I think this is the second Thunder Bringer animatic I've seen where Eurylochus doesn't charge towards Odysseus after he chooses his own life over his crew.
@minion017 it always made sense to me since he's making a hard decision and she's there to solidify his choice. And it's a fun call back to the sirens. That's not necessarily Penelopes words but he doesnt care if it really is her. He just wants to go home

@@cdbitesky It actually does. In this version he takes responsability for killing the cow and tries to protect Ody at difference of others where he blames Ody for his mistakes

And the fact that she know's the crew most likely (Since yk, Eurylochus is Ody's brother in law on his sister's side if I remember correctly) and STILL tries to help her husband deal with the decision by letting her take his suffering? Amazing. 10/10. I need more

This is the only animatic of Thunder Bringer that brought me to tears. Penelope being used by the gods to reinforce to Odysseus what he would be losing. Eurylochus standing as barrier to defend Odysseus choice not only as his second in command but his friend. Ugh amazing, thank you for your hard work. Now to watch again!
I imagine it's also because, as the one who spearheaded slaughtering Helios' sacred cows, he's the one responsible for Odysseus even needing to choose between his entire crew and himself, with the crew also having taken part. I think a part of him believes they deserve whatever comes, and another part just wants it to be over. Odysseus, though, is still so desperate to make it home. He hasn't given up yet like they have, so Eurylochus respects his choice.

2:33 This part touched my heart. The scene is as beautiful as it is painful. You really managed to capture Odysseus' pain and Penelope's longing to take away that great suffering. ❤️😭

I'm pretty sure that Jorge meant it to be Zeus causing the voices to be there. I think gods can not only summon extra voices, but also other people's tunes.
Wow. Just . . . wow. Having Zeus drag Penelope in, even if it was her dream presence. Eurylochus standing between Odysseus and the charging crew. Again you have created a thing of beauty. I love it.
The motions, the lighting, the feelings, the way you incorporated Penelope into this???? You’re insanely talented! I can’t even begin so let me just lay down here and cry
SUCH a small detail, but i love Penelope covering her ears at Thunder Bringer. Its duch a cute detail, but shows how far Ody has gone. He is done, right up until the point Zeus makes him choose his friends or himself.
Also Eurylochus standing to protect his captain in the last moments means so much. Accountability, friendship, acceptance, and mourning. “If you want all the power you must carry all the blame.” He had the power that got them in this moment, and accepts he must carry all the blame. It cost him his life. Not that he had a choice but, he knew.
This is honestly my favorite Thunder Bringer animatic because I REALLY headcanon that this is how Eurylochus reacts. Especially with how, at the end of the song Mutiny, Eurylochus is just... so tired, and defeated, and not even really mad at Ody because he knows this journey has destroyed them in every way. So I honestly think it's really in character for how we see and hear Eurylochus at the end of Mutiny for him to either just give up after Ody makes his choice, or to defend Ody from the others with a resigned expression that says "We both knew that the rest of us would never get home" and one last tribute to a brotherhood and friendship that, at one time, would have happily died for each other 😭 😞
You know, I think that's the first animatic of this song where Zeus actually looks like... A caring father? I mean, why else did he send vision to Penelope if not to ensure Odysseus chose himself and their family over his crew. I had goosebumps when she appeared there, for real!

This was undeniably one of the most amazing choices for animatic. To have it that Penelope's spirit was there, and Eurylocus accepting judgment while putting himself between Odysseus and the rest of the crew. Beautiful. Just beautiful.
I think this is much better than Eurylochus attacking Odysseus with the crew. having him understand and accept his mistake is much better for an ending, especially when you consider he was the one who told Odysseus that the gods are dangerous and that they should avoid them just to not to piss him off. There's also the fact that he must've felt some sort of responsibility about the death of the 558 men because he opened the wind bag. Making him defend Odysseus is much more logical than having him attack AND hurts more 💀
Really really love the interpretation of Penelope having a vision or being there in a dream. It finally makes her lines make sense as seeing her would definitely make Ody want to live no matter what
The buildup to Zeus appearance is incredible and he acts like a young kid playing with others who he bullies for the sheer joy appears to get from toying with Odysseus and the sadness and the horror and the rest of his crew. Great job.
