- I found a 1976 Dodge D-100 pickup truck abandoned some 35 years ago and I think I like her. This old girl has a 225 slant six and three on the tree and I race to beat the sunset to get the engine started and running for the first time in decades!

Brakes are hung up, engine doesn't run but this maniac proceeds to bleed the brakes! That's confidence right there ladies!
hoses rotted on inside
At least there’s no flexy hoses on the rad. Puddin’ wouldn’t know what to do. 🤷🏼♂️🫣
@@troysgarage just rip them things off & go bluetooth, it’s cold so whadafuk
😂
That’s such an awesome response!😂😂
Dude! Opel GT sighting! The first car I purchased with my own money was a 1970 Opel GT. I loved that car. The guy I sold it to completely restored it and showed it until he got too old. Now his grandson has it.
Right when I saw that I thought "oooo, a farm truck! It's gotta have a slant six" and you did not disappoint. No farm truck is complete without 6 in a row. I put a 300 in my 73 highboy about 6 months ago for farm nonsense. Mostly sliding sideways into ditches and backing into everything.
This is the high quality engineering and entertainment I look for on my Sunday nights as usual amazing content keep it up please
I had dodge pickups from 72 to 78 about a half dozen of them. Worked on them in the army. They held no mystery for me. Easy to repair. Took a 75 318 put in a 400 from a fire job. Trans too. 3 holes in the k frame 1 for slant 6 1for small block 1 for big block . Trans mount and drive shaft worked just by using the right holes. Dodge parts interchangeability is amazing
Dalton, you're the best. Came here on a recc from NNKH. He wasn't wrong. Great dad and hilarious content creator. Keep it up!
Thanks!
Holy shit. The mad thrash of this video was incredible. Dalton, you're doing good work.
Thanks!
I admire your tenacity to look at another mopar so soon. I get the grandpa thing, mine had an Olds diesel as the church car. I probably am dumb enough to try to tackle an Olds diesel. It's a sickness
👍and there ya go folks. She lives! Get a carb or kit & the slant 6 lives on. As everyone knows, Ya can’t kill ‘em if ya wanted to. Good video. Thx. 🇺🇸
My dad was a Chrysler mechanic he said I was the fist one in 35 years at the time to grenade a rod thru the block she was wound time lol
Wound tight
I'll take a 300 - 6cyl. Ford any day !
@@jerryparks6123 if I had to pick one, it’d be a Chevy 250 in-line. Respectfully, I’m not a fan of Dodge or Ford. Chevy has never let me down.
Perseverance pays off every time
You are very good at what you do and I really enjoy your videos
That "slant 6" will definitely out live us all!!! 💯 💯 💯
Dude, that thermos is worth alot of money. no joke!
I told him that too
Oops
Appreciate your video as always, I know its gotta be tough balancing work, life, and putting out great content
I don't get a lot of sleep lol
great job - lovin' these 6 IL - very entertaining video - like your engineering skills and endurance - subscribed !
Good go, man! Sometimes there’s nothing you can do in the field. Great stuff, as always!
That truck was only 11 years old when left to rot. That’s a shame. You and Chad have the most realistic channels on youtube. Others that have new parts fall from the sky during a revival just aren’t worth watching.
I’m shocked you went and worked on another mopar
Cheap
Yeah! I sure would like to see part 2 and maybe more!
That was the most frantic revival I’ve ever seen 😂
But yeah, it’s a Mopar, of course it’ll run.
We are going to need more of this truck. It's a runner. Thanks 👍
thank you for every 50 min video you put out. seriously makes the day easier over here.
I don't know how I missed this video glad I found it great video forsure!
Great find, these trucks are so easy to work on
Hope to see more on this truck. I had a 73 w/318 and my Dad had a 74 with the slant six, both were long beds (only way to go). In my 73 the tank was behind the seat.
You are one determined gentleman.
When I saw the truck at the start, I assumed that you were kidding and that you were there to collect something else.
I was soon shown I was wrong.
I cannot get over what you have done and to get it running already. I have the next video of this ready and waiting to watch.
Neil :-)
Some of the best work is done in the dark 😎. It's not fun unless you're laying in the dirt or on 3/4"" blue stone. Not to mention how much fun it is finding that screw you dropped that is vital to getting it up and running again!🤣🤣 Ahh, the good ol days. Makes me almost not want to use the garage, 🤣😂
Looking forward to the next video! Thanks for keeping it real.
