The way you teach is so simple and helpful. I'd given up a long time ago but managed to pick guitar back up when I found your channel - thank you SO much. By any chance, would you take into consideration doing a HEART guitar tutorial? Any song, none in specific but with acoustic guitar. I feel like it would really suit the vibe of your channel, plus they're just fantastic of course.

Laura, once again an amazing lesson. You truly make it very easy to understand for beginners and even a more advance player. I especially enjoy when you say something to the effect, you just count to 6 instead to the 1+2+3+4+5+6 as that is how I explain to my students. So it makes me feel good to be validated in my teaching style by someone such as yourself.

For you simple. For someone like me who desperately wants to have just 3 seconds of confidence after months of struggle....1000's of songs?? I'll be happy to gets through 1 1/2 measures lol

Just play two strings, then when you get that, do three strings, then four.
Breaking it up in chunks is more better. I mean, you can't eat a whole steak at one bite, you got to cut that up.
So then you play with those two finger chords, then three. You will get it.
@moorek1967 THIS. My friend told me, "I notice you use only your thumb, middle, and ring finger. You're not really 'Travis picking."' I just do what you mentioned above: I started with thumb, a few weeks later added middle finger to a string, then ring. I have not yet added an index finger. Just have fun and learn. Excellent advice though: Two strings at a time.

Very good graphics in colour too...but, after playing with a pick for 40 years or so I don't have the patience to learn the Finger Picking Style... very difficult to learn at 75 plus I guess!!! 😢😢😢
