Your lectures is the best... i have been trying to find understand many topics looking at others lectures but none satisfy my understanding. Ur lectures are very clear with the concept and i really like your lectures... there are also some topics which are not found in ur lectures. Can i suggest some few more topics?

Hi, Sir and thank you for the video.
During an 100m sprint, after the start, the muscle contraction rates needed are high so the slow oxidative Type I fibers cannot cope with this contraction rates. So what happens? We have violation of the muscle fiber recruitment rule which says that first the Type I are recruited, then the Type IIa and then the Type IIx?

Your videos are helping me through all the subjects in med school. I love them!!! thank you so much for your work! However I am wondering if type II b muscle`s fatigue rate isn't high? best regards

Got one question, if i have more type 2b fibers will i be able to jump higher?
Beacuse there is alot of athlete now days that can just dunk, and they say they did nothing, is that beacuse they have more type 2b fibers?

    • @daveyineluctable5525

yes. You have a genetic "set point" "homeostasis" "phenotype" whatver you want to call it, that initialy (key word = INITIALLY) determines your fast-twitch to slow-twitch composition and ratio in every muscle in your body.
same with bone length, tendon length, heart capacity, etc.
Remember, genes contain BOTH the POTENTIAL and the ACTUAL expression of the human being. Genetically you can improve, but there is also a homeostatic set point.
That's what they mean when they can say the "can just dunk". But everyone has the potential to work up to it (within normal distributed averages of course---like if you're 5'5", you must be a muscular freak--conversely you can be 6'6" and be a muscularly weak, but you should be able to dunk even with primarily slow twitch muscles.)

for fast oxidative, the color should be white and not red-pink.

Fast Glycolytic is white according to my A&P book. The info in the video is correct.

      400 m is mid-distance for swimming.
