This is by far the best, most in depth review of the Weebill Lab. I just purchased one and this video has been extremely helpful, thank you so much for making this video! ✌️😁
Kjetil Kvien Madsen is by far the most thorough and accurate reviewer that I have ever seen on RUclips (what a RUclips legacy) and I’ve seen over a decade worth of reviews/reviewers. After many many reviews watched about the Fuji X-T3 I found your’s Kjetil to be by far the best. In an ideal RUclips world, google realizes to push you forward in their strange algorithm. I wasted so much time looking for a decent XT3 review, had I found yours within the week, that’s all I would have ever needed. What a beautiful RUclips reviewer legacy you’re leaving behind; I respect you greatly - thank you.
@@Kjetilkm welcome :) generally I have been experiencing the same stabilisation issues as you pointed out. Especially the movement on frame edges is noticeable and very annoying. However, just performed a few test in underslung mode and the mentioned issue is much less apparent in this mode!! Same for you, do you agree?
@@masealwart My finding is that it really depends on how much movement you transfer to the gimbal, and the underslung mode when moving slowly can be more smooth. So yes I would agree with your findings.
Thank you. No gimbal i know has compatible camera controlls as of now. But I really enjoy the stable results with the DJI Ronin S. But it is big and heavy, and only 3 modes possible to pre-program on the buttons. But the app is very easy to use.
Hello Kjetil, great video again. At the moment I use the Feiyutech 6 plus , but with 800g max load it's always at its maximum since i upgradet from x-t20 to the X-t3. Just wonder which of the smaller gimbals you would recomend. Weebil lab looks very interesting and versatile. Would you prefer the crane or ceane 2 for X-T3? Thanks.
Thanks👍🏻 If you use non stabilized lenses, I dont recomend the Weebil. Check out Feiyuteck AK 2000, weebill S and Ronin SC. All (most) new gimbals have the off axis motors, making it easier to see the rear screen. 🎬🎥
Great review, quality presentation. Regardless, I'm picking one up tomorrow to use with the Sony A6400, The portability and the fact that it can also handle small cameras such as the RX100 makes it an obvious choice for me.
Thanks for the full F mode trick! It is not in the manual?! I looked. did I miss it? it should be easier to access the mode. I figure out full F mode via the app but switches back to PF mode after a mode change. I was thinking of using duck tape for full F mode. without have to hold the trigger button :P
Great review. I have a Fuji X-T30 and use a lightweight stabilized XC kit lens and light f2 primes. Do you think the Weebill would be smoother with a lighter setup like that? Most of the combos are under 540 grams. I am trying to decide between this and the new Crane M2. Both seem like they would be easier to travel with than the larger gimbals.
Thanks! I haven't tried it with a setup this light, so I can't say for sure. Do you have a dealer that you can visit and try it out? If you only use a stabilised lens the gimbal is not that bad, especially if you can use in post stabilising in addition.
@@Kjetilkm Thanks. No dealer nearby, but I think I will order a Weebill and try it out. I think it would be good enough as you said. I'm also looking at the Ronin SC and the Crane M2. The size of the M2 is really appealing for personal use and traveling, but the non-replaceable battery concerns me. Plus the upper weight limits are pretty restricting. I really enjoy your reviews. They are some of the best I have seen.
@@Kjetilkm Yes it does. In fact, I think I may wait and also look at the Air Cross 2 before deciding. It is really nice to have so many good options at reasonably affordable prices.
Very nice review indeed. And they are many. Must say i stay confused however. Does the form factor outweighs the downside on the stabilization or are we better off using a heavier gimbal even if less convenient ? I am not a pro, will use on the move and have the xt3 with stabilized 18-55 kit
If you can handle a larger heavyer gimbal, I would recomend something with stronger motors. But if you travel a lot, use stabilized lenses and can use post stabilizing, it is still recomended. Just be aware that your results will not be as stabile as with other bigger gimbals🎬👍🏻
Me to... Gudsen Moza actually reached out and asked if I wanted to do one, but suddenly I didn’t recieve any more feedback.... @GudsenMoza... did you forget me?😂
I'm also using the X-T3 and am currently looking for a gimbal. The Weebill Lab was my obvious choice based on Brandon Li's review simply because the Moza app seems to be utterly terrible. However, after seeing your review and conclusion that the Weebill is only really useful for cameras with IBIS or at least lenses with stabilization I'm curious whether you have any knowledge in regard to the Ronin SC or, if you will be able to provide any insight once the Aircross 2 hits the market presumably later this month. I would've liked the Weebill to work out for the X-T3 but given the amount of manual, non stabilized lenses I love to shoot with it sadly doesn't seem to be an option.
