Sponge Dauber for glue, never.. would I have ever come up with that one, very clever…Great tips. I like to splodge glue on my board and dip my piece in it, or if I remember adhesive sheets..Thank you xx
Very beautiful card! I don’t use double sided tape often, your other three methods more. I have Tombow glue in one of those fine needle bottles. I like that glue because it is still sticky when dry and I can use one of those yellow glue erasers to remove all spills. Even though the medium matte dries clear and matte, I still see it which annoys me enormously. Thanks 👍
Great ideas - thank you. I don’t work on a glass surface, but I have a spare white wall tile that I use for mixing pools of glue and paints for smooshing. It’s a lovely surface cleans really easily too!
I never thought to use an embossing folder with label or sentiment sized die cut. And, while I use the Misti glue press for the small die cuts, I also have a sili glue pod and their micro glue brushes that are pretty handy. For the tiny tiny gems, sometime I will squeeze a dot of glue on my project and dip the tip of a craft pick into that glue to pick up a sequin/gem to adhere it on.
I am in awe of your use of glue without getting it everywhere like I do!! I use microdots on my fiddly die cuts or lightweight double sided adhesive with better luck. Thanks for all your great ideas! 🧑🏼🎨😀
I love it when you use dies to demonstrate things that I have the same dies. I have that circular die (also in hearts and stars) and the banner die. It helps give me more ideas. Thank you.
Such a pretty card! Great tips, too. And just in time for me because my Christmas cards I'm working on have some fine, skinny die cuts that I have to glue. I'm going to try some of these techniques vs just putting the glue directly onto the back of the die cuts. Thank you for sharing your expertise again!
As a not English speaker, I didn't know the meaning of the word fiddly, and I had to check it out in the dictionary. I can say Natalie's teaching me cardmaking and English now 😁
I just also bought a glue pen, it's like a biro/ballpoint but has sticky glue instead, (it has a light teal color), you can dot this onto your base or the die cut. and with a little pressure it sticks well.
So I just learned a much better way to stick down fiddley die cuts, thank you! I was using a glass plate, put some glue on it and then use a brayer to pick up and apply the glue. But it was still messy with lots of clean up. Your way is sooo much neater! Before the brayer technique, I used double sided sticky paper before I cut out the die-cuts. But the results were never consistent, I wasted a lot of cardstock and expensive double sided sticky paper.
Liquid glue and I always had a very adversarial relationship before I discovered fine tip glue bottles. I couldn't for the life of me understand why people thought it was a good idea, because I made such a mess with it! 😂 Now I keep my fine tip bottle filled with good old Elmer's Glue and while I'm still awkward with it, it's better and I use it more often on fiddly things. I also will use double sided glue sheets, on foliage especially. All that said, you'll never get me to part with ATG, though! 😁
Another great card Natalie, and some good tips, thank you. I generally use a little fine tip glue bottle, then I dab the gluey die cut onto the back of my hand, to remove any excess.
Most of the time I use a fine tip glue bottle with Bearly Art Glue for fiddly bits. I'm experimenting with some of the methods you use. I'm still pretty awkward. I most often I try placing the glue on the mat and dipping the piece in. Thanks for all your tutelage.😂
Love this gorgeous card! I tend to add glue to my delicate die cuts by dotting it from a fine tip nozzle then if there is too much anywhere, I use a little glue spreader to even it out. It was you who gave me the idea to buy some glue spreaders - they were not on my radar before and now I use them all the time! Thank you so much! xxx💖💖💖
Another card that is great!!! I use my liquid glue with fine tip bottle that has a pin on top. Don't remember the name but I love that top that never gives me trouble. I will let you know the name when I can. Your cards always amaze me and I thank you again Natalie. Such beauty and elegance. 👏👏👏
This is a beautiful card and I really have needed this video. I tried the smear and dip but missed the point of wiping off excess before sticking the bit down and have had splurging. I am going to try it again and use this tip . Now if I can just get my panels mounted evenly my cards are going to be so much better!
Super card, Natalie. I will own up, I steer clear of intricate dies, especially those that do not cut first time. I have several that I could throttle!! I tend to put double sided on where I can but make sure not too much glue if I need to use it. Nothing worse than globby glue peeping through. Yep, I know, it rhymes. 😂 xx
Thank you for always being so thorough in your videos! I caught a great sale on Art Glitter Glue over a year ago, so bought a large bottle. I decant it into a small needle nose bottle for use on intricate and regular die cuts. It is a more expensive glue, but it last forever, so I’m happy with it. If I have a large area to cover with the glue, I sponge it on using a finger dauber. But once that dauber has seen better days, I will switch to the ink blender sponge as you’ve shown in this video. It would be a lot easier with the handle and flat surface area. I love that you don’t have to wash it! Your card turned out so pretty! Another great video! ❤
Thanks Natalie! I'm always pleasantly surprised by the number of products I have that you use in your videos! :) It's great to see what others do with them.
Good morning Natalie. These were all great tips. So far my best technique up to this point, has pretty much been avoidance of fiddly die cuts cuz I've found them so frustrating. 😮 now I have some greatnp ideas which may help me. Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
Hi Natalie. I have the exact same circle dies you do and I've never come up with a nice way to use them on my cards... Now that I've seen yours I know just what to do. Thanks 😅❤TFS
I really love this video Natalie as it is so simple, but just by halving of the circles makes such a difference on the card. I can’t wait to try this. Thank you…. I hope your mum is keeping well and I hope you both have a lovely day. Xxx 😘
I have that circle die it always breaks, thanks for that top Nat. 😢 and my glue goes everywhere wahh. I use cornflour on my die cuts before use to help them release.
Very pretty card. Wish I'd remembered the dauber trick the other day 😂totally forgot! Thanks Natalie and have a beautiful day xx PS have just unsubscribed and resubscribed because I'm not getting notifications! Hope it works x
Hi Natalie May I ask for your advice there are so many embossing powders on the market with a big difference in price , I am looking for super fine clear embossing powder which make would you recommend?Hope you can advise. Many thanks.Always find your videos informative.x
I like WOW embossing powders. I have the regular clear gloss in my big tub and it's great. They do a superfine too www.wowembossingpowder.co.uk/wa01-clear-gloss-super-fine-9511-p.asp
Courtesy of Natasha Foote, to adhere parts of a die cut that are not sticking down, Take a thin (1-2cm, or1/2 inch) strip of paper, place a dob of liquid glue on the end, and swipe it UNDER the die cut to apply the glue and you will be able to adhere the fiddliest tiniest pieces that are not behaving! :)
Natalie, I know you've mentioned it in other videos but what is the brand of the matte gel medium you use, or is that what it's called? I'm afraid I have a lot of trouble glueing and leaving marks. I know I'll get better with practice, but I need all the help I can. 😂
Sorry, I know you have shared before but where did you get your grip mat from please? Viv x x (I just asked this question on a ‘quick note’ but don’t know where it’s gone so apologies if it’s repeated😳 , I’m a bit of a techno dinosaur 😂)
You didn't color the paper first on the leaves because you said it gives a different result, but you colored your paper pink before cutting out the wreath. Could you explain the difference? Thank you..
The wreath is more of a background element and the leaves are a focal point, so I tend to want more definition on the focal point. Also, the wreath pieces are very delicate and wouldn't stand up to being inked after they were cut. Hope that makes sense. :)
I had that happen. I tried a different brand of DS sheets and it worked fine. I now use stix2 DS sheets. You could try adding a shim to your diecutting sandwich to increase the pressure.