We had a '77 D-100 short box. Same faded out color too ! It had a greasy 318, but would smoke the tires at will !
Your kids lucky to have a dad like you. Keep up the good work. God bless your family ❤️
Thank you so much!
Love your videos dude keep it up
Slant 6's are my favorite engine. That & the 22r. I actually like that truck, rust aside. Ty for taking us along
They sell all of the sheet metal you'll ever want for any truck for a good price
Yup
😂 from 43minutes the full mania sets in😂 fair play on your perseverance 👍🏼🇬🇧
Great job! I can’t believe it ran!!
Definitely worth the messing around! Give'r!
Your Methods are just unbelievable. It’s a runner. The slant 6 and Ford and Chevy 6’s are almost indestructible. Maybe not with a sledgehammer under the hood. Got to say never saw that before. Just love your videos. This needs to be a quick flip. Unless your going to put new floors in it. Thanks for sharing and Happy Holidays to you and JD !
You read my mind! We'll clean her up and move it down the road to give someone an inexpensive start on a project
Cool truck. That hole on the passenger side floor is impressively large!!!
Can't say I've ever seen one like it before
I have a 96 F250 4x2 in pristine condition with 136k on the clock, it's got the 6 in a row ready to tow 4.9 in it. The 6s are the best truck engine they put in any car or truck. The drive train will last longer than any man will ever live as long as the oil, tranny fluid and antifreeze are changed very regularly. I use mobil110w30 and mobil1 filter, just a personal preference. If that little 225 is in halfass shape you have a diamond in the ruff. I enjoy your vids alot while i'm hard at work in my shop repairing some of the most God awlful issues any car or truck could have. I'm the guy in my area that people bring their stuff to when NOBODY else can seem to repair it, and i do the repairs come hell or high water, i never let one get the best of me yet.
Those clamps look like something I see VGG use 😉
Yeah, they kinda suck lol
wish i found one of those i love those slant 6 engines..
This was entertaining for me,. thank you.
You better do a follow-up..
I hope the truck is worthy.. cheers
Well she is a runner. Leaning tower of power. Call it the Kidster . Haha 😅. Great save. Can't wait to see the fallow up. Keep up the great work and I will keep on watching
Just started watching this video and already laughing that whole passenger side is a felony hole lol 3:32
0:43 “I hope there’s no VC in here” oh my god!! 😂😂😂😂
Best episode so far !!
It's got potential, no worse than any of your other junk!
Potential is all we ever need
Looks like the perfect field for jeepers creepers to be in
No doubt
Great video…I like the d100 turds truck. Keep it around, PBG shop truck! Patch up the underneath like you do and keep it going.
Great stuff as allways👌🔥😎
Thanks 🔥
Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard when you were showing the passenger side floorpan, placing your hand through stating," I don't know what the problem is" so friggin hilarious!
Thank you for the entertainment. Wish JD was there to help you but kids got to go to school.
Favorite vehicle you've had so far. Dad had a 75 powerwagon, I've had a 75/76 bicentennial tribute truck with a 225/3 on the tree, a 74 with a 318, and a 78 with a 360! Don't get rid of this!!!!
I think she'll be a flip, but at least we can make sure it gets saved
nearly had it, good effort though, cracking job
Awesome video
My dad had a dodge same color as that 4x4 , with a plow , 318 under the hood , he had it for 30 yrs , 2 engines , same trains , seeing this brings back a lot of memories him and I had in that old truck ,,,he has been gone for 12 yrs now .
COOL video!! Just to get that truck to fire up is a win in my book.
Excellent video, I'd keeper around.
The post apocolypse village with Dalton will have running vehicles!
What a fight, good job
The amount of troubleshooting you had to do to get this engine to run, I would have gave up after like 30 minutes, but you’re obviously more versatile about the electrical systems and diagnosing how to get an old engine running again than me .
I really enjoyed this video
Very cool thanks one 😊
I think this Road Toad is my favorite of your clunkers so far!
Hey PBG. Where are you located. I noticed a Wilson Starter Box. That company is in Winnipeg,MB.
About a 10 minute drive from my place...
What a coincidence, I just locked in a deal on a 78 w150 short bed step side with an la360 727 np203 full time tcase.
The patch panels for the cab floor/rockers/mounts/cab cornrs are readily available and aren't expensive either. Safety 3rd!
Dude with a holey goat says "that opel is pretty rough" 👀
Holey goat has a frame lol
I love your persistence! If it weren’t for a few small things that were out of your control, it would have purred like a kitten! That would have silenced all the naysayers!
