Great venue you should use it more often and the champ goes very well great video
You can't beat a classic Tamiya! Great to see it running, Glen! :))
Very cool. Just ordered this one!!
Great video G.
Good video but we didn't really get a chance to see it stretch its legs. These did 30kmph out of the box with no ball bearings... not bad for an old 'tank'. At one minute twenty five on the video you lost the front RHS spotlight... Did you roll it at any point? Always love seeing the 'Super Champ' I mean Fighting Buggy again.
I agree with you the sand scorcher and rough rider scooted too, the rider needed needed paddle or studded tire to help it out. My Frog ran really well against the Super Champ they handled similarly to be honest.
Awesome run,,memories,wow.
Nice bit of beach action for the Fighting Buggy 👍👍👍
Ian Ellison
Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
That “free floating progressive damping system” is awesome! A bottle of shock oil feeding directly into the damper! A nice bit of over engineering!
Great vintage car!
fabrizio viscardi
Thanks for watching buddy 😊
Sweet looking buggy, ran really nice fair play
Fatal shock Brynnette
Cheers buddy 😊
It’s as fast as it needs to be . Any quicker and it’d be harder to control. Man this turned out awesome Glenn. I love looking back at older videos I haven’t watched yet, and see how your channel has evolved. Always enjoyable my friend 🤘✌️
Good stuff. Nice to see it out running. 👍👌
RC Hobby Shed
Thanks buddy 👊🏻
Your front right light fell off early in the video. Hope you found it. Great video mate
Absolutely love it!
flynnz
Thanks buddy 😊👊🏻
Looks good in the sand great job on the restoration 👍😁
Adventure Time RC
Thanks buddy although I hardly had to do anything with this one, but it sure was fun to drive 😊
Thanks for watching 👊🏻
My very first RC car and of course I have the re-release. It's more fun to drive off road than it would seem. With Lipo it will wheelie and carry it for a bit when it gets traction like on short grass. There are poly carbonate bodies that fit/look pretty good so you can keep the plastic one for the shelf and not worry about damage.

Great info thank you 😊
Happy TT,nice looking buggy👍👍
James Swift
Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
It’s got some poke! Had to watch with sound off. Watch it later for your commentary. Happy RCing at its finest!
Stephen McClune
Leave the sound off lol, you don’t want to listen to me rattle on 😂
Thanks for watching 👊🏻
Nice, designed for the beach, well that's where they seemed to run them in the old videos.
Bas Boy RC
Yeah then half a day cleaning the sand out of it lol 😂
Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends Clearing out the sand is worth the effort.
And another thing I want to see all the re-releases kits on major brushless motors
Great to see an old tamiya running well. Got my eye on one of these. Do the re-issues rear shock leak like on the original?
Cool buddy and run 👍
ScottzillaRC
Thanks for watching buddy 😊👊🏻

Bloody fucking nice mate!! I love the way it hops!!
VERDUCHI MAN
Yes it’s certainly got character 😎👊🏻
Cool man good video
Void X RC
Thanks for watching 😊
Put a technigold rotor into that silvercan, delete 1 shim, and it will make a big difference.
Old trick from back in the day.
It's not going to win any races but that's not the point, just look at the thing! Great to see it out running in the wild :)!
RCKicks
Thanks for watching buddy 😊👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends Always Glenn! Loads of great Tamiya content. :)
I did limit the downtravel of the rear suspension arms with some zip ties between the SF plate and the levers holding the rear shock.
Very cool 😎
RC Action Australia
Thanks buddy 😊
Cool video. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Tamiya had a Hop Up option Ball Diff for the SRB rerelease?
If not they should 😎
Rcalltypes
Yes I believe they did 🤔
Thanks for watching 👊🏻
Yes, I had the diff, a Losi Black and 7 cells on mine in 84. It was a Beast!
Nice run brother
11CHARLIE RC
Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends 👍🤙
love it
what happened to one of the led brackets?
Very cool looking buggy.
What's a CPI?
Tony Allen
The CPR P100 unit was a built in Receiver/ESC in one, in today’s Tech it’s still big and bulky but back then it was pretty awesome. I believe it was released for the Avante back in 88 where there wasn’t room for anything else lol.
Thanks for watching 😊👊🏻
I'm glad they brought the vintage rcs back
Mark Tomlin
Me too 👊🏻, thanks for watching 😊
CPR will be fine with 2s. I think they could be used with an 8.4 back in the day which is the voltage of a fully charged 2s. Just check though. Buggy looks great
Lee Hurst
Cheers Lee I really wasn’t sure and didn’t want to take the risk lol 😬🔫
2s Lipo & torque tuned motor will give you plenty of performance
if these weren't fun, the hobby would have ended in 1980
hard to turn good with a solid rear axil.....
They are lovely bits of engineering, but they aren't the easiest things to drive quickly, poor steering and very bouncy... but I still like them, and drive them.
Gary Rawlins
Yeah I’m glad I finally got to drive one, kinda felt I had missed out this chassis up until now. Thanks for watching 😊👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends keep up the good work, it's a great channel, your enthusiasm shines through.
The ball joint & a-arm assembly was horrible, it would always blow apart, even with zip-ties.
rob b
Lol Rob 😂
It’s a tank, 1979 that first came out 🤩
Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends i had an 86 model, in 86
Tommy I like you to be on stevo d chats more often and check out tomorrow's new kits for this year like the mini lunch box it's 4-wheel steering four-wheel drive 114th scale and the new Supra kit Toyota Supra kit and the new Mazda 3 kit should take a look at them. And did you sub to me?
Brad Kalman
Hi buddy,
Yes I’ve subbed to you 😊👊🏻
I’m slowing down on this RUclips stuff at the moment but I do hope to look at the stuff you mentioned in the future if I can 🤔
Never had one myself, But it's on the list. Great video mate.
