@BLINKZeroIllfatedTheFaker i'm not that good with soulslike, but there are multiple "crutches" you could uses in the game for it.
I personally uses STR+fth build with summon ash. but without npc or player summon.
The summon ash greatly helped to streamline the experience. especially that i don't have THAT much of gaming time recently.
@BLINKZeroIllfatedTheFakerthat’s where you are entirely wrong. Elden Ring story is designed to emulate the experience of reading a novel with gaps in it. You are given clues left and right in item description, enemy design, voicelines and environmental design and you are encouraged to think “what the hell happened” and extrapolate your own version of the story.
It might not be for you but the story is definitely there, otherwise there’s no way channels like Vaati can flourish for the past whole decade.
@BLINKZeroIllfatedTheFaker its not for everyone. if you want to get into eldenring, i suggest you start with Demon Soul and Dark Soul first. those two game are much slower and easier to get in to. dont be scared of reading a guide, the game dont hand hold you, so there are alot of way to make them easier that the game dont tell you.

Not so much "calling out" as much as pointing out the elephant in the room regarding the initial release date. He is a gamer through and through. Last year during one if 14's live letters, he entered the the stream with a Switch playing TOTK.
He has also encouraged the 14 community in the past, in order to prevent burn out, to take breaks from the game and resub at their leisure. He is aware that people have other interests (and he will likely be playing too).
An indie souls like Enotria: The Last song also shifted their release date after discovering Elden rings DLC release date XD

Everyone is saying how awesome he is, but it's just basic common sense. Decent games flop because the devs are idiots and release them at the same time as more prominent titles. FF14 is Square's real money maker so they can't afford that. Though a good chunk of FromSoft fans look down on games that aren't Soulslike titles and probably wont play FF14 anyway, Shadow of the Erdtree has been hyped so much it's best not to take chances.
While common sense, you still see this happen a lot.
One example that still hurts. Titan fall 2. What we though was a release date forced bye EA, turns out the director of the game thought the game would still be popular enough even with COD and battlefield releasing within the same month of each other to sell well.
