  • "What flooring should I use for my rental property, " is one of the most common questions we get. They want to know what type of flooring to put in a rental house.
The simple answer would be just to throw some cheap carpet in there, but that is really not the best solution. What we have learned is you need a durable product that’s going to last for more than one, two, or three tenants. You also want something that’s cost efficient. Fortunately, with the technology we have today, the flooring options are much broader than they were years ago.
In most properties, we will replace the flooring with click-lock vinyl planks, commonly call luxury vinyl plank (LVP).
There are 3 common types of vinyl planks. Peal and stick, glue down and click-lock.

Great video! What should I expect to pay for the lvp click plank? Should it be a certain thickness, especially for more uneven floors?

It varies on location and quality. Floor & Decor in Fort Worth has LVP ranging from $1.50sf to $4.25. Thicker the better. It will sound more solid when walked on. For floor that are not perfectly flat you can float the floor with a leveler.
