Michigan here.. owned 2016 and 2018 EcoBoost's and both had major engine problems. The 2018 was over 4 weeks at the dealership while Ford tried to fix it without replacing the Engine. I sold it to Carvana the week after I got it back. Used the money from the sale to order a 21 GT. Been happy ever since with how the GT drives and sounds.
Thank you very much. Im a newb to Mustang (in youth was a Mopar freak). Just yesterday fell in luv and bought 2019 GT, 19k miles, (base trim package) with 470 hp v8 and 6 speed stick shift. Just cruising around the local roads going thru the gears is an amazing feeling coupled with the throaty factory exhaust. It seems the best choice is to avoid the "base trim package" but at least I bought the right engine & trans. Actually as bad as the base trim radio looks it actually works pretty good, just lacks so many options. I need an ipad rig or maybe in future I will get the 4" upgraded to the 8" screen. I turned down a T/A challenger in favor of the "found on the road dead" Mustang, but the world has changed. The T/A was bright yellow and too much for an old guy like me. Mustang is dark blue (almost black) like your car in your video
Which one do you have?what do you suggest if i need a reliable,daily driver with decent mileage that wont burn my pockets and also i dont get bored during weekend road trips.
I sold my car recently, but my car was a 2019 gt premium. If you have 30-35 I would get a lower mileage 2018+ gt premium, gets around 20 mpg and is nice on the inside. If you need more mpgs I would go with a different car imo.
I would like a GT but I’m unsure how it helps for daily driving, so I’m thinking an eco boost used might suffice just to fulfill the desire for manual mustang 🙄
Do NOT underestimate the 2.3EB. They do have a ton of power, but they also can get pretty good fuel mileage. I'd recommend a manual for the EB and the 10 speed for the 5.0. The manual EB is very fun, better fuel mileage, and can be tuned pretty decently. The GT is what it is, you get what you pay for of course. You're getting quite a bit more power, much better torque/hp curve, and more smiles per gallon. But you'll lose fuel mileage for sure.
I had an auto 17’ eco and it was amazing for what I wanted. I daily drove it for around 5 months and road tripped it and it was amazing. I now have a truck that I can drive if weather is not great or I don’t want to drive my manual 21’ GT. the GT is a completely different ballgame compared to the eco. I have always dreamed of owning a mustang but truthfully wasn’t satisfied until I got the GT and I still want to go up in power.

Reason why 15-17 is better for boost is because on 18+ the compression ratio went from 11/1 to 12/1 , which is where the extra 30 hp comes from .

I have a 5.0 and that 6th gear running at 45mph saves you a lot of gas ! I’ve gotten close to 29 mpg on the highway. 21 when regular driving
