I was gonna write up a page about Odessa tricks but this stole most of my thunder... heh :) My #1 tip is to definitely try running it through distortion... even with just a few partials. Also try self-patching the Fundamental output to Tension (through an attenuator). I like that a lot more than just using unison detuning. Or patch to Harmonic Factor with Bank anywhere but noon and you can get all kinds of rough textures that sound kinda like retro Atari TIA engine noises.
