Great video. You're the only one that I've found that shows how it actually worked. My 03 pajero stopped idling when cold, but it wasn't too bad when warm. Turned up the idle screws bit till I found new sensor. Replaced and wound back down idle screw. But now it's sitting at 2-2200 rpm. What will cause this? I haven't pulled off the throttle body off yet to clean out properly.
When mine is hot it's idles up and down and cuts out at the traffic lights in drive, not neutral. Would this be the part to replace? Sometimes it plays up starting when hot unless I give it some foot
@@T.A.G damn... I cleaned it, was very dirty, and I cleaned the mass airflow sensor, and now it idles very high in park to 1600rpm, drop to about 1000 in drive, but fluctuates a bit. From 1000 to 900, then back up quickly. Any possible solution?
You'll need to let it relearn its idle. Once it's all cleaned, disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes. Reconnect. Start the car and just let it idle for about 10 minutes. It will relearn how to idle correctly.
@@T.A.G finally got around to checking this. the resistance is about 31 ohms on the 4 pins. but the end with the spring is thoroughly burnt out. do you have the part number for this? I wanna make sure I get the genuine part.
You think this would cause my Pajero to struggle in the mornings or late afternoons with starting? I have to get it to take and once idling I have to control my throttle myself for about 2 minutes and she is good to go. Its almost as the vehicle doesnt pick up idle by itself and it sometimes fluctuates.
Interesting video mate. The issue what I got in my 2002 Pajero gen 3 diesel 3.2 engine idling is slowing down it's kind of shivering when coming to a stop. You think if I change the this part it's gonna fix the problem?. Thanks,
My 97 montero sport wouldn't idle smooth and would cut off periodically when coming to a stop I removed this valve and spray cleaner up into the throttle body and cleaned the IAC VALVE NOW IDLES PERFECT
Great vid. Been limping mine along for ages by basically using the brake as a clutch when cold. Now I know what to fix.

Thanks very well explained
Hi, I cleaned mine and it worked using carb cleaner.
Is this the same with the 3.8 2006 version gen 3 pajero? I cant seem to find a IAC on an 3.8 version . Please help
Familiar with the 2004 Pajero with the 6G74 engine? I cannot find the IAC, and am suspecting it may be electronic, though the throttle plate.
If it's not under the throttle body like in the vid it is more than likely fly by wire. If fly by wire its done by the butterfly

Before cleaning it the idle was always smooth, at 600rpm in drive.

@@conquerandwin also be sure to make sure there are no vacuum leaks. This will cause a high idle and hunting aswell as poor fuel economy
Is this for diesel or petrol?
my Pajero NM when warming up has a terrible idle. but when it is at running temp the idle is fine. would replacing this part help this?
Grab a multimeter and give it a test it's likely

Likely
Nice vid mate, my idle jumped up to 2000 after changing my iac..
You seen this happen before?
Glad it helped, the ecu will need to relearn its idle, which may take around 10 mins of idling
Would this valve work on a 2002 pajero pinin (japanese version)?
Not sure sorry

The diesel doesn't have this part.
I know with my Triton diesel the suction control valve was usually a problem, especially surging.
thank you

I just searched NP pajero ISC in ebay
Gday, I just changed my timing belt, put it back together, now its runs but no idle
@@johnwhite7779 are you 100% sure thetiming is correct?
