The first time I watched them perform the piano versions of Crawling and One More Light together on this tour, I fucking bawled my eyes out. When Crawling is broken down like that and forces you to really listen to and experience the lyrics, it is heart-wrenching. I've watched a few of the shows that have been livestreamed this tour and that part hits me every time. I'd dearly love to sing with Chester but I know I would be an absolute mess during it, probably sobbing uncontrollably.
Now that Chester is gone, I bet I can imagine that your feelings you expressed about these songs have drastically intensified. Hope your feeling better though.
For me I feel like the original crawling had like an anger to it and the stripped one sounds like he has given up and defeated

Boo hoo you. I'm loving the new Linkin Park album. They just showed their craftsmanship in songwriting and producing. I no longer think of them as a Nu Metal band. I would no longer listen to LP if they kept doing the same thing over and over for the past 15 years. I just listened to Disturbed again for the first time yesterday after the early 2000s and I thought to myself, "Wow, it's been 15 years and they still sound the same. Nothing's changed and I almost forgot about them." I'm glad LP is doing what they're doing. I don't mind whatever they end up doing again for their new album in the next 3 years coz it'll always surprise and challenge fans. They still sound like Linkin Park today.
