THE SEASON 7 FINALE IS HERE! Honestly, this season didn't deserve such an incredible cap off, but what a great way to end it. 5/5. Thanks y'all for watching! I still haven't watched the full season only episodes 5 and 10 because I can't get used to mortys voice but yeah I'm pretty sure I didn't even think about the voice actors either in this episode, such a good episode
i was worried about the voice acting at the beginning of the season but on rewatch i genuinely think i like these VAs for them a lot better. so many more raw emotions feel communicated in their delivery now in a way that i don't think JR could really do with how he inflects a lot of his lines. it feels more real.
This episode was peak. The way they explored the concept was so interesting and the hole guy was genuinely threatening, that rant he went on at the Denny's was so real and chilling. Not to mention the twist at the end was insane.
When rick ran back and did that thing, i cried pretty dang hard bc it shows that he not obly does he love and care about him, hes proud of his achievements to the point where he doesnt care if other people know how great and strong and brave his grandson is on his own.
The talk between Morty and the Fear Guy went full Bojack Horseman. That really sent me down the rabbit hole. Plus , have you noticed that guy almost resembles Rod Serling from the Twilight Zone.
Fun fact: IIRC, while the Diane and Rick featured in this episode were mostly just products of the Fear Hole, their voice actors have claimed that what we saw of -they’d- their relationship _was_ pretty close to how they interacted prior to her death. EDIT: Grammar.
Men i totally agree, at least a top 5 episode. The twist was just so well tought and executed. Only negative side i see from it is i now doubt a bit the information we got about Diane since Morty knows almost nothing about her but it was all from his perspective kinda. Its just that i was so happy to finally get to know her a bit that it bums me a bit lol 😂 but man, the "hapiness/love" speech at Dennys and also the shot of Rick almost dying but still making himself younger to hang out with Morty hit me hard. But the humor was just as on point, what an episode for real. Also i loved your reaction to the Jerry joke 😂
Back in season 5 episode 10, where evil Morty destroys the citadel, Rick gets his brain scanned and then gives a copy of the scan to Morty to 'view' to fill in Ricks backstory (giving us viewers a chance to see it as well.) Assuming Morty was able to retain that information and Rick didn't erase his memory or something, Morty SHOULD have some knowledge of Diane from Rick's memories of her, so the version of her that we see in this episode may be at least semi-accurate.
Who would jump into the *"fear whole"?* 😱 I wouldn't. Because I know I don't even know what my true greatest fear is. And like Morty, it would take me a really long ass time inside the hole to conquer it 😨😱
My only problem with this incredible episode was, like in a lot of stories like this, there were moments that Morty was not present for. If he was the only one really there, how or why did any of that extra stuff happen? But ultimately doesn't matter. Rick was there for Morty afterwards, still thinking it was a ride, and Morty understood what Rick meant by "define irreplaceable." As in, technically yes but it wouldn't be him.
The season overall is incredibly solid. I don't know if it's my favorite overall, but it turned out much better than the haters were saying it was going to be!
god, such an amazing fucking episode, genuinely left me speechless multiple times, Rick and Morty season 7 really is the resurgence we needed, incredible, and amazing video as always Ever
That was amazing. I really liked this one :D Thanks ever for another great season of Rick and Morty. I really enjoy the show and your commentary! Keep at it! I am really excited to see what will come in the future!
This show has some real stinkers of episodes, then they do something like this which makes me want to continue watching it. Its like a love/hate relationship with this series.
I think this is my favourite morty episode next to episode's one and three in the season 5 honestly I am looking forward to seeing if or how much this changes morty interactions with Rick going forward now that he has conquered that he has conquered his fear of relying on Rick I think that might be what has separated evil Morty from the main Morty so far maybe Now morty might not go down the evil path but he will definitely be able to be more confident within himself and maybe we can even see Rick and Morty working together like evil Morty and Rick in the episode where they both fight Rick I do hope at some point we get to see a proper flashback to Rick's relationship with Diane before her before her and Beth died
This ended up being such a weird season in terms of quality. Had the most bad episodes for sure, but the ones that were good were REALLY good. 4, 5, and 10. 9 wasn't bad but not great. The rest, though? Bad.
A really good episode for sure. One thing I'm a bit upset about though is that it is technically another rickless episode. All the character development Rick seemed to get wasn't even there. It was all about Morty and in the end all it did was help remove a fear he had. Which yes is better than nothing. This was far better than most episodes this season. If 4 and 5 were the peak, this one is just below that.
Tbf, I feel like Rick had a TON of episodes this season. I remember thinking up to like Ep 4, "man we haven't seen a lot of Morty". So it was about time we had a morty adventure. And while I know what you mean, I do feel like Rick was there since the hole knows how he'd behave. AND the lil hug at the end I feel like was pretty significant too. But I get what you're saying!
He didn't jump👀ツ ==> Also ending scene with Morty photo mean that Rick in hole (from Morty mind) would behave in the same way (he ALSO get Morty photos in wallet). It's not always straightforward. "Useful i"nformation in context matters but don't have to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@Hecarim420 ok let me explain how this works. Rick didn't jump. The rick in the hole was an illusion. Thus ANY character development we saw rick achieve here is gone. It doesn't matter what could have been. This means half the episode of building character development was pointless. Did I explain this enough now? I'm not saying it is a bad episode, I'm saying it was wasteful.

I watched the entire episode without thinking once about the new voice actors.
Who cares
Morty still sounds not very good to me
Clearly you care you moron

I like the ending as it shows that Rick is starting to trust Morty's word
Yes! Just a bit more character development :D
and he has a picture of morty in his wallet, that's love

when i tell you the actual chills i got over the twist
lol those ducks had me crying laughing when i first saw it 😂
I swear, I would love for the next two seasons to genuinely end up all being in The Hole and the finale is Morty finally escaping.
I would lose my god damn mind. I would low-key love it too. But people would be SO mad 🤣
@@EversPrimeTimeSome people are going to get mad no matter what, so I hope we'll get the hole plot again, it was phenomenal
Morty was saying button, as in belly button
Which was weird but... I mean, that's the show...
I love that you also appreciated this episode so much. This episode made me feel my suppressed fears in a delicious way. Chills

Imo this is the best season since season 3. I really enjoyed it, especially episode 2, 5 and the Hole one
yup

There's SO many good moments in this episode. I haven't seen anyone say they disliked it. This is a topper of all time for sure!

Second best greatest "Ho my god, I've turned into my dad" joke ever. Great setup. If you know it, you know it XD

subtitles were right, button as belly button... where they had the maggots.
Best episode of the whole series

Truly one of my favourite episodes ever.