Thank you for all the great tips. I love that circle die set, makes awesome anchors for the focal point, one of the favorite's in my stash.
Thanks so much! 😃
Thanks Natalie, great card! I use many of the same ways as you do, I also use micro dots occasionally.
Wonderful!
I am in awe of your use of glue without getting it everywhere like I do!! I use microdots on my fiddly die cuts or lightweight double sided adhesive with better luck. Thanks for all your great ideas! 🧑🏼🎨😀

Thanks for sharing! x
Beautiful card. Thank you for all the tips & tricks on how to glue down intricate die cuts.
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching! ❤️
I did not know there was a proper name for "fiddley" die cuts! But now that I know there is, I shall definitely use the proper namr!! Thank you!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching. :)

Beautiful card. I've been enjoying microdots for intricate die cuts. Otherwise, your method of spread and dip works great and is economical.
Great!
Really enjoyed all your great tips, especially the glueing tips. Thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
Beautiful finished card, and more great tips! thank you x x
Glad you enjoyed it!

Fab!
I use wax paper in delicate dies to help them release easier.
Great!
I use your smear and dip since I saw you for the 1st time. It's transformed my use of fiddly bits 😊

@@nbcascards Thanks!
Sometimes when I'm poking the holes through the release holes in the die the paper pierces. Any ideas on how not to rectify this problem?
You could try placing a sheet of baking paper or wax paper between the cardstock and die before cutting. This makes thd die cut easier to remove.
