you..... You are such a positive force in this crap filled world, we need an army of YOU. When you are done with the PCT, if you ever need a boost, all you need to do is go back and look at all the comments here that show you the love you have earned. You just rock.
Oh! God! I just lost it when he told you he was scattering his dad's ashes! Thanks so much for this glorious footage - just spectacular and warmest congrats on summiting!! Well done, you!
You are such a badass! You will never hear the words “Mt. Whitney” again for the rest of your life and not be transported back to the day you had her to yourself for an hour. I’ll say it again...badass! Thank you for sharing your adventures...
One of the most exciting and emotional videos ever made at the PCT. When you have a difficult day, you come back here to watch it again to recover the joy it transmits, because of the passion and happiness concentrated on the top of a mountain. It shows us and reminds us, only what is most important, everything that is most important. Thank you.
Starburst my daughter wants to follow in your footsteps to hike the PCT in 2020. She suggested watching your videos to understand what she will experience. I watch every one...you are an inspiration. This video especially made me so happy. Your spirit is contagious. Your dad will never forget the call you made today to wish him Happy Fathers Day!
Third time viewing this episode and it is one of my favorites! I love your channel and I keep revisiting it from time to time. You are such a Force of Nature! With such wisdom and compassion. I hope Mowgli made it!
What an amazing summit experience !! So cool. The story about Mowgli too- so moving - I (embarrassingly) cried a little while eating lunch at work yesterday watching this one. Such a beautiful moment. Thanks
You are a beast Starburst! I got emotional with you. What a dream....the ONLY person at the summit of Mount Whitney. I'll never be able to do it, but I am living vicariously through you. Love your spirit.
Great job Starburst! There are a lot of people on youtube hiking channels but your enthusiasm separates you from most others. Thanks for sharing and motivating those of us watching at our homes and offices!
The most emotional episode so far. Brought tears to my eye twice. 1) When you talked about the guy going to spread his dad's ashes, and 2) when you were on the summit and the joy emanating from your entire body. Did the man ever reach the top to spread the ashes? Congratulations are a tremendous achievement!!!
Still working my way through your PCT journey. This one gave me goosebumps at the sheer beauty of nature and the powerful emotions you had in experiencing it. What an absolutely beautiful part of the world and you owned it on your summit hike! You have inspired and brought happiness to a lot of people through bringing your adventure to the world and are living proof that your dreams can become a reality. You just have to make it happen. To use your words, you are a force of nature, Jen.
Not only were you the only one atop Whitney, at that moment you were the highest person with feet on the ground in the entire Lower 48. I summited from the west side on Sunday, July 27, 1980, with my late father-in-law. We descended eastward to Whitney Portal. On the way down we met a woman -- full pack, her 18th ascent in 18 years. She was 85-year-old Hulda Crooks. It was the first time she didn't make it to the top -- too much snow on the east side. Later, the first or second needle south of the Whitney Summit (around 19:00 in your video) was named Crooks Peak in her honor. I also have a story like yours. The day before, July 26, we passed through Crabtree Meadow. Somewhere around there I saw some rocks and trees arranged in such a way the thought came to me that I would like my ashes brought there when I pass. At the time, I thought it would be one of my friends who might do the honor. As time passed and I had sons, I thought one of them might do so. It was the 10,585th day of my life. On my oldest son's 10,585th day, I was at the funeral home collecting his ashes. As Isaac Guillory sings ... It's so easy to think of the times gone by It's a hard thing to think of the times to come And the grace to accept your time as a gift Is a gift that is given to some. What can you do but work all your days Let your dreams bind your work to your play What can you do with each moment of your life But love til you've loved them away. There are sorrows enough for the whole world's end There are no guarantees but the grave And this life that I live & the time I have spent Is a treasure too precious to save. ruclips.net/video/PagE2v4_XY4/видео.html
Wow Jen! The glory is totally worth all the tribulations you are experiencing on the PCT. Loving your joy, compassion for others, and increasing vulnerability as you've gone along. Your videos have helped me claim back the adventurous part of me. My long-time fear of heights (when I was 3 years old, I fell backwards out of a treehouse) has subsided as I've walked beside you through these videos. Keep on trekking and inspiring us all. I'm healing an injury, but can't wait to get my hiking boots back on.
