It's important when you are on a vegan diet always do your blood work to see what are you lacking like vitamin D , B12 etc etc. I'm on a vegan diet & intermittent diet & no alcohol or stoking.
The important thing is your health. To others being perceived a certain way by other people, (whom ironically can care less about you) is more important?
A friend of mine went vegan for years he lost a lot of weight then he broke his leg and the shit wouldn’t heal. His Dr put him back on fish & meat, he’s feels great now and no longer a vegan.
Vegan is one of the worst diets in the world for human beings. As bad as the super size me diet and the donuts and ice cream diet. Just in different ways.
That's called a regular balanced diet of meats and vegetables. Vegan is zero meat or it's a different diet. You don't incorporate, but I get what you're saying.
All those people out there that think going plant-based and that you can be a bodybuilder and be plant-based are right. There's no scientific proof that we need a certain amount of animal protein in our body to build muscle. In the end lifting weight whether it's body weight or using actual dumbbells or machines is what builds muscle. Our body synthesizes and utilizes plant-based amino acids and proteins way better than protein from animals which can cause all types of inflammation and autoimmune issues. Plus unless you eat super clean sources of meat you are just putting a ton of toxins in your body that then affects your liver and kidneys and blood and lymph. If you are defending the meat and dairy industry then you are addicted not educated.
Intermittent fasting is easy when you eat plenty of high quality fat. Which is incorporated with high quality meat, very satiating, you naturally will eat less when you drop carb consumption to a minimum and replace it with fat that we have eaten for 100,000s of years.
Better fats can be found in nuts, avocados, chia seeds, etc.... The American diet relies heavily on animal protein as its main source, which is why heart disease has risen in the United States. There are simply better alternatives.
Digestion is the most strenuous thing your body does all day. Intermittent fasting stimulates mitochondrial growth, not just a good thing, but a great thing. And yes, there are extremely few actual vegetarians, much less vegans. All of my vegetarian friends "only" eat poultry and fish...what a joke. I try not to like Mike Rashid, but he's an inspiration.

@@frankiefernandez5252 What is real protein to you? Protein is protein. Cows get their protein from plants, then you get protein from their meat. Protein from meat is coming from a secondary source. Now, there is no way a human can eat as much as a cow to satisfy protein needs by a single source, but that's why there is a variety of plant based options available. A 3oz steak has as much protein and calories as 2 tablespoon peanut butter sandwich with quality bread but without the trans fat. Eating a plant based diet is harder and more expensive, but so much more beneficial in the long run. As a weightlifter and on a vegan diet for the past 1 year, I've seen massive increases in my PRs and massive decreases in inflammation, bloating, cholesterol, and blood pressure. My bench is at 365lbs and my deadlift is at 525lbs. Protein doesn't make you stronger at the gym. It's just the building blocks to help grow muscle that you create at the gym. The source of where your muscle is getting that protein doesn't matter, but the health risks of eating a high protein diet and a high animal protein diet has been proven.
@@theaarongarcia One of the main reasons I eat real meat (grass-fed) is for the importance of K2. The cow eats grass , the enzymes in the cows stomach turns the grass into vitamin K2. Vegan is a philosophical movement. Let's just call it what it is: vegetarian! Sick of peeps saying vegan when they mean vegetarian. Why does it seem to be all or nothing, go flexitarian!.Also that leaves more scope for variety ie mik and eggs or flexi animal protein cheats.
Im plant based because after connecting with natures plant foods, medicines, extensive research of the ancient ancestors of khem...and even looking at animals...and wisdom from shamanic ceremonies... I'm plant based because nature showed me the animals dont say eat me...plants are an intelligence created by nature for nourishment...most animals that eat other animals are eating animals that eat plants...heck even the supposed biggest dinosaur...the long neck....was herbivores...
Being a vegan is okay because as far as I'm concerned, eating meat is reserved for those at the top of the food chain such as wolves or eagles. On the other hand, cattle is meant to provide meat rather than eating it. And as for me, a fresh and abundant vaginatarian diet suits me just fine. Life is tasty! LOL
I tried vegan powerlifting. Unless you're on steroids, you *WILL* lose strength and muscle on a vegan diet. My recovery times increased, and my gains slowed. My erector spinae were screaming, and when I finally ate a tenderloin steak I *IMMEDIATELY* felt better. Vegan diets are a great way to lose weight and improve health, but they're suboptimal for athletic performance in my experience. Can't have it all I'm afraid
@Conrad Mann Actually, no. The fact that I along with many others do not experience veganism as some superior magic pill illustrates the need for a rigorous scientific approach and not some *religious obsession* with a diet that people generally choose because they have a moral issue with factory farming. Different diets do different jobs, and none of them accomplish all goals equally. Important distinction.
I use to like this guy but I hate the bullshitting.... Vegan plant based products are trendy right now... that’s where the opportunity to make money is... he’s doing it for cash... and I’m fine with that but don’t pretend like your doing it for any other reason
A lot of these bodybuilding influences started off by eating meat and gained their mass from meat. They then try and sell is this idea that you can get big from only eating vegan food which is wrong. You'll keep of the fat great but other than it hitting your intestines hard I don't see the benefit from it long term.
I mean you can get big from veganism/vegetarianism if you’re eating enough calories and focusing on macronutrients. It’s a lot harder on these diets because meat is a very good protein source, but it’s possible. All the science leads to a plant based diet being more beneficial to humans as it decreases the risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancers, etc...Google it if you don’t believe me, the science is all over the internet.

