Then, when Heav died, it was a huge blow to our town. Growing up in Mount Vernon when Heav, Eddie F, Troy, Glenn, Pete Rock and Jeff Redd blew up was one of the best times to be in Money Earnin. Kid talked about this incident on VladTv. He said that one of his dancers was always pulling pranks and that he was so out of control that they had to physically accost and restrain him at one point. They didn't realize or was not probably aware that the guy was experiencing psychosis and was most likely a sociopath. For so long Heavy D, Kid-n-Play, and others tried to hide what really happened and felt the need to protect this guy who did this....not sure why they felt that way. For it seemed that this guy was really trying to hurt people. They won't exactly describe how big the trash can was, but if it was just an average size regular trash can, grown men would not run and scatter to avoid it. This guy seemed as though he was really reckless in nature and should have been banned from touring because he wasn't mentally stable.

I remember we were all waiting at the Tyndall Armory waiting for the concert participants and the crowd to appear, when the word came about what had happened to T-roy. It was a sad day for hip-hop & for Indianapolis.

Great run down on the group Heavy D and the boys! I actually went to school with those guys at MT. Vernon High School, and was outside in the school court yard battling with rapping or hitting a table, or desk for a beat! At that time in school I was known as Aretha Bristow’ who played as a freshman on the girls basketball team! Heavy D would be rapping, me and my friend name Josette Brown would switch from rapping to singing a song ‘ like Play Another Slow Jam to out do them ‘ Lol ! But ‘ Heavy D and the boys became famous and we didn’t! Great story!

I was in high school when T-Roy passed. I can vaguely remember the announcement of his death. I know for me, I knew more of Heav than the other guys, but, after this event I learned of the other members. Heav & the Boys were HOT for a good minute back then. Especially before this event with T-Roy losing his life. May T-Roy & Heav continue to Rest In POWER 💪✊🌞💯

"I believe Kwame is the first rapper, to bring polka dot clothing to the rap game. And I remember when Heavy.D performed in 1987, we watched Trouble T-Roy dance, on top of England stadium concert speaker. This was in Chattanooga Tennessee. Days Later, we heard Trouble T-Roy, fell off stage and broke his neck. It happened while they was on tour. I still have all my 80's concert tickets. From LL cool j radio tour, Big Daddy Kane, Salt & Peppa, E.U, Wu-Tang clan, Doug.e fresh & Slick Rick, 2 live crew, Too Short, kid & Play, Eric B & Rakim, jazzy Jeff & The fresh Prince, MC Lyte, U.T.F.O & Roxanne Shante, Heavy D & The Fat boys tour, Whodini, N.W.A, Kool Moe Dee, E.P.M.D, Public enemy, KRS-1 & Scott la Rock, The Skinny boys, Biz Markie, MC Hammer & Oak Town 357 to Ice .T Colors tour. 🤔 Have you ever heard about “sacrifices” for success? Since learning about that, I’ve become skeptical about all celebrity deaths. At first, it was reported that he fell off the stage; then it was a dumpster accident. Which one is it? I’m not saying it wasn’t an accident, but I do remember that…well…Heav starting acting and getting more “career success” after Troy died. We can only wonder what really happened. 😐

Like Aaliyah said in an interview one time that there needs to be more friendships to have! But these days it's not that easy like it was before. Definitely found this story informative but very 😢! Man whoever that was who pushed that dumpster changed hip hop forever honestly & has that guilt forever...my father loved heavy D & i vaguely remembered hearing about the T-Roy story but never knew the specifics...this brother was truly loved & respected. Back when hip hop was still truly fun & you could be goofy without being considered corny or lame.
I didn't realize the impact his presence had & how beloved he was until watching your video. Man I just realized T.R.O.Y was made for him & Pete Rock is Heavy D cousin too.

As a kid coming up and being a dancer in a Rap group. I was definitely influenced by Glen and God bless Troy! Rewinding videos over and over mesmerized by the way they graced the stage. And I can’t forget to mention the way, even being as big as he was Hev was so light on his feet and would not be outshined. He gave along with the BOYZ a 100% through out the show, them alone was worth the ticket price! Moving along , when I heard the horrific news of the passing of one my favorite entertainers , I couldn’t believe it! 😢it felt as if I had lost a close friend or family member! I remember how you could see the pain all over the faces of Hev and what was left of the crew! That’s when I would practice even harder because I was with all due respect going to make my business to dance in his place not replace him how could you replace someone as great he was? But represent and do my best to achieve a goal while honoring a figure I’ve always held in a higher regard! Moving forward, I couldn’t believe it I found myself in the legendary town of Money earning Mount Vernon! Although I held in the excitement I was experiencing, my mind was racing with overwhelming joy! I was actually and possibly walking in the invisible footsteps of individuals I had admired so many times on television. Most of all my long time mentor and teacher Troy! I along with my big brother went to a barber shop but not just any barber shop the great John Harold, located third and Columbus in Mount Vernon. New York on the corner well almost on the corner. That was the place where at the time and unbeknownst to me it was the SPOT everyone would chill and hang out there even if you weren’t waiting for a cut from either one of the masters that would perform art on a eager customer. I would watch everyone leave after forcing themselves from admiring the finished results again everyone , even the hardest gangsters would at those moments wear a pleased smile across their faces where most times wore a gangster grill. I never went wrong with the eventually, barber to the stars Mike Daddy and if I was in a hurry, Mr John Harold owner, and Barbar himself would cut my hair. I always felt like brand new money no matter which one cut it. Then it happened it was around noon on a nice spring day just chilly enough to rock a fly light spring jacket you been dying to show off when you purchased it on sale for the low because it was out of season! I seated by the door taking in all the stories that if your lucky goes on in a lot of shops . Then something for whatever reason caught my attention towards the glass door! Damn now that’s a fly whip, I recall saying to myself. It was a metallic light blue or baby blue SC 400 Lexus ! The sun was dancing off the chrome rims as it pulled up to curb in front of the entrance to the Shop. That’s when I was taken off guard, but more than one reason. See what happened next I just couldn’t logically understand how the person commanding the driver seat looked nice and snug however it just didn’t seem possible that the giant exiting the vehicle look to be much too big to look so comfortable and something so small! That Big person was none other than the overweight lover, Mr. big stuff himself D a.k.a. Dwight Myers! Good people as he pushed open the door to the shop. I was actually starstruck then you will not believe what happened next. He reached his hand out to give me a poem, and said what’s up to me he just gave me a palm and said what’s up, I stuttered and uttered some Type of noise crap from my throat to this day I meant to say what up but it came out sounding nothing like what up and my brother just laughed. He knew how much I admired the man and his team. I never did the courage to ask if I could have the honor and the pleasure of Dancing or attempting to dance for as his second dancer and a little after that I had heard that he would not take on anyone any in the place of Troy anyway and I definitely respect it because again, how could anyone replace such a huge, gigantic, charismatic character, such as trouble T Roy!? Thank you have and the boys for being such a positive huge part of my life one of the happier times of my life rest in peace to family ! Long live Hev and Troy! Thank you those that allowed me to share this with you and for all the errors and mistakes I do apologize!