You, Night Crawler, and Fish Tank are my favorite hikers this year. Thanks for taking us along on your summit, that was amazing! Do you know if Mowgli ever made it to the top that day? His story made me cry too, I hope he was able to do what he needed to do. Good job, Jen! Queen of the mountain lol
Congrats. So great, an experience nobody can get away from you. You'll never forget this moment until the end of your life. Had a similar experience on Pico de Teide several years ago.
Stunning views! How special to be able to say happy fathers day from the highest point in the country! Love following your adventure. As always, be safe
Wow, you make good videos. You have such a caring soul Starburst. May the wings of the Angels continue to soar over you. Life journeys are wonderfully unique enjoy yours and those others you come in contact with on your journey.
The joy that flowed from you as you summited brought tears to my eyes. I start the PCT here in a couple weeks and I hope my experience in attempting to summit Mt Whitney is as great and joyful as yours. So awesome you had it to yourself for an hour. Wow.
I’m watching your journey now, a little late, but this episode is SO amazing, I even got anxious with those heights...but you did it, what an inspiration and your bits about doing things for yourself, that create love for yourself...spot on!!!! I’m sharing this!!! Thank you!! ❤️❤️
Congrats Starburst. Beautiful girl, with a wonderful personality on a majestic summit. I was at the top 43 years ago this month. It was fun reminiscing. Thank you for making my day!
I told you this before and I will say it again, you are a beautiful soul. I don’t know you, but I’m so glad I found you here. I’m a mom of three boys, and if I had a daughter I would hope she was a bit like you, adventurous, strong. Keep going and thanks for sharing your journey with us.
@The Whimsical Woman - That story from/about Mogly was so touching, and was a great message. I cried a bit. Thank you! Good Luck, Keep up the great pace on the trail and have fun!
I've watched this video 6 times now! I catch myself each time with a big smile as you celebrate another one of your crowning achievements, summiting Mount Whitney! Your 😀😊 smile is so contagious! Sincerity is a great attribute to have in life and you have mastered it... STAR💫🌠🌟💫 BURST, again congratulations.🎈🎉🎊🎈🙌G.J. Phx Az
wow.... all this magic happening in this one episode was intense. Eyes watered. Motivation inspired. Not only are you doing this for yourself, but you're spreading the love a full 360. Intense. Thanks!
Hello from another Puget Sound person. I've been following your videos since the beginning and rooting hard for you! You are doing a fantastic job, both on the hike and the documentation. As many others have said, your positive outlook is wonderful! Keep it up!
I agree, John... Also from, well, the north Sound area, as my RUclips ID bares out. I know at times she is struggling to keep it together, but I know also that she really appreciates our encouragement and positive comments. Yep, she's a Tiger, albeit an emotional one. BUT that's OK!!! And just a caution, 'Starburst': Don't ever feel you have to go on... just for US. I KNOW you want to make the Can border, but keep your senses, and know you limitations. Don't take this as a 'Downer"! Take it as 'Caring"! Best Wishes, SkagitEd
I sat here watching this episode with a big ol' goofy grin on my face watching you summit and be Queen of the Contiguous US for over an hour! Gratz Starburst, love your spirit
Amazingly spectacular views. It's so awesome that you were able to enjoy Whitney all alone like that. Love following along on your journey. Keep it up; you're doing great.
I agree about not wanting to do the sunrise thing. I camped at Guitar the night before & watched folks make their way up, their headlamps shining in the dark from up above. I also like the views and want to see where I am stepping while along the trail. I did leave Guitar at 4am, and that was tough enough cuz of the cold! But once I was moving, I was okay. I cannot believe you had all that time on top to yourself! That is so strange considering the weather was so nice. Congratulations on making it to the top!! Keep on truckin’! 🚚🚛🚚
WOW!! Wonderful story about the hiker and his father's ashes as well as beautiful views on top of Mt Whitney! Your face! Beaming with joy atop Mt. Whitney! Beautiful!
Great job summiting your own pace your own time!! You are strong and amazing and just so full of happiness!! Thanks for sharing your journey!! Stay safe and happy hiking!!
