I had innerspring mattress growing up and loved the bounce but as I grew and got heavier the springs became uncomfortable at times. Then, I bought a memory foam mattress and it was decent. Recently, I replaced the memory foam mattress with a Sealy Posturepedic premier hybrid series copper cushion firm (2nd hand from craigslist for $200/originally $1,200) and have been liking it so far. It has pocketed coils and memory foam on top! BTW, I share it with my 4 yr old son and gf and we all like it!

Oh man I will give innerspring a try, it looks exactly like the type of mattress I really want! I have already tested 2 different foam mattresses (1 very cheap one and a relatively expensive "high quality" orthopedic one), and they do sink and it may sound nice and all but when you are 100kg+ like me that is not a feature you want, the foam will not go back into shape after a while because I am too heavy, meaning I will have a mattress with a hole in the middle...
I will give a try to inner-spring mattresses because they look exactly like the type of mattress I want, very solid and stable for my body weight ! :D

I prefer foam mattress without memory, the memory foam is pleasant only until you try to turn then you find out you can not get out of the hole that you has sink into. Memory foam is also to hot for me with makes me sink in even deeper (gets even softer when it gets hot)...

My wife bought a memory foam mattress. I have been doing my best to sleep on it. She loves it, I can't stand it! It is like trying to sleep on a rock. It is not soft at all. She had to add 2 mattress covers in order for me to even attempt to sleep on it. I still sleep on the edge of the mattress with a pillow under my body. I hate this thing so much. Don't get one!

Thank you for all of the info which helped me to see that i deffinitely dont want an innerspring unless its an individually wrapped coil. I would rather watch a longer video and learn something than a shortened condensed version which leaves me with more questions than answers.

I experience numbness on my arms, shoulders, back, rear and legs on whichever side I lay on. With my current 8 inch foam mattress I just sink almost down to the wooden base. I can't sit in bed or lay on my back without my back and rear going numb. Any body part I lay on goes partly numb from the pressure of my mattress.
What kind of spring or hybrid mattress offers the best support to prevent sinking too far, but still soft enough to not add more pressure causing numbness?

I have a bigger problem owing to health issues a foam matterss is absolutely no good for curvature of the spine leaning to the left and a none operable arthritic right hip and partial removal of cartilage from right knee ,plus ulcerated ankles and odema in both legs ,so I bought a Dolmeo mattress hoping it would be of help but I have an Electric bed to help me with all my health issues and I can't have a spring mattress because the springs would not conform to the movement of the bed .Most of my time is sat on the edge of the bed as not able to lay on it for no longer than a couple of hours as not able to move once I am in a dip it is like trying to go uphill where the mattress has made me in a dip plus I find it too hot which makes sweaty and itchy. On top of all that by sitting on the side there is no support and the foam just disappears and I am left with the backs of my legs pressing against the frame of the bed ,so does any one have a solution to a big problem for me as not able to walk yet due to the odema stopping the ulcers from healing on both ankles.I just wish there was a solution that would not cost a fortune as a pension does not help in a situation like this.!! Thanks for reading this I guess there are other people who have similar problems,God Bless you all.June xx

That's the issue with sponsored videos...
Hate memory foam. Hate inner springs even more. UGH
TLTR The ultimate mattress type is latex IMHO.
(Been studying the topic after trying to wash my mattress case and discovered much to my horror it was cheap yellow foam with large inner springs that was all falling apart.
Realized that's why I didn't feel comfortable on it. (Wasn't mine, in a furnished flat). Kicked it out of my appartment and now sleeping straight on the bedsping (slats) while waiting for the mattress I ordered online and it ain't comfy but sleeping much better than with that cheap mattress, I tell ya.
Memory foam is stupid IMHO because we move around a lot and then it locks you into a position in a way. IDK. Weird and probably not good for muscles and back.
There. My mattress testimony if it can save backs. And money.

these kind of channels will never really tell you the answer because they're all sponsored and don't want to potentially diss the sponsor.
But I would say if you're really heavy or overweight (100kg+), go for latex or firm tension pocket spring.
If you're an average size (55-100kg) front or back sleeper, or a female side sleeper, then go for medium tension, medium feel pocket spring.
If you're an average size male who sleeps on their side then go for a medium-soft to soft memory foam mattress like basically Tempur Cloud.
If you're fairly small or a child (under 50kg) then go for a soft tension pocket spring mattress

@@omfgSHORYUKEN thanks for this detailed information! I got a new mattress, it feels very soft the first few nights I switched from my spring mattress to this new one, feel like my waist and back hurts after one night of sleep, but now after one week of sleeping on it, I am used to it and it feels very comfortable. Human body is very strange.

@@barrylilt oh that's good. Yeah usually mattress companies should tell you this, that it may feel uncomfortable at first as your body adjusts to a new mattress and new/better support, but also as the mattress breaks in and softens up to its true feel.

Memory foam is the most comfortable material for a mattress. But has to be a good quality memory foam.

nope, but I heard it was basically an experiement, and they got rid of it, then somebody picked up on them using memory foam and marketed it that NASA used it. I don't know what is correct to be honest, but may be worth checking out@@Sleepopolis
