I've always been told that the snake chains don't pull hair or of they do, it's not as much as slip chains. Therefore while I was having the problem of my aussie sometimes suddenly pulling forward and a bit of hair getting cut because of the friction, I thought that was just "a compromise" I had to make in order to be able to show (from my experience, more comfortably) on a chain lead. I will definitely be purchasing a slip chain! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with others, I really appreciate it and always look forward to watching your videos. I wish not so many people in the dog show world were so "guarded" regarding information and helping others learn and grow
May i know what length of slip chain will be best for a golden retriever? As i am planning to order online I wont have the chance to try one on and what brand would you reccommend? Thanks in advance
I’m not sure sorry! Goldens have bigger necks than Aussies and it depends on your specific dog and preference too. The only thing I can say is use a flexible measuring tape (like those used for measuring body types) and hold it like the collar around your dogs neck to get the exact size you need.
Thickness is more personal preference. I prefer thinner. Length depends on the dog and how big of a gap you’re comfortable with. I show how to measure in the video
The vendor I use doesn’t have a website with the leads posted but there are others who you can shop online. Most I believe use Facebook. I haven’t bought any online so I can’t recommend anyone specific
Not all are like that but I do buy most of my leads from the same vendor which is why they are so similar. No particular reason other than personal preference! 💁🏼♀️

You’re very welcome! I’m really surprised there is not more tricks of the trade content out there. Trying to close that gap slowly but surely!
Love your videos as always! Your nails look beautiful too. 😍💅🏼
You know it! 😉🥰
Very informative video! Thank you for putting this together, its super helpful!
Ha! Went the whole video trying to figure out what an "Aw-See" dog was before I noticed the channel name. We say "O-Zee" in Aussieland :'D
Hahaha that’s a pretty long one too! 🤪
Hi. What is the thickness of the slip chain collar that you use to show your aussies?
Hi, thank you for this informative video. Could you tell me where you get your bling leads from?
I buy them at shows! Specifically the Paws & Tails vendor in Florida but there are vendors all over the country if you go to a local show.
@@sandollaraussies whoops I thought you were in Australia I’ve managed to find one on Etsy ✨
What material are the braided beaded leads made out of?
I’m not sure 🫣
Where did you get your beaded leads from?
I get them from Paws & Tails, a local vendor at our shows here

Hi. I am looking for a chain for an Australia Shepard but I wonder what thickness and length you recommend?
Thickness is more personal preference. I prefer thinner. Length depends on the dog and how big of a gap you’re comfortable with. I show how to measure in the video
Can you buy the individual strands to make yourself? If so where can I find leather strands?
Yes but I’ve never done it before and don’t know where to buy them.
Is there a site to grab on of these leads?

What is the advantage length of your show leads?
Were you asking for the advantage of having length or the average length?
Where do you get your leads? They're so cute
I buy most of them at the shows! My favorite vendor for leads is “Paws & Tails” in Florida
Do all of your leads have the same 4 strand braid pattern? Is there a reason?
