I always fall for great ideas like this. Spend hours making them only to have my cat laugh in my face when I proudly present it to him, and destroy it in 5 minutes and walk away with a smirk. Thanks, though! :)
I like this pattern because it can be modified. I almost bought the most common plastic cat wheel. Bad reviews changed my mind and saved me $200. They need training to use, but some cats just wont run a wheel. This wheel can be modified to be the right size (4 foot across). I can add my smooth rolling recycled skateboard wheels and a drag brake. On the inside I would glue rubber matting.NO CARPET. Carpet equals a huge vet bill as a claw can get snagged or stuck in it causing a leg sprain or break. In the winter some days are too cold to play outside and here is the remedy for cabin fever. Thanks for the awesome idea!
the whole construction idea is amazing, maybe better wheels with bearings (like inlineskate have) would be more enjoyabe.-ill -tra -t-h--x f-or -vi-deo +
These exercise wheels are so great for cats. At first, they'll sniff around and wonder what they are. But once the cat realizes they can run on them, watch out. My kitty is in love with her wheel.
To make the big circles, use a pin in the middle of the cardboard, tie a string to the pin and tie a pencil to the other end of the sting to trace a perfect circle.
I want to try and make one from an old industrial drum fan. Just remove all of the stuff from inside, and use some spray adhesive to put on carpet. The drum has a curled lip that would keep it on track.
The wheels are failing to torn because their side is stalling against basse sides. You need spacers- washers to move them away. For best results- use wearings.
obviously not every cat will be a runner. but i can see one of my cats or my mom's using this often. i like how it uses the heavy duty cardboard instead of wood or plastic
Great idea!!! For those who like making things, this is a great way to show them how it's done, and how easy it is. Plus, the cost savings are huge! Thanks for sharing! :) 2 Thumbs Up!
they dont some feather toy but it does activate their hunt senses but it doesn't make them like hunt hunt sometimes when you see them catching birds or some amll animal you can see it
Very clever idea to remove one outer layer of the cardboard to make it so pliable for the ring. How is this ranking with your cat now that it's been used for 2 months?
Acabo de encontrar tu canal, excelentes tus trabajos, lo haces ver muy fácil! Intentaré hacer algunos, gracias por compartir tus conocimientos, me suscribo! Saludos dsd CDMX
+sheith Alhabsyi Actually it looks like the cat's weight isn't enough to make the wheel turn when it walks forward. It's a bad design and doesn't work.
The cat is naturally going to think you are building something for yourself (and interfere accordingly), until you finish and tell the cat that it all belongs to him. Then the cat won't care about it anymore.
Cats take a few weeks to get used to new toys! I'm going to try this. Thank you so much for the tutorial!!! Do you have any record of the dimensions you used?
the cat got confused with the dot lining should have been plain, see the response when on the clear surface but when the laser is on the dots shes lost to sight. and it seems the weight of the cat is also a factor, the lining hits the base the reason why it's not moving as it should be. a little adjustment on this very creative DIY cat wheel is all it needs. thank you for sharing will create one and adjust the wheels and make the running base thicker with grey running mat.
Have you ever heard of bearings, spacing, and a bit of precision.there is a limit to cheap when something is too small. it is too small, and when it drags it drags- try again so it is not a decoration but a real piece of equipment. Could have at least used integrated foam block for strut strength.
Btw, to find the middle you take a ruler and draw a line from one corner to it's adjacent corner. Do the same to the other corner and you should have a box X. Where the 2 lines intersect is your center. Yay math :)
How do I figure out the math measurements to make the cardboard wheel? I've got wheels that are affixed to a board. I just don't know how large the wheel will have to be in order to touch the smaller Wheels. Help please ❤️
Mmmm not my 15 and 20 lb cats - the ones that NEED the exercise. This *might work with a LOT more layers of cardboard and glue between each layer to give the cardboard consistency of mdf or plywood.

I have felt your pain… and humiliation.

Hi! Thanks. After drawing the pattern, how or with what should i cut it perfectly? I appreciate it!
Classic cat. Spend hours making new toy - refuse to use it.

You want to sell it?

Thank you, person from 5 years ago. I'll try this!
Should have used in-line skate wheels with ball bearings. They spin much more easily.
Ah ah! This show you the true spirit of cats! Lovely!
He didnt run the weel, but still enjoys it, they know when it was made with love.

Ginger Kitty said NO! lol. Still, this is a cool idea and would be much less expensive than the $600 wheel on the market. Nice work.

