Yeah, it looks like this strike will forever change hollywood through the global relocation of studios.

That and studios might make the shift to AI sooner rather than deal with the teamsters

Daaaaang, Katie! That was a great breakdown. Short-range trucking is definitely going to the robots within a few years. Sean O'Brian has to be the most union-chief name, ever.

Thank you! 😊 haha he was born to be a union leader. But really they're setting themselves up to be replaced by AI

They need to get rid of the Rick & Morty writers in Marvel! Michael p3d0 Waldron, Eric Martin (keep them AWAY FROM LOKI) etc. Also remove James p3d0 Gunn! Don’t let Taika near Marvel (mainly Thor and Loki) *AGAIN!*

The Actors Union had about 10k more members than the number of jobs per year. The Writers union was so much worse.
IATSE going on strike should have happened last year but by leaving it until now they have not shot them self in the foot but blown both arms and most of their face off.
The entire entertainment industry (movie, stream, TV, comics, games) are all being hit massively. Now with AI what these people might notice is the huge reduction in jobs because you don't need sets when it's all blue screen. You don't need costumes when you can just digitally add in the outfits. You don't need fleets of vehicles transporting sets to locations when it's all done in massive studios. Add in the fact they will get NO support from the actors or writers, it is more likely they will emerge from this with a few minor concessions but far fewer available jobs.

So true! If they had gone on strike with everyone else they might have has a chance but going alone I think studios might agree to some of their demands but overall there will be massive cuts and a turn to AI

The teamsters striking will force the studios to turn to AI sooner rather than giving in to their demands

Another strike will be devastating for the union workers. Corporations have a funny way of coming out on top. They will use less and less labor (because of the technology, AI is a game changer) and at the same time give the CEO and his/her executives big fat bonuses behind closed doors. And the union chief’s name is Sean O’Brian 🤔? That’s like the perfect name for a Union Chief and his quotes are also perfect. You can’t make this stuff up. WAIT A MINUTE 🤔. DID AI WRITE THIS STORY 🤔? YOUR GOOD AI, YOUR GOOD!!!! Yeah, the union is screwed ☹️.

😂😂 Sean O'Brian was born to lead the unions lol but yes the big businesses always win... they might agree to their demands for more money but will cut labor on the back end. Regardless AI is the future and will be used no matter what. They should embrass is and make it work for them

Collective bargaining has been an important tool and it has taken the worker out of serfdom. The number of bosses who have voluntarily improved the lot of their workers is woefully small. Unions are important and have done great work.
In the hands of unscrupulous Union bosses though, they can do irreparable damage.
These guys are just ludites, King Canute demanding that the tide retreat. AI is here to stay, and over time it will be employed more and more. This is futile.
