In their manuals, Hi-Point recommends that, after you load their magazines, you tap the back of them against your table top. That corrects the misfeeding issue with magazines that are causing that issue.
Rule of thumb with Hipoint, hotter the round the better it runs. The heavy blow back action loves +p ammo. Especially fun in the carbine. Red Ball makes a 20 rd mag for the carbine, that will run in the pistol that is long but fun at the range for plinking.
I sent my mags back to Strassels machine( the parent company). They promptly sent me two new mags, one worked better. At least they tried. I got the redball extended mags and they are unstoppable.
The carbine you have there is quite old. The newer ones have a much nicer stock. That mag you're using is worn out, just get some new mags and it should work fine. BTW, Hi Point also has an awesome warranty so even as old as that carbine is, if its not working right you can send it to Hi Point and they'll fix or replace it. You might consider putting it in a new High Tower bullpup stock.
A buddy bought a C9 for 135 including tax and a 10 dollar box of ammo. He is able to protect his wife and 5 kids just fine. I bought a used 995 at a gun show for 150 dollars. As long as you use modern Hi Point mags it is a great range toy. I read that the 995 is for states where pistols are hard to get permits for, but rifles are easy to obtain. Provided that is true them Hi Point is doing its job offering an affordable option for people who can't save up for a more expensive option. The beer virus has proven that saving up for the more expensive option might not be advisable.
they use to be when i bought mine was 129 but now the over 300 for the new ones. its just crazy. but the run very well as pcc as i said i bought it in 1995
@@pastorclay82 i see you have nice prices. im going to look at a 10mm one soon ill keep your link for it. i usually look all around for best price and if shipping is free or low cost to see where i buy from or if a sales pops up somewhere.
I got a 995 just like that one earlier this year. I even bought two new mags for it and it didn't seem to have any problems with them. They just said you shouldn't use Pro-Mags in them. I think it had to do with the way the first round to be chambered was sitting. The round has to point upward a little bit and they were nose-diving sitting in a Pro-Mag.
I had buddy's that keep hipoint 45 as there 4 whellers and boat guns. They would just spray them off with water when cleaning up then spry the guns down with rem oil or luces gun oil. I know a hog hunter that bought a 10 mm hp rifle as his swamp beater rifle. So far it works.
Have a 40cal version of the carbine that has always functioned fine definitely a magazine issue. Early 2000s production. It will shoot clover leaves at 100yds. Not my favorite but impressive for $179.
Good vid 1shot. A couple of years ago I bought a high point carbine in 45ACP. That damn thing shoots everything, hollow points, hard ball it shoots it all. No jams or other issues. However when it comes to field stripping it is a major pain in the neck OMGosh. I hate that but love the gun. If you want to shoot a 9mm PCC that is a dream to shoot try the Ruger PC9. It is so smooth and effortless. I was surprised. It feeds and shoots everything, no jams and I can keep a 2 inch group at 50 yards.
The newer carbines are great to shoot. Looks don't matter when self defence is the reason to own it. Mine is 9 mm and I put a red dot on it. It shoots anything I feed it. I haven't cleaned it yet. I spoke to a man at the range and he has put thousands of rounds through his and has never cleaned it . I guess that is a good testament to the reliability of the weapon.
I have found that when you clean a hi point it's like you have to start the break in process all over again. Run them dirty with lube, polish up the feed ramp and tweek the top of the mag guides and they're fine from then on out.
My dad bought me a 9mm high point carbine back in like 2001,,i was like 13 and we wernt rich.but i loved that lil carbine, and high point rebuilt the hole damn rifle for me when i sent it in because the charging screw/lever fell out in the woods.peps talk alot of shit about high point but they are a very affordable and effective fire arm for low budget or beginner shooters.
I have the same carbine... replace the mag. You can get an up-dated stock for it. Call Hi-Point and ask for new springs for the carbine since it is rather old.
My High Point C9 is the only pistol that I own that I've never had a malfunction with. I prefer shooting my Glock though because the trigger is so much better. Thanks for the videos!
I don't own any hi points but, I have 3 G2C'S and a G3. They are awesome. Want a 9mm carbine, thinking a CZ scorpion but, Wow, 1,000 dollars??? Probably buy a ruger. Thanks for another great video Brother, Stay Safe and GOD Bless!🙏🇺🇸👍
Christopher Rodriguez I like the 9mm because ammo is so cheap. For hunting I'd likely go for the 10mm or .45, if using a Hi Point carbine... but I Hunt with a .357 lever action Rossi usually.
