There are other female growlers, but none like Tatiana. Floor's growls are amazing, but it isn't fair to compare anyone with Floor because she is so far and away ahead of the competition.

Since you seem inclined to deep dive, I'd suggest something a bit off the beaten path after that - the "Crowd Factory DVD Trailer" which is a concert performance of one of Tatiana's early songs with Jinjer, back when she was a tomboy with dreds. And there are a few short interview clips with each member of the band at that time and Tati's is great. ;) The best starting point to learn about her is an interview called "Crushing Concrete with Jinjer's Tatiana Shmaylyuk" in Psychology Today. When you eventually do Pit Of Consciousness it will really pay off to have read that. There are some great vlog videos on YT before they started making it professionally and were touring with all their stuff crammed in a midsize sedan, sleeping wherever they could on the road, and quite literally singing for their supper. It makes the later Bus Invaders videos much more poignant. There is a video with Tattoo.com on YT which as a lot of personal stuff in it too. Cheers!

I'm very glad you've been introduced to Jinjer and that you liked them. They're on my daily (or at least several times weekly) playlist and Tatiana changed my perspective on metal growling. I think you will enjoy reacting to the music video version of I Speak Astronomy. The band's songwriting is very creative and their performances are consistently top notch. Tatiana is (and they all are) even better in front of live audiences.

These 2 songs really show off how talented she is and how much of a vocal beast she is. Awesome singer, awesome band as a whole. Eugene is the bassist, Vlad the drummer, and Roman is the guitarist. There were previous members but this is the current band members (Eugene and Roman are original members).

Regarding Jinjer, if you are interested in Tatiana's vocals more than the whole band then I would recommend "Judgement (& Punishment) one take vocal performance". Also, Jinjer has a couple of tracks with no guttural vocals - "Bad Water" is one with a video - but most feature varying balances of clean and guttural singing (and screaming, too). The technical skills of Tatiana as a singer is the switching from clean beautiful voice to vocal fry growling with easiness and perfection that won't "blow away" her vocal chords. And put EMOTION in all. How does Tatiana create that croaky, vocal fry register? In vocal fry, the vocal cords are short and thick creating a very slow vibration. Think of a thick guitar string. If the string is thick, it vibrates slower and you hear a low note. Getting your vocal cords to the right thickness or thinness is how you sing on pitch. In vocal fry, the vocal cords are short, thick and very loose. So the cords vibrate much slower and don’t close nearly as tightly as they do in the other registers. These vibrations are so slow that you can literally hear the air bubbling through your vocal cords. And that’s what creates that deep, creaky sound! Ain't she badass?
One fun fact: most of what you hear is recorded live. There were a few overdubs here and there but for the most part, it's recorded how it was played in studio. It's a cool way to record songs.

They had many lineup changes before and since Tatiana joined (the original vocalist was male), but this lineup has been the most solid and productive. She's got even more tattoos in the years since this video.
The whole band is incredibly talented! This video was made by the band because they had just gotten a new drummer, so they wanted to showcase his chops. I think the video shows him off (and the rest of the band too), but Tatiana's charisma, her incredible vocal skills, and her performance kinda stole the show.

Welcome to the Jinjer fan club. To see her stage presence, watch "Who is gonna be the one", "Perennial", and "Teacher, Teacher". Pisces is kind of a one-off for them. I haven't found a song of theirs that I don't like. Interesting fact: None of the current members of the band are original. They can't even tell you why the band is called Jinjer. I believe they will be as big as Metallica soon. I think they would be already if not for the pandemic.

Her name is Tatiana, on the guitar is Roman, Eugene on the bass and Vlad on the drums (since 2016). She uses her vestibular folds / false cords for those growls, so not really vocal fry or usage / strain of the vocal cords. This song is one of their softer ones, the majority of them have both harsh vocals mixed with clean vocals and generally a great variety within the songs as well as between the songs. They're basically war refugees, coming from the now occupied parts of eastern Ukriane. They fled their home town when separatist / Russian forces came closer, so that they still could make music, and have been on tour ever since - until covid came along. I'll drop my usual recommendations, but I would suggest going with Perennial live at Wacken next. Growling can be very difficult- everyone who wants to do that must first find the method to do it. Otherwise that someone might more or less hurt his/her throat. Tatiana Shmayluk is probably the best growling singer in the world! If you want to see something more from them, then "Teacher, Teacher" by Jinjer is a must! :)

From what I have gleamed Tatiana does not use much of a vocal fry to growl but instead sings with her false vocal chords. Unlike many growlers I can understand what she is saying. She her annunciation is amazing I all her singing styles. Judgment and Punishment One Shot take really shows her singing technique.

Why does this video sound sped up? It sounds like it's being played at like 10% faster speed than normal.
Shes probably sped it up to avoid a strike. Napalm racords won't do a copyright claim (great label!) but sje wasn't to know that.

Welcome to the Jinjer fan club. To see her stage presence, watch "Who is gonna be the one", "Perennial", and "Teacher, Teacher". Pisces is kind of a one-off for them. I haven't found a song of theirs that I don't like. Interesting fact: None of the current members of the band are original. They can't even tell you why the band is called Jinjer. I believe they will be as big as Metallica soon. I think they would be already if not for the pandemic.
No way, but for me, they're more talented, and as much likable. Except for the new Metallica Era, which kinda sucks!

Her name is Tatiana, on the guitar is Roman, Eugene on the bass and Vlad on the drums (since 2016). She uses her vestibular folds / false cords for those growls, so not really vocal fry or usage / strain of the vocal cords. This song is one of their softer ones, the majority of them have both harsh vocals mixed with clean vocals and generally a great variety within the songs as well as between the songs. They're basically war refugees, coming from the now occupied parts of eastern Ukriane. They fled their home town when separatist / Russian forces came closer, so that they still could make music, and have been on tour ever since - until covid came along. I'll drop my usual recommendations, but I would suggest going with Perennial live at Wacken next.

I think that's my favorite way to do song reactions. Let the whole video play, without pausing or trying to talk over it, then just go back and edit your thoughts into text on the screen. It works really well, and we can see how the facial expressions match the words she's thinking. Great job!
Great reaction. All the suggestions are great. But Perennial live at wacken, really shows how good she is live and how fast she can switch from growl to clean like snapping her fingers. I really love who is gonna be the one live. That one really shows how great the band is.

Highly recommend "Who is going to be the One" live performance - she goes very very low!
Growling can be very difficult- everyone who wants to do that must first find the method to do it. Otherwise that someone might more or less hurt his/her throat. Tatiana Shmayluk is probably the best growling singer in the world! If you want to see something more from them, then "Teacher, Teacher" by Jinjer is a must! :)
I would suggest Opeth - Harlequin Forest. They are one of the influences on Jinjer, and a great band.
Perennial Live at Wacken really shows off her singing ability and the band sounds excellent live as well.

From what I have gleamed Tatiana does not use much of a vocal fry to growl but instead sings with her false vocal chords. Unlike many growlers I can understand what she is saying. She her annunciation is amazing I all her singing styles. Judgment and Punishment One Shot take really shows her singing technique.
