If you ever get as far north as Pennsylvania, fish French Creek in northwest, PA in Crawford County, Smallmouth, walleye, pickerel, northern pike and in the deeper stretches, big Musky. It was voted Pennsylvania's river of the year in 2022 and it is one of the cleanest and ecologically diverse waterways in the eastern US.
The Cahaba river can be mean. Ive been blessed to make it off this water a few times and have scars to show for it. One trip down this creek in a new canoe made it look like it was several years old.
If you haven't thrown the zman trd tube in the molting craw color, give it a try. I fish alot of the same type water you fish, and alot of the same presentations you use. It has been an absolute killer for me.
I like the little zman crawls in the pb&j color the smallies and rock bass love em I've never really tried tubes I may have to give them a try as well how do you fish them
@Matthew Lindsey craws are good too for sure. But for some reason I catch way more on that tube, in that color. I put them on the 1/10 oz nedlock jighead, or the 1/10 oz finesse bullet jighead and rig them weedless since they have the wide gap hook. I've been liking the finesse bulletz alot here lately. Not getting hung up near as much
Awesome drone shots, John! One thing that struck me when I watched that part was just how remote you guys are, and if anything adverse happens, you're on your own since any help won't know how to find you anyway!! You had some minor problems, like the paddles breaking and loss of peddle drives, but you figured out how to improvise, adapt and overcome! NICE!! :-)
I have two trips planned with some creek fishing this summer. One for a graduation in VA and I will be right next to the shenandoah. Then I'm planning a camping trip to the ozarks in Missouri. For right now I am trying to learn as much as i can about creek bass fishing. Thanks for the videos!
Nice. I know what you can do next time the bass are almost hitting top but not quite. Use a small craw soft plastic like a crack n craw or any type of craw with good swimable pinchers use a small jighead ahakyt head or weedless jighead. Light weight and just swim that bait either as a buzz type bait or wake bait. It'll work just like a ropwuand is dynamite caus you can cast it through decent heavy cov r plus drop it fast if a fish wakes on your bait. Or you just got a feeling the fish are deeper there. . Also will work with creature type baits. Been killing em this year in the tech. It's been such a cool spring the bass aren't quite up to hitting topwater but they're right and I mean right at the surface. By the way awesome video. I love these creek exploring videos. So cool the background the sounds the beauty. Just awesome.👍😄
#729👍🏻🛶🎣👀 We're currently camping on the California Central Coast (Refugio State Beach). I'm doing some shore fishing this w/e. Had a fun battle with a 5#'ish stingray at dusk last night. A SpaceX rocket launch this morning at 0615 woke us up as we're just down range from Vandenberg. It was a nice, unexpected wrinkle. Time to 🎣. ✌🏼 P.s. #NeverTikTok
That was really cool! It is really neat to follow the drift of the lure and see the take. Those Alabama bass are beautiful and they seem to have a lot of spunk.
Hey I have a question do people care about you I hope so because around here they just don't care. I'm a disabled veteran and they don't care about my views
That was kind of you to share your paddle ***** AMEN 🙏!!!!
Thanks for the fishing John
You got to see the Cahaba Lillies in bloom too! Beautiful river!
yes that was unexpected, there was just a few blooming early
outstanding video John as always..... GOD BLESS and GO KATS!!!!!
I love rivers like that. They are getting fewer by the day .
Thanks for sharing, beautiful place!!! Where's the bubble gum swirl baits, lol? You the man!
18:00 into it and what a Bob Ross painting that view is!

Living the good life.
Try a spook in slower moving sections long pauses and such for spring time fish!
Try topwater between 7pm and sunset. Especially when the water is glassy.
its hard to kayak these places close to sunset, i dont like taking out in the dark
7:21 fish breaks the surface just as you were talking about fishing topwater
haha, i saw that after i made the video
When you gonna do a river camp trip?
Great video buddy! Really enjoyed watching it. Keep smashin it my friend! #CreekFishingAdventures rocks!

Is that the Cahaba River? I've driven over it many times. Have yet to fish it.
Sweet video!
yes
Where at in Alabama that looks familiar
Awesome video as always brother! Beautiful scenery!
Looks like a great time you guys had on that river! Awesome!
This was awesome, were you at the Cahaba River again or a different one. I starting watching Larry and he is fun to watch too🐟🎣🐟🌄

Y'all show me spots in creeks I have never seen. I chase and catch the big spots in the only creek I can walk to. Y'all are appreciated......
Curious what paddle length you're using with that Bonafide ? Thanks. Beautiful stream .
Great scenery and really good fishing. Looked like a really fun trip. Thanks for sharing.
Can’t get that kind of serenity anywhere but on a River away from everything. Super nice video John and Larry. The verses at the end are the best