Poor people!? How about people that just want a weapon that will run or start out on ? After leaving the Navy I picked up a HP 45, this was in 1995 . I still have it and still shot... I love the gun snobs that smile at it as I run rounds thru it.. I now own much costlier pistols (no Glocks I consider it the suburban High Point )
Roger that ! I've owned several HP handguns over the years. I've currently got 4. 2 9's, a 40 and a 45. I've have $430 in them. I've had great luck with them. Like you, I have much more costly guns. But I trust my HP"s. The company stands behind their guns. They are guaranteed for life. No matter if you are the 1st owner or the 10th. They will gladly and quickly send you any parts you need . And, from a prior Army Field Artillery guy- thank you for serving!
You said it had rust on it, If you saw rust on the outside there is a good chance it has rust on the inside. Even cheap or inexpensive weapons need maintenance.
First I saw the carbine was early 2000's? The slide bite from an auto pistol sucks. Ruger made a camp rifle if I remember correctly. In 45acp and 9mm with wooden stock. Spring has sprung in that mag. Take the bottom off and stretch the spring until you get a new mag. Nice video my friend! Keep'em coming!
Actually it was Marlin that made the 9 and 45 camp.rifles. I took a 45 Marlin on a trade several years ago. I ended up trading it off without ever trying it out. It did look like a well built rifle. Wish I would have kept it. I bet they are worth some $ now to collectors.
Well first you're shooting it left-handed and you're pushing in on the magazine release with your finger second you need to oil and clean the gun third you need to take the spring out of your magazine bend it in about five places there's a video it shows you how to bend it and renew the spring and it will work great one of the best guns I own
I’ve never shot a hi-point c9. I’ve shot a hi-point carbine. I’ve had a lot of problems with their mags as well as aftermarket mags. It’s fun shooting though. Good video!
Its an ape gun! Mine runs just fine with factory mags and all kinds of ammo but I did put bends in the mag springs to increase the tension as the rounds tended to nose dive in the mags and then loaded the mags so the spring bends would take a set. I also added foam rubber bumpers on the bases using screws and epoxy so the mags will lock in better. In your case where the round is nosing up and wedging it looks like there is more spring tension than you want. If there is more tension then there is more pressure from the spring on the follower and feed lips so the mag is holding the round just tight enough so the bolt can't push it out of the mag all the way. Just shoot that mag a lot or load and unload it a lot so the spring loosens up. The more you shoot that mag the better it will get as the spring loosens up. Also leave the mag loaded so the spring stays under compression and see if that improves it. Load each round all the way to the back of the mag or else the round may tip up as its being stripped from the mag.
Probably needs to be cleaned. Mine does that after about 100 rounds after cleaning the more you shoot it it may allow you to shoot a few more at a time but it’s just gonna keep jamming every now and then
If the nose is jamming up then you need to pinch the feed guide tabs. If it nose dives then you need to open the feed guide tabs a little. And always seat the rounds by slapping the back of the mag against your palm. Some people bake the mags and springs after cleaning/ disassembling them and polish the feed ramp. It is a 90s model, so I would call HI-Point for springs, guide rod replacements Or you can send it in and they'll make it good to go. They also offer the TS stock replacement for low cost and Redball makes a Hi-Point approved 20rd boomerang. Awake from amnesia Research MudFloods
I bought a Hi Point .45 carbine two years ago. The Damn thing shoots like crazy I don't ever remember having a jam or failure. The thing just shoots and it shoots ball, hollow points and all brands of ammo. I was amazed. Accuracy is amazing also. So yea the Hi Points will do and can do no doubt. The issue is cleaning. Assembly and disassembly is a real bitch and not fun or easy. Cleaning is recommended after 1500 rounds but I'm picky and I clean after every range session. Man, not fun at all.
I've only broken mine down thrice in a decade 7k rnds. All you need is a chamber brush a bore snake and awareness of knowing where it's been. The take down is tedious but not hard at all.

As far as missing with a Hi-Point pistol last time you probably use different ammo and ammo you use this time seem to hit better ,ammo hits in different places.
A buddy and I picked up a pair of the carbines back in the late 90s thinking they'd make good truck guns - nope - both completely died less than 100 rounds and Hi-Point refused to do anything to repair or replace them.