This is amazing 😍 I especially love where Eurylochus puts himself between Odysseus and the rioting crew, showing that he still cares for Odysseus and doesn't hold his choice against him. Most animations I've seen eather have Eurylochus joining the crew or standing by. This was so much better, in my opinion, by showing his bond with Odysseus.
Others use Penelope to manipulate as a tool for Zeus to use, you put her there and have Zeus acknowledge her. She knows what her husband chose and in that moment what he sacrificed. That is powerful shit ngl!!!
Think this is the first animatic for this song that I have seen where Oddy is still being treated like he was during Mutany. Having him tied is a nice touch. Also is friend's last acting being stopping the crew from charging is...wow.
Oh my gosh THE WAY YOU MAKE ZEUS LEGIT FEEL MENACING INTIMIDATING AND SCUMMY! Absolutely jaw dropping. This is probably the first animatic I’ve seen that really captured how lusty, cunning, and scarily power-trippy he can be
I'm not gonna lie this is the second animatic where it's close to my head cannon of the events after 3:15. In which Eurylocus doesn't attack Odysseyus and rather shields him from the crew or attones for his and the crews mistakes. If its okay I'm gonna drop the comment I posted on thunder bringer here for what I imagined happened If interested please keep reading XD I'd like to think this is what happens while Zeus is singing after Ody says "I know" Odysseus, no longer able to decide whether or not he should be selfish and save himself to see his wife and son or be selfless and save his crew (a crew he knows that betrayed him but still sees as brothers), falls to his knees. Tears beginning to fall as Odysseus falls into a deep spiral of despair and is mentally broken once again. Eurylochus seeing his friend, his brother, from up till now was a cunning and wise captain and king, to now a man at his wits end and is falling further more into despair. Seeing how desperate Odysseus is to see his wife and child, more desperate than any other man on the ship they are on, seeing how much despair the weight of a decision Odysseus has to make on which life should be sacrificed. Eurylochus decides to take that burden off his brothers shoulders. Whether it be due to the guilt he has for what he did or the fact that he no longer wants to see Odysseus suffer any longer, Eurylochus brings Odysseus to his feet. Placing his hands on his brothers shoulders he says to Odysseus: "Ody...I know how much you miss your family and I know how desperate you are to see your home...and I understand you did what you had to do to ensure we get back home to Ithaca again...and I know you must be going through so much suffering....and I'm sorry... I'm sorry that I'm reason we're in this mess and i'm sorry that I opened the wind bag, loosing are chances to get home...So let me take the suffering from you, let me and the crew atone for what we have done" Eurylochus then turns to the crew, nodding at them and the crew knowing what they must do. Eurylochus then turns towards Zeus nodding his head, Zeus understanding what Eurylochus wishes to have done. Eurylochus then turns around looking at Odysseus. Odysseus realizing what's about to happen, tries to think of a way to bargain to Zeus, to find a way where everyone survives. But before he could say anything to the Thunder God, Eurylochus calls out to him. "Ody, I'll make sure to tell Polites of everything that has happened... hopefully he doesn't get mad at me for my stupidity haha...I hope we see each other again, and makes sure to tell us rest of how your journey back home to Ithaca goes... Oh and Ody, promise me you'll make it home alive brother...no matter what" Before Odysseus can say a word, a giant lightning bolt strikes down the ship destroying it Leaving no one but Odysseus to survive as he drifts down into the ocean This is what I'd like to believe happened and that Eurylochus understood why Odysseus did what he did and choose to atone for what he and the crew did. But then again this is all in my head cannon XD Thank you for reading what my head cannon was XD
I truly wish my head canon was as kind as your own. I think that's the what if that remains in Eury's head in the underworld. Everything he WISHES he did that the emotions overwhelmed in the moment.
oh. oh my LORD THAT ZEUS DESIGN!! Also i love the pain on Eurylochus and the way he keeps the rest of the crew from Odyseus even as Zeus is about to kill them all. he knows he's the one that brought this upon them all. and as he told Odyseus. "if you want all the power you must carry all the blame"
Loved how Eurylocus actually stands in the way of the rest of the crew looking at Odysseus like "I'm sorry for turning my back on you let me have your back one last time"
This certainly my favorite Thunder Bringer Animated Version! Also how dare you made the fucker looks that good, Britt?! I don't wanna fall for him and end up getting chased by Hera or her minion!