Just getting caught up with your videos. So happy that you made the summit and could enjoy it alone! So great for you. You are doing the hike your way which is what you need to do. Yeah Starburst!
Congrats on your summit. Your choosing not to sunrise allowed us viewers to see your progress along the way of that hairy trail, which we were not treated to by the early-risers.
Congrats on something those "sharp rock things," 😂😂😂. Your joy is contagious. So happy you got to FaceTime your dad on Father's Day, and pleased you were such a solid member of the hiking community to share your resources helping Mowgli even before you know his personal quest. So, now you're ready to summit Rainier on your way through Washington; should be no problem, right, it's not as high as Whitney!
I have been following your hike from the beginning and enjoying every video. You are a strong and positive young woman! Your enthusiasm and your beautiful laugh are contagious😊 Keep on trecking and continue enjoying every moment of this amazing journey!
I'm proud of you. I too know that feeling, of that one thing that makes you so proud of yourself. If anything ever seems to tough to do, think back to this day, your Mt Whitney day. You inspire us all.
Summiting a 14er is always an achievement to be proud of and a fantastic experience. I'm so pleased that you were able, strong and persistent and had this experience Starburst!
Thank you for allowing me along on your journey to the top of mount Whitney. I have seen several vids of at the top but never the trip up. I can understand how excited you were to be on top of the world and to enjoy the view alone. Congrats young lady.
Congratulations Young Lady... You've just joined an elite group of hikers... I just watched another RUclipsr summit that took off at midnight to catch the sunrise. It was so cool to watch you do it in daylight for the views... OUTSTANDING StarBurst !!! I've done it twice myself and both times I used sound wisdom and didn't bow to fellow hiker peer pressure... Hiked it when I could make sure I wasn't making a wrong step. This was a very emotionally POWERFUL video episode... BIG props to the hiker that packed his Father's ashes to the top of the continental USA.... Remarkable. ✌ 👣 👑 👑 I'm very proud of you... Blessing to you and enjoy that well earned rest when ya get back to camp. ❤ ✌
Congratulations on your Summit. Mt Whitney was all yours!!! How great is that? What a great father's day gift that you called your dad and shared that with him.
Seeing the excitmement and joy in your eyes and hearing it in your voice was well after you self proclaimed yourself "Queen of the World" was worth sitting thru 21mins of the video to get to that point. Oh who am i kidding your fans love watching every min of your videos. Congratulations Starburst on reaching the top. Job well done!!!
Really enjoyed this!! I climbed it three years ago. Twenty-two miles round trip, over 18 hours on the trail. Kicked my butt, I'll tell you that. Love your attitude, girl. Keep going!!
Congratulations on reaching the summit. You were so lucky to have it all to yourself - those views were stunning. I hope Mowgli was able to summit too, such a nice way to honour his father.
Congratulations, I was crying with you. My husband and I tried to get a permit for the JMT but didn't get it. When I saw your video I felt I was going up too. Great job, love your videos. We have been following you since day one! Happy hiking!!!
Excellent job!!! I'm so happy for you peaking and getting to be by yourself. How awesome is that!?? I hope Mobly made it up. Keep on trekking, be safe and have fun!
What a wonderful experience for you! This is my favorite video so far. Your journey is so incredibly inspiring to watch. You have definitely pushed me to do the pct. Thank you for showing all of the emotions and feelings you get while on the pct. Great video!
Congratulations Starburst !! A true accomplishment to be proud of ..your personal joy was wonderful ..can't wait for what's ahead....Stay Safe and God Bless....
Watching your videos really inspire me. I want to do the PCT next year after watching you summit Mt. Whitney. Thank you for sharing your experience☺ You are amazing!!!
There was a Mogli in 2014 as well on the trail. I wonder if it's the same one. Did he make it to the top? Congratulations on summiting!!! To this day that is still my proudest achievement 💚💚💚
Congratulations, you made it! It is heartwarming to see you do all this and be so happy every day. And specially happy on the summit :-)Go on and good luck on your way 🍀🌈🍀
Congratulations on making the summit. That's so cool you being, for over a hour, the highest girl in the continuous US, both figuratively and literally.
