Love Irish poetry! Slainte!
Happy Early St.Paddy's Day. ☘🍻
The Irish intellectuals are many and great indeed…poets, authors, artists, scientists and not forgetting the brewers are wonderful too 😄😊😉👍👍🍀
...and what a wonderful example of these kindnesses you are for hosting us so generously and welcoming us in to break poetic bread and tell us tales and recollections. Much appreciated Malcolm. Cheers and bon voyage!
Thanks for listening
I suppose the Irish produce so many wonderful poets (and writers in general) because so many seem to die early. Truly the
Leanan Sidhe must be prodigious! Thank you for sharing this verse tonight. I think I will invite my neighbor to the garden this evening for wine and a charcuterie. Good night and Godspeed on your tour.
Your videos and the readings you share are literally enriching my life and even making my vacation even more enjoyable! Thank you so much for what you do!! ❤
You're such a soothing soul to sit and liten to. As your fellow brother in Christ, hello and may the Lord bless and keep you.
Malcolm can I say what a real pleasure and joy your latest reading today was for me! I have been following your regular poetry readings
since December 2021when you read some Betjeman which was great. Since then your eclectic choice of poetry not only ceases to impress but also has rekindled in me a love of poetry which had been somewhat dormant since the 60s and a man called Rod Mckuen moved me with rather corny but well meant love poetry.
Your love of words and the variety of poets you call on to use the english language in such wonderfully expressive and meaningful ways is a joy to me. Micheal O Siadhail is a new name to me but this poem reached new heights in expressing the human connection one with another so beautifully. Well done.
I am not usually inclined to make my views known but today felt the necessity to tell you.
Do keep on surprising us and more importantly enlightening us with even more great poets and great poetry.
fabulous malcolm!! and you nailed the pronunciation "as gaeilge" 😉 - greetings from Ireland ☘️

Would you ever consider a RUclips lecture series on poetry?
I’d love to learn more about how to enjoy and experience poetry, where to start and who the greats are… and I would thoroughly enjoy you as the lecturer.

Maybe it is because I've been listening to lectures and reading about the Grail lol, but I hear a grail allusion weaving through these poems---courtesy like chivalry, the basket, the woundedness at the feast (where Parzival fails to ask the question to restore the wasteland), the Grail King's wound in the thigh, the apple (as polyvalent an allusion as the rose!), how Parzival fails to recognize his kin, that God is his kin (Martin Shaw, The Snowy Tower)???? Wonderful poem even if I'm projecting lol.

I have found this to be a most enchanting channel. My eyes have been opened to the wonderful world of Poetry, to which I had never considered previously. I wonder, if I my be so bold as to ask whether you might create a video on how to begin a journey into enjoying poetry and how to begin writing it oneself.
I'll give it some thought
