It looks like Athens is going to loan me a bow for long-term testing this year. I've been trying to get my hands on one for a while now. Very excited.

It is great to see Bear and Darton putting market pressure on Mathews, Hoyt, etc. I love the big company flagships, great bows, but the market space needs more balance. Let's hope Bear and Darton stay focused on high value offerings and don't slip only into high end offerings (mainly Darton as Bear is always likely to have midpoint bows) in the same way Falken offered great prices on the Wildpeak tire for the first 24 months and now they are priced the same as Toyo (best analogy I could come up with). Archery needs great bows between $500-750 or maybe $800ish in order to draw more folks into the market space.

Exactly. See my comment above. We would all drool over this year’s wonder $600 sight but c’mon man?
I’m shooting bow and arrow in the backyard all by myself. I just want the gear to work reliably and I just want to relax shooting some arrows.
Hats off to the middle market here and for covering some of it.

100%. Ultraview products are designed for less than 5% of archers. The big shops in my area don't carry UV due to the prices being out of touch with 95%+ of their customers. I just hope Darton does not try to go only high end, that they keep a decent mid point offering for years to come. It will force others to do the same. Lastly, success bowhunting in terms of harvest, is 90% the hunter and 10% the gear. I killed many elk with $350 dollars all in on bow, sight, rest, etc. @@rf6934

I’m so brand new to this sport but it looks very interesting. I’m hoping to get a better understanding which should be my first bow that cost at least no more than $1500. I understand the concept of shooting a weapon since I was in the military, but I’ve never shot a compound bow.

I enjoyed the draw cycle of the Alaskan XT more than the new Bear Flagship. Fit and finish certainly isn't as good as the flagship, but there is a lot of value in that bow.

@@ArcheryTalkVideo I will agree 💯 on the bear flagship I shot 1 over the weekend and it’s not even on my list of bows I’d buy. I’m a lot like you the draw cycle means a lot to me with a bad shoulder. Ive actually went back to a single cam on account of that dang bad shoulder lol

Thank you for not covering Hoyt or Mathews dream rigs in this list.
So tired of all these You Tubers with their MEGA Bows, I get it, the newest super bow is cool, it’s dreamy, but we can’t all spend $1,500 to $2K on a new bow every year.
I come home with a radical new Hoyt or Mathews or PSE or Bowtech… instant divorce.
I have a great bow that is “premium entry level,” about $700-$750’ish. I intend to shoot it for a while and I like to hear about Entry Level and just past entry level bows - - thank you for covering this segment of the market.
No disrespect to the other RUclipsrs or the more premium bow manufacturers but that sort of gear sells itself: this is our new flagship bow and it does this one thing better, maybe two things better than last year. Ok, great thanks for letting us know.
Long winded to say: thank you for keeping it modest, yeah you like the SR but it was great to hear you mention Bear Archery too.

So really all it takes to be accurate with a bow is just being able to hold its extremely steady in one spot - so if you hold a full draw and do it for long periods of time for a lot of reps than one should be extremely accurate ????

Hey Lucas! Have you ever tried a gearhead bow? I’d like to see what you think with a bow you can really tinker with. Make 20-24 ATA bows which I really like for hunting situations and then they make 30+ ata for general use and TARGET archery.
Just a suggestion from another fellow bow shooter.
Thank you for all the info you produce

Ive shot a few Gearhead bows at the ATA Show in prior years, but they weren’t at the show this year. I reached out to them previously to see if they wanted me to test their bows, but they did not want to do that.