Wow! What a great moment. So glad the and your health cooperated to let it be such a joyous experience. This was definitely one of favorite videos that you've posted. Congrats!
I'd Already read the part about Mogli on Instagram, but oh my did I tear up hearing it again. And what a truly astonishing experience! Cheers for making up top, and thank you so very much for sharing! 🍻
Glad to see your back isn't hurting now Starburst, when you were talking about your surgery being swollen I thought you may be in big trouble. Some Ibuprofen helps with altitude sickness (AS) by the way. Take one about every 6 hours, will help your back too. Also try a method of breathing using pursed lips to cause back pressure on your lungs, it helps immensely to prevent AS. I know this was almost 3 weeks ago, but it may help somebody else. I'm like you are, don't like night hiking and missing all the views. Hiking the JMT I've been there twice, it's a nice view up there, but for me it was the end of the trail, but for you Starburst a side trip well taken. You must be up above Yosemite now.
Beautiful views. Maybe best video you ever made. Beware of the snowfields. Once you slide, you slide for good. The blue of the sky is awesome. I wish I could be there.
You don't know me. I don't know you Starburst, but you made me so happy today. Thank you so so much. I am so happy that I can share some of my happiness with you!
Hi it amazes me and thrills me to see today so many ladies out hiking as you are doing. Things have changed so very much since I was a young man.
You truly are one of the nicest, wisest, and strongest people I've ever seen. Please continue to brighten and enhance the lives of those around you.
Wow, thank you for such kind words.
Oh! God! I just lost it when he told you he was scattering his dad's ashes! Thanks so much for this glorious footage - just spectacular and warmest congrats on summiting!! Well done, you!
I cried too

Your videos of your PCT hike just keep getting better and better. The very best on RUclips!
I think you gave your pops the best possible Father's Day gift ever.
Third time viewing this episode and it is one of my favorites! I love your channel and I keep revisiting it from time to time. You are such a Force of Nature! With such wisdom and compassion. I hope Mowgli made it!
Beautiful! #humankindness

Not embarrassing at all! Let it out. Thank you so much!
❤️❤️❤️ right on Mogli ...😢 Congratulations! You peaked!
If I had met this guy with his dad's ashes in person that day I would not think that much of it but listening to you tell the story choked me up.
You are a beast Starburst! I got emotional with you. What a dream....the ONLY person at the summit of Mount Whitney. I'll never be able to do it, but I am living vicariously through you. Love your spirit.

It's so easy to think of the times gone by
It's a hard thing to think of the times to come
And the grace to accept your time as a gift
Is a gift that is given to some.
What can you do but work all your days
Let your dreams bind your work to your play
What can you do with each moment of your life
But love til you've loved them away.
There are sorrows enough for the whole world's end
There are no guarantees but the grave
And this life that I live & the time I have spent
Is a treasure too precious to save.

And specially happy on the summit :-)Go on and good luck on your way 🍀🌈🍀
Best yet, so proud of you!!
Congratulations on making the summit. That's so cool you being, for over a hour, the highest girl in the continuous US, both figuratively and literally.
Wow! What a great moment. So glad the and your health cooperated to let it be such a joyous experience. This was definitely one of favorite videos that you've posted. Congrats!
How special, keep going...what a great example you are to us
I'd Already read the part about Mogli on Instagram, but oh my did I tear up hearing it again.
And what a truly astonishing experience! Cheers for making up top, and thank you so very much for sharing!
🍻
Congratulations!! Fantastic vlog and thanks so much for sharing. I am pumped just watching it.
That was Epic Starburst! Thanks for sharing
I laughed and cried with you. You deserve to be proud of yourself. That’s so awesome!! Congratulations 🎈🎉 🍻
I followed your IG live during the climb and I want to say you definitely made the right call to leave during the day. 👍
Beautiful views. Maybe best video you ever made. Beware of the snowfields. Once you slide, you slide for good. The blue of the sky is awesome. I wish I could be there.
My favorite long trail channel. Thank you always being positive.
Thank you for the support!!
Congrats on your summit!!! Thank you for sharing such a deep experience.