@@peripheralhandshaker Yes, there are low carb high protein breads available. counting the peanut butter and the bread you get the same amount of protein without the trans fat and same amount of calories.

S NA legumes/beans are a good protein source, lots of fiber, very filling and cheap. Brown rice also is high in protein, and filling and cheaper than eating meat. Oatmeal another good protein source that has healthy fat, fiber, and is cheap. These are all filling and when eaten in combination with green leafy vegetables, that also has protein, it will keep you from feeling hungry and you will meet your protein intake. “We are killing ourself eating!”
So true.

Vegans dominate every single sport. End of discussion.
That's just not factual whatsoever

Intermittent fasting is easy when you eat plenty of high quality fat.
Which is incorporated with high quality meat, very satiating, you naturally will eat less when you drop carb consumption to a minimum and replace it with fat that we have eaten for 100,000s of years.
Better fats can be found in nuts, avocados, chia seeds, etc.... The American diet relies heavily on animal protein as its main source, which is why heart disease has risen in the United States. There are simply better alternatives.
@@theaarongarcia
lmao. The SAD diet is literally 70 percent plant based
@@takeoffyourblinkers None of that is whole food plant based. To compare the 70% and a healthy plant based diet is just stupid.
I love how interviews try to make it seem like you’re “ lacking something “🙄
Digestion is the most strenuous thing your body does all day. Intermittent fasting stimulates mitochondrial growth, not just a good thing, but a great thing. And yes, there are extremely few actual vegetarians, much less vegans. All of my vegetarian friends "only" eat poultry and fish...what a joke. I try not to like Mike Rashid, but he's an inspiration.

Been vegan 4 years but for me it's inconvenient so I eat lil bit meat when needed mostly at work for lunch if I don't bring vegan meal but goin vegan is really hard
I'm intrigued by Veganism but hear that all of them are supplementing. That tells me it's probably not the optimum diet for humans.
bro I was whole food plant based vegan for over 4 years, it is not optimal for human health. Eat locally sourced dairy, eggs, chicken and beef. Fish... I easily got back to a healthy weight and started bulking with lean muscle mass as soon as I added these back in my diet. Not to mention massive improvement of cognitive symptoms like depression, brain fog, low energy... Veganism is a myth.
Every vegan bodybuilder is on PEDS/steroids. They shouldn't be idolized by anyone.
@@t3hgir I'm much stronger in the gym when I eat real protein. However, I have increased the veg and fruit and also going low carb.
The Indians did it for 5000 years (eating dairy as well)
@@frankiefernandez5252 What is real protein to you?
K2 removes the excess Calcium deposits from your joints, heart, etc.. You cannot get K2 from plants, only k1. This is one of many reasons the elderly have bad hearts and joints today. The reduction of k2 and the increase in Insulin spikes. THE END.

But you need to have more servings.
Dinosaurs never existed, but good work.

LOL

Mike ‘right’ Rashid.
@Conrad Mann Actually, no.
Have you seen Game Changers? That Doc disproves your assertion that a vegan diet is not optimal for athletic performance.
I've heard it was at maximum a 1% strength loss.
I personally choose health and it's nice to see that actually being noted.
You were probably not eating enough protein. Beans and pulses are essential for vegan athletes

@@Lifechanginghandle This is where the testing is wrong, meat is more calorific than veg so it would be a big load of veg which you can not possibly eat.
@@peripheralhandshaker That is incorrect. a 3oz steak has the same amount of protein and calories as a peanut butter sandwich with quality bread but without the trans fat that you get from meat.
@@theaarongarcia That is totally wrong. Even if you put peanut butter on two slices of bread it will still be lower than a 3oz steak, which no one does out to buy. This is the ridiculous testing that I am talking about. Get realistic portions and test it by that. Also are you including the calories of the bread?
@@peripheralhandshaker Yes, there are low carb high protein breads available. counting the peanut butter and the bread you get the same amount of protein without the trans fat and same amount of calories.
There is a main question from me: Wouldn't you have to live off on protein shakes? For those who doesn't have a strong digestion, how could you digest enough plants to get enough protein even for a normal musculature?
S NA legumes/beans are a good protein source, lots of fiber, very filling and cheap. Brown rice also is high in protein, and filling and cheaper than eating meat. Oatmeal another good protein source that has healthy fat, fiber, and is cheap. These are all filling and when eaten in combination with green leafy vegetables, that also has protein, it will keep you from feeling hungry and you will meet your protein intake. You can also do soybeans or tofu. Which also are good protein source but I know some may have issues with soy products. The less processed the better so like edamame would be the better version of soy products.
@@idefinemybeauty which bringes me back to the original point. I was vegetarian for a couple of years, and all of that fiber and legumes and nuts was not good for my gut. I would have to use lots of supplements
@Eric Eric.yeah, trends are more powerful than reason. What's complicated is that also animal protein is hard if you're low on stomach acid. While vegan stuff is hard on intestines. I wish I did fasting before I got chronic problems. Then I think I'd be fine anyway. Still, even with fasting I don't see how many of us would not be bloated from a ton of beans and grains
Plants have protein if you don't know.
