I suddenly realized that way back in the 90s when this game was developed, some music dude literally wrote an entire prog metal album, just to provide ambient noise in the background while players played as terrans. Incredible work!
@@InnuendoXP I kind of agree. SC2's Terran music has a couple good bangers in the moment, and I find myself humming along when I'm playing, but they're not nearly as memorable as SC1's.
Love how starting at 2:23 the rhythm is very abrupt and makes for a feeling of an intense struggle. Then the strings change a bit at 2:30 to build up the epicness. And finally at 2:37 the crash of the snare and symbols lifts of the rhythm and you feel like you're rolling.
Man I was 9 years old when I first heard that in Starcraft demo on my school computer. I could only do the 1st campain during the 20 minutes I was allowed to play but that made my days.
This cover is so good, you even got the part at around 2:23 when the rhythm guitar starts hitting on the 'off' beats and then they all come back together again for the 'on' beats at 2:40. ahhh so satisfying. And then the bending notes at 4:02 are perfect. brood war music is still top class writing

That's a nice sound on that Les Paul. The clean neck pickup sounds just like the warm woody guitar tone they used for the music for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
Oh man, just got here from terran 3 this is such a good version! Great cover thanks a lot for putting this out there! This rocks! Better than the original!

Honestly StarCraft 2's Terran themes have nothing on SC1, it's not bloody country rock!
I usually listen to harder stuff than prog metal, but it is undeniable that it makes really good video game background music
@@InnuendoXP Nah brother. StarCraft themes are nostalgic and really epic, but StarCraft 2's are also phenomenal