FAVORITE Zeus design. He's not an elderly geezer with a huge white beard. He looks kind of young and VERY handsome, a more believable hegemonic fuckboy. His little smirks have tremendous personality. Poseidon killed more people, but he did not revel in it... They share a strong resemblance as brothers do, but they're still distinct. Eurylochus protected Odysseus... This is a smart decision since he didn't kill Odysseus in Mutiny even though "Ody" was absolutely going to send him to Hades. A last act of love. 💔 Penelope being present is AHHHHHHHHHHHH
Zeus: Hello my descendant! I heard the sun god saw his bff the cow got slaughtered... You mind telling me who did it and why is it your crew Ody: what? Zeus: GOOD ENOUGH! Alright watch great great great grandpa do his magic
This is the only Thunder Bringer Animatic to bring me to tears. Eurylochus stopping his men at the last moment, accepting his fate to turn and look at Odysseus with forgivness. If Eurylochus hadn't opened the bag of storms, would any of this have happened??
Well even then Odysseus still had part Poseidon’s wrath. He screwed up the moment he revealed his name. At that point it wouldn’t have mattered, Poseidon would have hunted him even if they got back to Ithaca.
Omg I’ll admit I haven’t seen many animations of thunder bringer but this has to be one of the best I’ve seen. And never thought I’d say this about any version of Zeus but dang he looks good. I love your art style.
This was gorgeous!!! I love everything about this, how you see an ACTUAL woman with zeus(I'm very used to cloud women at this point so I was shocked to see what I'm assuming to be a nymph with him). Euri getting between the rest of the crew and Odysseus! That act asked just how much love and bond they have between them to where he would put himself there as his final stand as a friend. And I'm so freaking excited by your inclusion of Penelope, I've actually been thinking of writing a fan song but as Euri's wife/Ody's sister/ penelopes sister in law where there would be this sense through all the women of the Kingdom like a great catastrophe had happened yet Penelope send to be the only one still with faith in her lovers return. I plan to make it very emotional hopefully lol😅. Just so cool to see someone with a somewhat similar idea I guess.
It was a thunderstorm outside of my house and one of the sounds of thunder in the song matched with lightning that just struck. Also amazing animatic❤️
With the first verse of Zeus talking and “her” being pride to describe the choices that Odysseus and his men have worked really well with the cloudy figure visually But you including Penelope being their in astral form makes it seem like when Zeus says “Show her I’m the judgement call” he’s talking about Penelope instead of pride. A wonderful artistic direction to go with the this song the raise it to another level 🎉🎉
I love when Eury stood in the way. I much prefer him standing with Ody till the end rather than turning on him to try and kill him. It delivers such a stronger tear jerker
Nah that's not Zeus, that's Godwyn the Rizz Prince from Elden Ring. Memes aside, this animatic is well made. I love your Zeus design. I especially like the detail where Penelope was having a out of body like experience that she probably thought was just a dream.
Eury spending his last moments shielding Odysseys has me in tears. At least one of them is getting to make it home and he's willing to make his peace. This song and the one before I loved for showing that Ody still loved his crew and it's good to see at least Eury still did as well. Seeing how easy it was to doom the entire crew probably helped him realize six dead men to get past Scylla was genuinely the best deal Ody could've gotten lol. Amazing vid!
