  • This video present a minimally actuated continuous track robot. The track robot can change its shape while actuated using 2 motors only (3 motors in the current design). The robot can climb over obstacles and pass over objects without touching them.
the robot can be used for search and rescue applications, agriculture, pipe inspection, industrial maintenance and others.
Developed at the Bio-Inspired and Medical Robotics Lab. at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev by Tal Kislasi and David Zarrouk.
Appears on IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters.

With a flexible track it could even flex laterally to turn, would love to see that, keep it up !

thixotic grease.beautiful sprung articulation. articulation with limits so force can be applied against. my robotwars tridentate was planned to self balance vertically .this form factor could do it like a double pendulum with guide wires. the loose chain would form a floor. interesting. length vs diameter , one that could curve up to a C could roll. Great work

This is a single track. If you add a second track then it will be possible to switch direction.

Well.. since you can lift the front and rear you might be able to add a servo or.motor in the front quarter and rear quarter. Then lift the front and angle sideways as it comes back down . Idk if the track would withstand the torque tho