One hell of an effort buddy for what you had to work with.. I can't wait to see what you do with it and get her driving.. great job. Love all your videos dude. Have a Merry Christmas to you and your whole family..
Thanks! You as well
Nice truck brother I’m been trying to find one for a while now that’s some nice property just need clean up
I watched the video of you fixing this truck before this one, lol, thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you checked this one out!
Dude the roll bar is sick. I have never ever had any good luck with the dodge trucks. They never run or survive with me!!! Had a few never again they just seamed to suck! The little red stepside is cool
Gotta love a good ol revive and drive
Nice New project
That guy clean that place up wow unbelievable
Wow had the marketplace ad saved for that D-100 glad to see you get it. you were or are close to me lol
It was pretty close to me
Definitely deserves a carb, fuel pump and maybe even a filter lol. Damn good episode sir. I can't click fast enough when I see you're name pop up 😀
Thanks!
2:10 wow you actually can't put your finger on it! most people just say that out of habbit but this right here is actually exotic!
You fix cars like i do, all of this is approved!
"If I were an oil filter adapter, where would I be?" On the truck that someone took it to use on because he needed it more than the dead slant 6 stripped down in a field. : ) JK, I'm sure it's there.. what a sweet find Dalton, (I realize this is an older video, but nothing gets you up the ladder better than people watching your older stuff!) Even though the passenger side floor is.. well.. nonexistent, that's nothing a stop sign can't fix!!
Man that thing started easier than my slant six 78 shorty that only sat 20 years. I might have to snag that one up from ya for parts for mine. - Jamie
PBG note to self. “ Book a Tetanus Shot ASAP.”
Could remove the squeeze bulb from the turkey baster, jam it into the fuel hose, then use the turkey baster as a makeshift sight glass while using the old school mouth suction method to avoid partaking in sampling some octane mouthwash.
But if a person wants to go high society type fancy, perhaps a mason jar with two hoses poked through the lid so that the fuel dumps into the mason jar instead of the alcohol intake port while sucking the fuel line.
I had a 78 d100 custom with the 318 sometimes it sounded like your slant 6 there... not sure what was custom about it but you could have passed a case of beer through the drivers side floor pan... kinda like your passenger side.
The devious me says drop the six in the rolled runner and sell it for 2500 and sick the 440 in that truck....mwa haha
I had a 76 state truck with a 318 in it. It run well but had now brake light or lights period! No insurance wrong tag but I just send it. Till I got pulled from a NC state man coming from Lake Lure after a gig up there. So I drank way more cold snacks. Some how I got off from a ticket or being put in jail. I got rid of it right quick!!
that truck is gonna make a good old work truck and daily driver once you get a carb and fuel pump ty for the entertainment
Started to look like the Blair witch project there at the end. Great video.
I was thinking that one clean Dodge truck untouched I should of none the floor board was going to be gone it's prety common on this year dodge to rust out. I would say 90 percent of the all Dodge's IV ever try to fire up have ran and moved with out a hole lot of work needed but needed a good amount to work to run good Iv got a 76 dodge 4x4 power wagon look basically the same . I no it not easy to find parts besides the drive train stuff for it glad to see it's being fired up and not crushed no car or Mopar👍👌✌️💯🍻⚒️
My brothers got a 1974
Dodge club cab really solid
Truck only has 76 thousand miles on it runs good and he drives
It often
Grille is nice!
I was shocked to see it has a slant in it!
I knew a guy that had one around that yr he pulled the slant six and put in a 318.it was a 4spd.
Love them old D100's
Definitely gave it the low budget treatment. Blue fuel is pretty cool though 👌
Performance and de iced
D100 lives again 🙆♂️
That free all , is great 👍
we utilize it too
Enjoyable watch 😊
Thanks!
That's awesome 👌 my 1993 dodge 🐏 looked exactly like that one! 🤣
I had a 383 couldn't sell it for the longest time.i sold a 350 four bolt main a lot quicker and it needed more work.
Nice truck love them first gen dodge
My landlord had a half ton long bed for sale, didn't know it was a rare factory 440 with air, a friend bought it and sold it to a collector in Nevada, it was automatic 2wd in black, 79 I think!
78 was last year for the big blocks in these trucks.
@@tingrilledodgetrucks5988 Thank you for that, don't remember the trim level, pretty high end though!
Cool truck i had a 73 318 auto