I got a 995 in 2016 had fun target shooting but in 2018 I got a ruger carbine I like it more and take it out with my glock 17 so nice using the same mags for both guns and you a use glock 26 mags in just fine.
I have the same carbine. if its not the original magazine it will jam up. and the gas chamber if not the mag. The stock started to separate on mine from the metal of the barrel and it made the firing pin out of place. Now i have to replace the whole stock
Because is a blow back pistol, it needs to be heavy the slider. If Hi-point change the blow back ejection system will be more expensive, that's not the market of Hi-point. No marketing etc., They go to gun shows and what people say. Life time warranty what could be better?
Fudmottin The instruction manual says the pistol magazines are not compatible with the carbines. RedBall makes a 20rd carbine magazine for the Hi Point
Hi point: Here’s a 10 round mag don’t fill it up all the way tho 6 was enough for revolvers it’s good enough for our carbine. On a side not how many of you have seen the hi point guy that says stuff like “yeah the pistols are kinda crappy but I swear by my carbine”? It’s because they know not as many people have shot the carbine
Craig Daye You may die of dehydration if you're not trying to use the pistol mag in the carbine. Instructions say they aren't compatible. Use the carbine mags or a RedBall in the carbine& you'll have no troubles.
Yeah you got like one of the first carbines get a new one the carbines are favored by more then the pistols but a new carbine which comes in 380,9mm,40,10mm,and 45 now you can get 20rd mags for the 9mm and 45acp for like $25 its made by redball but the most expensuve carbine is the 10mm around $350 or 400 but a 9mm or 45 with red dot scope about $300
I will recommend the Ruger PC9 carbine and the Taurus 9MM or the Stoeger 9mm pistols. The Mossberg 9MM Pistols . These pistols are inexpensive and they are good guns. The Ruger PC9 is a quality carbine with a lot of wonderful advantages and the price is right.
true, the PC9 has to be one of the most better gun and least inexpensive one out there. It just sucks, that in cali its all sold out or the price is in the 650- range.
Great video Jesse 👍 I've never owned or shot a Hi Point before but can't wait for the Yeet Cannon to come out 😁 that'll be my first one! I'd also love to get a 10mm carbine at some point. I really wish they would just make their guns to accept glock mags, that would be amazing. Keep up the great work brother!
I've owned several HP's over the years. I currently have 4 of their handguns-2 9mms, a 40 and a 45. I've always had great luck with HP's. All have been accurate and reliable. I have found that downloading their mags helps a lot on reliability. And HP customer service is the BEST in the business! One phone call and they will gladly and quickly send you any part you need for normal wear and tear. Even if you buy the gun used.I bought my 45 used, for $100. They sent me every part to rebuild it, Inside and out, for free. And thanked me for buying their guns. Just great, friendly service! HP builds a basic, reliable gun at an extremely affordable price and back them up with a lifetime guarantee. No matter if you are the 1st owner or the 5th.

My complaint with Hi Points are how bulky they are for so few rounds. YES I KNOW RED BALL MAGS EXIST! Every time I bring up capacity someone talks about red ball mags. Yes... They suck too... They're still stupidly long and bulky for only 20rds. If they were smart they would used glock mags and put a $10 Pmag in the box with the gen 2 guns but they won't because they want to make money not actually well equip people.
If the company made a version that could accept Glock mags they would own the market when it comes to selling carbines. Even if they raised it by $50 for one that could take either betetta mags or Glock mags they still would be cheaper, new, than any other new carbine.
Yeah their mags suck. If you get them tweaked the gun is very reliable. My son shoots hogs with his and his is very reliable. Yes the old Hipoints don't have LRBHO.
I have to say I like their classic carbine look over the more tactical, cannibalised stock look.
I just bought the Beretta cx4 storm style stock for mine, that's honestly the superior stock in my opinion
They brought the classic back
In their manuals, Hi-Point recommends that, after you load their magazines, you tap the back of them against your table top. That corrects the misfeeding issue with magazines that are causing that issue.
I do that when loading any magazine...
Sometimes I don't push the rounds all the way rearward ..😅
get the "red Ball" magazine for the carbine. both are still under warranty.
Interesting. I had no idea that those existed.
It would be very interesting if they made mags in 10mm

Thundermountain had zero issues with accuracy with the C9. His groupings were extremely tight.

