I was at this gig.. I oddly saw them months earlier supporting REM and months later in Cork both nights. I saw a LOT of bands in the Point in the 90s and this was something magical and just on another level. It was the Irish thing absolutely, they were part of us. The Pogues in 2001 had a lot of the same energy, but Oasis for a year or so were on a neverending peak and to catch a band during that time is just another level of magic! Pure Passion and Pride in the crowd that night.
2fm played this gig during Christmas 1996. I recorded off t'radio and still have the tape, but not the means to play it, although played it to death for years, as my car had a cassette player and I had the car til 2010. Now I have it on RUclips. Never found a better Supernova than this.
I used to have the on CD and bought it in 1997 from Camden Market and stupidly lent it to somebody a year later to someone I worked with and never got it back. Been after it again for ages and finally it’s here!! Best live performance I’ve ever heard of them. Thank you!!
Got this CD on eBay along with knebworth for about £60 4-5 years ago, before this was ever on the internet, it was just spoken about in the supersonic documentary so I just had to hear it
Loch Lomond Weekend Saturday 3rd August & 4th August 7 days before Knebworth with Black Grape & cast manic Street preachers supporting was absolutely incredible. The show the outdoor best venue ever & just a great live performance from the band playing the exact same set as knebworth to basically have a gig to perform that set list before they played knebworth but that weekend even Noel says it was one of there best shows ever. Trust me what an awesome atmosphere & the whole production was hugely impressive. Went down in folklore as the one of the best every events along with Stone Roses Glasgow Green 1990. Mani & Ian Brown say that show was there best live performance as a band: spike island was more remembered but the sound was absolutely terrible & Glasgow Green in a 15,000 in a marquee had ears ringing for days: great times for music. ✌️👊✌️
As a very original #MadFerItAmerican, I'd bought the There & Then VHS from a local music & record store that had two locations... Jay's Music. And I've obviously seen the Knebworth gigs at this point... But I'd never heard this sort of 'Irish homecoming' show, which I knew was allegedly perfect, nor have I heard a good version of The Loch Lomond gigs... But now I need only find the Loch Lomond gig(s)! Ty so much for this!🇺🇲🇬🇧
I was there with my then girlfriend, about 30 feet from the stage. What a night that was! I ended up passing out from a crush and being carried on a security guy's shoulder. Woke up at the side, no sign of my girlfriend. I miraculously found her right back where I'd collapsed coz she couldn't get out of the crowd. Missed about 4 minutes of the show :-)

Best version of wonderwall ever!!!
and Morning Glory
Finally the greatest oasis gigs of all time. Thank you nothing beats the atmosphere of them two night. Argentina and Glasgow close seconds
You right, maybe the greatest. Earls court 95, MR 96, some of KW 96, Hammerstein Ballroom 97 were not bad too.