@Crazychik96 the dude turned into rain to bang a chick. Also a lot of the time he was an animal. I'M JUST SAYING Greeks may have had some weird standards
There's a lot to love in this, but two things really jump out to me: one, it's such a clever and apt visual metaphor to keep Odysseus' hands tied from the end of Mutiny. It's such a concise but effective means of demonstrating that Odysseus' hands are also metaphorically tied in the situation (ie, choosing between himself and his crew are both bad options, and he's essentially forced into a corner because of it). Secondarily, I think this animatic has my favorite depiction of Zeus' lightning. The sheer flash and golden light from them dominate the entire screen, and light up the clouds and horizon. Not that other animatics do a bad job or anything, but I think you really sell just how friggin' dangerous these things are, and the fact that Zeus can just casually hold them really demonstrates his sheer level of power. Also, I'm not made of stone: having Penelope actually experience the events (and the fact that Zeus is the only one that is 100% able to see her, though Odysseus seems to be able to semi-aware of her being around) is such a great idea and executed to perfection. Great stuff all around!
Ohhh, i love the idea of Zeus bringing Penelope to actually be there! And then how she got pulled back when shit is about to go down and him acknowledging her, makes sense how she then in the future does all she can to delay the suitors so he got more time to come home. 🤩 She knows he's alive since Zeus made him choose!
I love the idea of having Penelope see everything that went on, but at the same time, it feels like it takes something away. We already know this all ends with Ody trying to tell Penelope how much he's changed, and if she saw that first hand here, that'd be kinda... Empty. On top of that, that specific line - "I will take the suffering from you" - was only used by the siren. Fake Penelope, trying to manipulate Odysseus. I feel like the usage of that same line there is our indicator that this isn't really Penelope.
I'M SO SORRY I MISSED THIS 😭😩 ALSO THIS IS THE FIRST TB ANIMATIC THAT HAS THE SPIRIT/DREAM OF PENELOPE WITNESSING THIS RATHER THAN JUST IT HAVING IT BE ODYSSEUS'S IMAGINATION?? that's so unique and i really like it, it makes it so much more emotional with her realization of what odysseus had to do and knowing she was the reason, AAAAAAHHH?? great job as always!
I am absolutely obssessed with your use of Penelope in this work. It such a creative depiction of her part in the song and it reminds me of your version of "Monster." How Penelope hugged future Odysseus, even if he has killed so many people. She just wants him home. Only to be ripped from him and forced to watch Zeus exact his "judgement." It hurts so much and I love it. And I just... empathize with Odysseus and Euryclus. They both understand each other despite their differences. And I think every one on that boat would make the same choice as Odysseus did.
Wowza, wow! I feel like I say that with every animatic you make. Your creative decisions and low frame high quality style is my favorite. The choice to put Penelope at the end makes so much sense. I am surprised yours is the first I’ve seen to do that. It brought tears to my eyes.
BRB sobbing, there's so many little things I love about this. Penelope being there through a dream, Eurylochus standing there to defend Odysseus, Penelope's tear seeming to fall on Odysseus' cheek... Such attention to detail, and making such a powerful song even more moving.
Having Penelope become an Astral Projection that watches this entire thing go down is a brilliant decision that fits well into Greek mythology. Makes me super interested in what you'll do with her when we see her again. Congratulations on finishing the entire Thunder Saga! Personally my favorite animatics of yours from this batch are Different Beast and Scylla. This one is done pretty dang well though and might join that group. I'm going to try and show you off to more fellow Winions.
I think this is the second Thunder Bringer animatic I've seen where Eurylochus doesn't charge towards Odysseus after he chooses his own life over his crew.
What's crazier was that he was defending Odysseus.

I love the way you like put Odysseus still tied since his crew didn't untie him, I love it!! AND OH PENELOPE MY CHILD, SO REAL, I LOVE IT!!
Think this is the first animatic for this song that I have seen where Oddy is still being treated like he was during Mutany. Having him tied is a nice touch.
Also is friend's last acting being stopping the crew from charging is...wow.
The Zeus + Hubris cloud trend is something we got respect.
(And not that far from the myths, look for Ixion's story)
Oh my gosh THE WAY YOU MAKE ZEUS LEGIT FEEL MENACING INTIMIDATING AND SCUMMY! Absolutely jaw dropping. This is probably the first animatic I’ve seen that really captured how lusty, cunning, and scarily power-trippy he can be
Loved the side eye that Zeus gives to Penelope when he's about to strike. Nice added detail.