Because is a blow back pistol, it needs to be heavy the slider. If Hi-point change the blow back ejection system will be more expensive, that's not the market of Hi-point. No marketing etc., They go to gun shows and what people say.
Life time warranty what could be better?
Replace/repair that magazine and you'll be ready to take down 7-11s. LOL.
Fudmottin Haha!!
Fudmottin The instruction manual says the pistol magazines are not compatible with the carbines. RedBall makes a 20rd carbine magazine for the Hi Point
The .45 version I had was pretty awesome. you can keep the hand guns.
1Shot, If you lightly compress the magazine top feed lips it will correct the failure to feed problem you have with the carbine.
Carbines are super comfy under the pillow. M4 preferably. Magazine well or hand guard. You could roll your head either way.
I prefer the pcc concussion over the 5.56 + indoors
I got lucky, I got the C9 with the compensator at a pawn shop just another to add to my collection. Go bang when I pull the trigger.
Fun game, drink every time the gun malfunctions!
Craig Daye You may die of dehydration if you're not trying to use the pistol mag in the carbine. Instructions say they aren't compatible. Use the carbine mags or a RedBall in the carbine& you'll have no troubles.
They tend to shoot better after they develop that fine coating of rust.
Yeah you got like one of the first carbines get a new one the carbines are favored by more then the pistols but a new carbine which comes in 380,9mm,40,10mm,and 45 now you can get 20rd mags for the 9mm and 45acp for like $25 its made by redball but the most expensuve carbine is the 10mm around $350 or 400 but a 9mm or 45 with red dot scope about $300
lemonslicewithice 101 Good to know. Thank you.
It's called a 995 9mm produced in 1995
weight of the pistol free shutter?
Are you left Eye dominant?
Hi-Point make good nightstand guns or truck guns.
1shot, have you considered a safer backstop like may at he bottom of the hill?
I thought the same thing, bullets flying off into the sky.
Just noticed your channel signature on the bottom right corner! How long has that been there?
I saw another video and they were having trouble shooting it left handed, their finger was hitting their clip eject, just throwing it out there
I will recommend the Ruger PC9 carbine and the Taurus 9MM or the Stoeger 9mm pistols.
Is that the old carbine or a new one I like the looks of that one
It’s the old one
@@shadowwolf7622 That's awesome! Customer service really goes a long ways in my book!
Hight-point started selling the 10mm carbine January of 2019
COMRADE YOU HAVE THE UGLIEST VERSION OF 9MM CARBINE AN EXPERIMENTAL ONE, TODAY HI-POINT 995 CARBINE IS THE BEST IN THE PLANET NOW JUNE 13 2023, I BOUGHT ONE YESTERDAY ,WITH MY OLD PURCHASED C9 YEARS AGO, THE NEW CARBINE 995 HI POINT NEVER JAMS WITH NEW LOOKS PICATTINY RAIL ,SKELETONIZED BUTT ,ALL PARTS NOW ARE HANDSOME, YOURS IS THE DAVID&GOLIATH VERSION EXOTIC ONE!
I paid less the a hundred for my hi point 40 carbine, kinda cool fun gun.
You could have used the pistol mag in the carbine to see if it was a mag issue!
No the pistol mag is too short wont work in the carbine the carbine mag will work in the pistol.
There are fixes to the mag by tweaking the spring.
I do not know what your rifle is doing but that ugly carbine and the pistol have never had a misfire as long as you use the original magazine.
if you think the weapons look rough...you should see the cave drawings they use as reference to make them...lol
How old are you for saying what you said 1920. I bought one new in 98 or '99
If the company made a version that could accept Glock mags they would own the market when it comes to selling carbines. Even if they raised it by $50 for one that could take either betetta mags or Glock mags they still would be cheaper, new, than any other new carbine.
1999 special
Buy the newer model 995TS it will out shoot the ruger and all other 9mm carbines. When you do these test don't bash the gun test it right.
Just watching this video will cut your net worth in half.
With used Walther PPS and new Taurus around 200, the question is what's your life worth???
Hipoint are cheap but I think you forgot about Cobra. They dont make a carbine that i know of.
Yeah their mags suck. If you get them tweaked the gun is very reliable. My son shoots hogs with his and his is very reliable. Yes the old Hipoints don't have LRBHO.
I’ve got the 380 and 10mm i love mine both I’ve killed a deer with a 10mm
This gun looks nice and I'd like to own it, but now that it's been in a shooting, it feels illegal to own it
