A bit miss leading with the comment about excesive use of timber to build homes, one thing that not is stated, timber is renewable, everyone has there sales pitch, by the way I am building a concrete home
Concrete houses are way better.Here in Australia most homes are wooden frame with plaster board.every house I lived in had problems with Possums,rats,and termites.Nothing like a solid house.They've been doing it that way in the meditarrian for centuries.Australians are very hard to convince to a new way.