Eurylochus defending Odysseus from the crew was a nice touch at the end
I'm not gonna lie this is the second animatic where it's close to my head cannon of the events after 3:15. In which Eurylocus doesn't attack Odysseyus and rather shields him from the crew or attones for his and the crews mistakes.
If its okay I'm gonna drop the comment I posted on thunder bringer here for what I imagined happened
If interested please keep reading XD
I'd like to think this is what happens while Zeus is singing after Ody says "I know"
Odysseus, no longer able to decide whether or not he should be selfish and save himself to see his wife and son or be selfless and save his crew (a crew he knows that betrayed him but still sees as brothers), falls to his knees.
Placing his hands on his brothers shoulders he says to Odysseus:
"Ody...I know how much you miss your family and I know how desperate you are to see your home...and I understand you did what you had to do to ensure we get back home to Ithaca again...and I know you must be going through so much suffering....and I'm sorry... I'm sorry that I'm reason we're in this mess and i'm sorry that I opened the wind bag, loosing are chances to get home...So let me take the suffering from you, let me and the crew atone for what we have done"
Eurylochus then turns to the crew, nodding at them and the crew knowing what they must do.
Oh and Ody, promise me you'll make it home alive brother...no matter what"
Before Odysseus can say a word, a giant lightning bolt strikes down the ship destroying it
Leaving no one but Odysseus to survive as he drifts down into the ocean
This is what I'd like to believe happened and that Eurylochus understood why Odysseus did what he did and choose to atone for what he and the crew did. But then again this is all in my head cannon XD
Thank you for reading what my head cannon was XD
I truly wish my head canon was as kind as your own. I think that's the what if that remains in Eury's head in the underworld. Everything he WISHES he did that the emotions overwhelmed in the moment.
This is by far the best Thunder Bringer animatic I've ever seen hands down!
PENELOPE BEING THERE IS CANNON I WILL HEAR NO OTHER ARGUMENTS. 10/10 VERY GOOD
Penelope was a blessing for Odysseus. The song was for the doomed crew who betrayed the one who'd always got them out of trouble they caused.
oh. oh my LORD THAT ZEUS DESIGN!!
Also i love the pain on Eurylochus and the way he keeps the rest of the crew from Odyseus even as Zeus is about to kill them all. he knows he's the one that brought this upon them all. and as he told Odyseus. "if you want all the power you must carry all the blame"
At this point every iteration of Thunder Bringer is how we can best torment all the cast involved. I'm loving it.
WHAT THE ACTUAL F-!! PENELOPE?!?!? My mind is blown, I’m shooketh, my wig is snatched, I caN’T EVEN!!!!!
Loved how Eurylocus actually stands in the way of the rest of the crew looking at Odysseus like "I'm sorry for turning my back on you let me have your back one last time"
Use what Circe taught you oddy. I promise he’ll fall for it
I clicked faster than Poseidon left Sally to raise Percy on her own
Dam that’s fast
@@Pooto... I got the notification when she made it and I clicked it really fast like Hermes
😂😂😂😂
This certainly my favorite Thunder Bringer Animated Version! Also how dare you made the fucker looks that good, Britt?! I don't wanna fall for him and end up getting chased by Hera or her minion!
I’m sorry Hera 😭 we all say in unison. 😂
Penelope being present is AHHHHHHHHHHHH
Well, Zeus is the youngest of his three brothers, so it kinda makes sense that at least one animatic would have him look like his prime.
@@rjmanary4087, but he is also immortal and doesn't really age since he is a god, so he can look perfectly young
@@doloresgronenberg5882 True
Zeus: Hello my descendant! I heard the sun god saw his bff the cow got slaughtered... You mind telling me who did it and why is it your crew
Ody: what?
Zeus: GOOD ENOUGH! Alright watch great great great grandpa do his magic
“He said I only had to kill one of you, but I just got blue-balled so they’re all dying and you get to watch.”
I can't get that Zeus looks like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast out of my head!
I love the animation 😁
This is the only Thunder Bringer Animatic to bring me to tears. Eurylochus stopping his men at the last moment, accepting his fate to turn and look at Odysseus with forgivness. If Eurylochus hadn't opened the bag of storms, would any of this have happened??
