Raising the prices of products is pretty typical of companies who gain popularity. Because they sell in Sephora and ulta now, they are selling more than ever. They're having to produce products faster than they used to and typically that means hiring more people and having to pay them so they gotta figure out how to keep their products cheap, but also humanely pay their employees. Not only is it about the employees, but their having to produce products at a faster rate meaning they can run out of ingedients and such faster so its going to cost more a year to stay stocked. By raising products by 50 cents it helps to level out these needs.
Producing more products can sometimes actually result in a lower cost per product. It couuuuuld just be about markup. Not saying you're wrong, but it could be either way.

I don't know too much about that kind of deal, but I think colorpop may be paying them both and as big companies as they are I could imagine it would be a pretty penny, especially at Sephora where all the products they have are super expensive and colorpop isn't at that level.