This is more entertaining than instructional. I didn't expect to be laughing at the end.
Bearings would be better, the jerking would scare the cat. Awesome build though!
Last time I tried getting my cat to use something made out of cardboard. It looked like there was a party and a piñata was popped when I got home.
Cute, but unstable & will fall apart quickly. The cats are smart enough to sense that. No wonder he won't use it!
Would’ve been a best seller if we at least knew it could MOVE.
Great idea!!! For those who like making things, this is a great way to show them how it's done, and how easy it is. Plus, the cost savings are huge! Thanks for sharing! :) 2 Thumbs Up!
Just give the cat the cardboard box. He'll play for hours! 😻💜🌹😻💜🌹😻💜🌹😻💜🌹😻💜🌹😻
The hardest step in making this is getting your cat to play with it
really likes the new litter box!
It's a good thing you didn't spend a lot of money on an expensive wheel!
It's a bad thing it isn`t roll..
an expensive wheel has ball bearings....and works!
Saludos desde Ecuador, te felicito hermoso trabajo , me ayudas por favor con las medidas que utilisaste para la rueda giratoria te agradezco un millón
Thank you for sharing this idea. I will make one for my friend. I like your cat. My friend's cat is very active at night.
I'm going to attempt this model; however, going to use skateboard wheels
The wheel seems hard to turn?
Get bearings from a surplus store and put them where the rod goes through the cardboard.
they dont 3amt to run on some tired mill they want to hunt live things they want to be able to tun fast and hunt well
they dont some feather toy but it does activate their hunt senses but it doesn't make them like hunt hunt sometimes when you see them catching birds or some amll animal you can see it
There is another video with rolling skate wheels, that is very fast and smooth
Needs a 1/2 HP electric motor....get it spinning!
title should be "cat trolling owners' cardboardcrafts" ...
Very clever idea to remove one outer layer of the cardboard to make it so pliable for the ring. How is this ranking with your cat now that it's been used for 2 months?
Es presioso loare pare mi gatito que es un love
I've been wanting to purchase a wheel for my cats and fosters, but they are so expensive. this is a great alternative, thanks so much for the video
Saludos dsd CDMX
Excellent video and I was gonna buy one but I’ll try this instead. Thanks dude
So I'm in the market for a not very used cat wheel 😂🤣😂
Jajaja como que el gato no quiere colaborar 😅
what would you do to make a cat happy k 2 peyasa ^~^
show me °¿° autame
WTF, no treadmill walk. i want my 6mins back.
Nice excersice wheel i had some ideas to make one for my cats out of wood
4:30 to 6:00
Epic fail!
Anonymous Hacker lol.
Jajajajaja coincido los mininos no cooperan
🤣🤣🤣
The cat too fat to run😂😂😂
The whole design is an epic fail :D the wheels are not fixed and do not rotate.
+sheith Alhabsyi Actually it looks like the cat's weight isn't enough to make the wheel turn when it walks forward. It's a bad design and doesn't work.
Nice place to sleep........
You can take a cat to the water but you can not make it drink... or use the exercise wheel!! 😂
Primeira a dar like o primeira a deixar um comentário!!!!

Fun fact: Cats love to chew cardboard...
:-D
So true. My cat tears all cardboard boxes up for no reason
So, where did you get the parts, how much were they and what dimensions?
The cat is naturally going to think you are building something for yourself (and interfere accordingly), until you finish and tell the cat that it all belongs to him. Then the cat won't care about it anymore.
Un pescador para gatos
Man. This is epic. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What kind of cat do u have????
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤣
Yes room is complete without plant life.

Should've used skateboard wheels and some nice bearings. Thing would spin way better.
Rudy Sanders thinking the same thing
It's interesting that it has trouble seeing the laser on the printed fabric.
Good
Kkk gatinho preguiçoso 😍
Run!!! Cat!!! Run!!!! geezzz
Also, I love your cat! They look just like my other cat that doesn’t need to lose weight (the vet said so)
Nope on the cardboard! It would last an afternoon with my cats...to them, cardboard=cat scratcher
Buen video, saludos!!!!
Why this hysterical "music"?
My cat would look at me in anger being like "Dude, U stupid?"
Oh, yeah. Works great! 😸😸😸
Me encanta, gracias por compartir
My cats would quite literally destroy anything made of cardboard in less than 1 hour. It would be cardboard confetti when I wake up the next morning.
Btw, to find the middle you take a ruler and draw a line from one corner to it's adjacent corner. Do the same to the other corner and you should have a box X. Where the 2 lines intersect is your center. Yay math :)
awesome job
Basically the cat doesn't give a fuck lol
Thank You And me I Love cats
Nice try, but it looks like the wheel is a bit too stiff. It needs to spin more easily if it's going to catch the cat's interest.
Nailed it lmao!😂🤣🤣🤣
Easier to just but a One Fast Cat wheel.
Nice!
Thanks
Would make a great video for Kickstarter: we never see the cat actually run, 'cuz more research&funding needed'
Also, fail ;)
Alternatively an old bike wheel mounted on a board frame
My cat would rip this to shreds. The wheel didn't turn.
Dn't C where it'll roll very well & if ya have a cat tht's a bit heavier than the cat in ur video, the wheel WILL fall apart!
Hay pinche gatito,no valora el trabajo y el amor con que se le hizo😂😂
How do I figure out the math measurements to make the cardboard wheel?

cool
I was searching something like triste thanks:))
Great job! But it looks very unstable ..? Has your cat tested it in the meantime? Is your cat and the wheel still good?
Where did you get the cardboard? These look like custom cut pieces.
Built by a designer: beautiful but doesn't work
This wheel is too small for a cat, should be at least 48 " in diameter.
😂😂😂 come al solito i gatti ne fanno altro uso
was there a reason for using the screws for the axles instead of washers? Thanks.
Where do you get this cardboard at? And it looks like only the right side wheel turns!
Wheel it self by easy moving/turning should animate the cat to run forward. If cats need physical strength to move it,its not gonna work.
Mmmm not my 15 and 20 lb cats - the ones that NEED the exercise. This *might work with a LOT more layers of cardboard and glue between each layer to give the cardboard consistency of mdf or plywood.
Arruma outro gato. Esse não serviu.
Cool!
After all that work... cardboard = 15 minute mechanical failure = junk. Nice try, tho.
Que peninha. Ele não andou.
Nice work. Kitty needs some persuation though. Maybe you should find a way to make it turn more smoothly?
Molto bello.😘😘😘
That thing would fall over and break apart the first time a real cat did any running....
The cat haha
Please could you put measurements? The diametre of the wheels? The size of the support area?
Se meu gato de 10 klg subir aí. .desmonta tudo. Tem que ser em madeira 😂
The thing doesn’t seem to be worth the effort.
Same cats love wheels, some cats don't. This cat does not.
More like some wheels spin and some wheels don't. This wheel does not.
when they make it look so easy.......
