Tough conditions, so we all really appreciate you getting some footage of the pre and the match. I wanted to share the experience a bit so I put a bag of ice in the boxers while watching. I felt your pain. Which makes your win pretty special. Huge thumbs up.
Thanks Cameron! You will have a blast. Just remember, it usually takes a few matches before you get "settled" in. Try not to ever get discouraged, just go to have fun!
@@XRING Absolutely. I just want to have fun and learn and get better. Guys like you and rick who are detailing your voyage out are inspiring many others like me. KEEP IT UP. Hopefully ill get into this pretty good and maybe some day our paths will cross. Would be great to have a conversation with yall.
Waking up, to seeing a video like this, is one heck of a way to start my day... This was awesome... I am amp'D up now.. I have several points to rumble on.. A), Those expensive ink dry erase board markers/pens, were working just fine in that 30 degree weather and with the fog too.. SOLD!!!!! B), The electric coat and gloves is a clever deal an I need to dig mine out, I forgot I even had that kit..... CHECK!!!! C), Everybody who competed in this cold event, are some hard core Kats, especially your friend John that thought it was a good idea to roll his rental car, glad he is okay, ....CHECK!!!!! D), Those trophy's are so cool looking, an in your previous video it was very easy to see, that those trophy's had real meaning to you,.... WHAT AN HONOR TO WITNESS THAT!!!!! E), I think finally lastly, you did all this with the BURRIS XTR-3 series scope. What a confidence builder, as I do hear how most say they are very fair scopes, but the second somebody mentions Nightforce, their faces light up. I do understand that as I recently did compare the two side by side at the store and the glass is sharper and clearer in other brands, and knowing at that time I had a BURRIS on the way, which is my first higher end scope package.. I have received it the unit now, and the glass does have a slight darker or brown hue to it, but beings it is my fist higher end scope, and the fact that I do not really know any better, I think this will be a great scope for me and will offer allot of fun. I suppose I can example it Kinda like a guy who drives a Ford Mustang, and beyond the noise it may make, to sound fast, that guy loves his Mustang and thinks it is the best and fastest thing in the world, until his buddy lets him drive his Hopped up Toyota Supra then that is the fast and best thing he has ever driven, That is, until another buddy show up with a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport (Bugatti Spaghetti or what happens to you if you lose control at great speeds of 300 MPH). One thing I realize, there is a price difference on each of those cars that reflects the capability. While it is easy for me to see, if I had the Bugatti, do not have the skill set to handle such a monster of a machine, nor the funds to care for it, most of all, a location and support team to allow me to mash the heck out of the throttle all the way, that wouldn't include risking lives. SO, with my excitement show my nutcasery again, I am so dang excited to have this BURRIS scope, and I am really proud of it, and will run the day lights out of it because for me, it is the best scope in the world, as I do not have the experience to know any better. Sorry, I type novels when I get excited and talk / talk in circles like a 3 year old child... lol... Everybody, do your best to have a good day, I know I am rev'd up and plans to get a few things done.
Great points Dru and thanks for commenting as always. I do read every word you type. I am truly impressed with the XTRIII. It does the job very well and is one of the best scopes out there for under 2K. Still needs to have an illuminated reticle but I heard that it isn't too far away. Thanks again and have a great week.
Awesome sir! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! You got Levi for making you go back out in that weather too shoot! Good on ya! When I watch you get behind any rifle I can tell that you are extremely skilled.

Your welcome. I’ve been following you for a while now. I enjoy the precision rifle content. And the rimfire is a special interest of mine. I won Ireland’s first precision rimfire league sponsored by Vudoo. And won. V22 for my troubles. Keep up the good work
Ray, saw this meme a few days ago: 'To all my northern friends... Your weather is down here in my yard drunk.. I'm gonna need you to come down here and get it.'
Very cool (no pun intended!!) match and great job on the shoot out!!! Thanks for all the tips you give us. I have learned quite a bit just from watching the videos!! Keep up the great work sir and who knows I may actually get to meet you one day!

Congrats Ray and thank you for sharing. Also, my apologies if it was mentioned but what was the prize for winning the one shot one kill competition? Thanks again.
Great shooting! Yeah, gearing back up for the shoot off under those conditions surely sucked, but winning (or losing) via a coin toss would've always felt weird. That Send it level looks like the bees knees for anyone stuck with progressive lenses! You may have cost me some money with showing that off.
Thank Larry! I think I agree with you on that now. However, at that moment and time I did not want to get back out there. The LRA is a game changer for me. I never really look at it. The color is right there so I don't have to actually focus on anything.
Great video - I'm surprised how you can handle the wind with a .22Lr! What is your favorite barrel length in .22Lr for this kind of long range shooting?
Thank you Franz! It is definitely harder than centerfire long range shooting. For example, during the shoot off the wind was about 3-4mpg from left to right at 102 yards to target. I had to hold between .6 - .8 left to impact the steel in the center. My favorite barrel length for rimfire is going to be 18"-20".
@@XRING Thanks for info. I have just shorten the barrel of my old Anschütz .22Lr barrel from 24" down to 17" and it works just perfect. I had on the long barrel a lower V0-speed than with the short barrel. I think the powder of a .22Lr needs not a very long barrel to getting the max. speed out of it - at least that is my experience!
Congrats on the win, and the 1 shot 1 kill. It was a pleasure to meet you, and get to shoot with you guys. Hopefully we can shoot together again in the future. Or at least go to the track so I can get better at driving haha.
LOL! John. The pleasure was all mine to be able to shoot with you throughout the day. Sounds like you made it home safely. Hopefully, we can shoot again another day. Thank you and take care .