Well even then Odysseus still had part Poseidon’s wrath. He screwed up the moment he revealed his name. At that point it wouldn’t have mattered, Poseidon would have hunted him even if they got back to Ithaca.
I have been waiting for this! I very much scream 'YES! YES!' when I see the youtube short 😂
This is literally the best animated version of this I’ve ever seen!!!
The thunder flash at 2:58 to show Penelope is not physically there but is still experiencing this in real time‼
Wow!
EURYLOCUS STOPPED THE CREW!!! He had Odysseus’s back until the very end despite it all 😢
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH, the ending just abruptly changing when the tear drops in Odysseus face as he’s in the shore of the beach is AMAZING
It was a thunderstorm outside of my house and one of the sounds of thunder in the song matched with lightning that just struck. Also amazing animatic❤️
With the first verse of Zeus talking and “her” being pride to describe the choices that Odysseus and his men have worked really well with the cloudy figure visually
But you including Penelope being their in astral form makes it seem like when Zeus says “Show her I’m the judgement call” he’s talking about Penelope instead of pride.
A wonderful artistic direction to go with the this song the raise it to another level 🎉🎉
I love when Eury stood in the way. I much prefer him standing with Ody till the end rather than turning on him to try and kill him. It delivers such a stronger tear jerker
Zeus still has no right to look that epic 😳
I mean, he's the king of the gods, if anyone has that right, it's him 😂
3:38 I'm not crying, you are!!! 😭😫
OMG I AM CRYING YES 💧🥺💧 IN EVERY OTHER ANIMATIC EURELYCUS LEADS THE CHARGE TO KILL ODDYSEUS AND HERE HE PROTECTS HIS FRIEND TILL HIS LAST MOMENTS
BRO YOU MADE HIM HOT HOW DARE
For real though this looks amazing
How ELSE do you think women are so easily persuaded to sleep with the dude?!
@Crazychik96 the dude turned into rain to bang a chick. Also a lot of the time he was an animal. I'M JUST SAYING Greeks may have had some weird standards
@@Crazychik96, to be honest, the majority of times they aren't persuaded, the majority of times they are raped
Hot damn, that ending with Penelope was brilliant
I love the idea of having Penelope see everything that went on, but at the same time, it feels like it takes something away.
We already know this all ends with Ody trying to tell Penelope how much he's changed, and if she saw that first hand here, that'd be kinda... Empty.
On top of that, that specific line - "I will take the suffering from you" - was only used by the siren. Fake Penelope, trying to manipulate Odysseus. I feel like the usage of that same line there is our indicator that this isn't really Penelope.
1:39 is literally my fav part. The second thunder is amazing, awakening my heart
I'M SO SORRY I MISSED THIS 😭😩
ALSO THIS IS THE FIRST TB ANIMATIC THAT HAS THE SPIRIT/DREAM OF PENELOPE WITNESSING THIS RATHER THAN JUST IT HAVING IT BE ODYSSEUS'S IMAGINATION?? that's so unique and i really like it, it makes it so much more emotional with her realization of what odysseus had to do and knowing she was the reason, AAAAAAHHH?? great job as always!
AND EURYLOCHUS PUTTING HIMSELF BEFORE THE CREW TO PROTECT ODYSSEUS EVEN THOUGH IT SEEMED FUTILE 😭 THE ANGST
Honestly in love with how you do the backgrounds and lightning and lighting in general omfg
I was confused at first to why was there a women on the ship but then I figured it was Penelope. SUCH A GOOD ANIMATION!!!!!!!!
0:39 "do we need to be here for this,"
OOOOOOHHH Penelope actually being spiritually there and seeing it all?! LOVE IT!!!!!
Super cool choice to have Penelope see all of it in a dream. And the last shot of the tear falling on Odysseus?? Gorgeous
I FUCKING LOVE THIS SO MUCH. All the details like Penelope having some like vision or dream about it just hit different
AHH EURYLOCHUS STEPPING OUT TO PROTECT ODYSSEUS FROM THE CREW... HELP. OW. OUCH. YOW.