Hi Fabio, I was hoping the Weebill was better than I experienced to unfortunately. I havent tested the Ronin SC, so I cant give any comment. Hopefully I get to test it in the future. I’m testing the Feiyutech AK4500 at the moment, but thats a bigger gimbal. Review comming soon🎬 Cheers and check out the other reviews out there on the SC👈🏻
@@Kjetilkm Despite the Ronin SC and Moza Air Cross 2 I've decided to buy the weebill lab. Given that none of the new competitors support the X-T3 to any noteworthy extent, the Weebill earns itself a try. Both, the Ronin SC and the Moza Air Cross have horrible battery swap solutions compared to the Weebill and with the price drop to 250€ there really isn't anything that could go wrong with it.
Very honest review, this seems to be my experience with it so far as well it’s very handy and portable but for smooth footage i definitely need to use stabilised lenses, sucks that there isn’t any valid alternatives as I just bought a Sony a6400 and was hoping to use this with the non stabilised sigma lenses. Guess I still can but I’ll have to be slow and careful and may need to stabilise some footage in post. I do love the trigger on the back for the follow mode though, very intuitive
Thank you for the review, very informative and honest! For me it is a real bummer, the raw footage with non-stabilized lenses is kind of bad for the European price of the gimbal. Im looking for quick replacement for my Feiyu A1000 which I had for previous compact camera. I have XT3 with the OIS kit, but I want to buy some primes. Do you have any suggestions? I travel a lot, so Ronin is out of the game, I guess...maybe Feiyu AK4500. Thank you and props from Czech!
Thanks, I also wich it would have better stabilizing to, unfortunately. The Ronin S is a great gimbal, it all depends on how smal you whant it. I’m actualy reviewing the AK4500 later this summer, so stay tuned👍🏻🎥🎬
Hello Kvien Madsen, Thank you for a very informative review and some nice little tricks. Amazing filmography thank you for the time you put in in creating such review... I bought mine Weebill lab for X-H1. and just getting started, I already did a lot of research, but few points do bother me, Can I ask you few questions? *As Far as I understand you can't start/stop recording via the gimbal. (Basically every time you want to start recording you do it via the camera, right)? * in your video I see you added and external Handle with a portable monitor attached, can you please tell us the benefits of that set up and how much control do you have over camera with extra monitor? (Ninja V is super expensive - any alternative you could recommend)? * Have you tried controlling camera via Fuji App? Once again thank you for your time and expertise. Vitalij
Thank you🙏🏻👈🏻👍🏻 Dont use the app for video, only shoots in 720p. No control of the Fuji cameras unfortunately, But Fuji has anounced a new firmware in the beginning of 2020 giving some gimbals camera control. We will have to see if the Weebil works after that 😊. The extrnal monitor gives better framing, waveform monitoring, and recording ProRes directly to SSD (easyer for post production) Cheers🎥🎬

Interesting review, though if the stabilizing is mediocre it seems like a pointless gadget. I can get acceptable stabilization just from holding the camera via tripod, and good stabilization with an unpowered gimbal.
Love the size and locks. I have crane v2 now but want something better for travel. Considering ronin s as I hear it outperforms all else. Not a fan of cranes app. Very non user friendly.
Hi Joel. No it is not. I think Fujifilm has a closed protocol or similar, so I don’t know any gimbal that has Fuji compatibility so far, exept maybe the new Ronin SC (havent tested to confirm)
Kjetil Kvien Madsen Yeah I checked it after I read your comment. It’s a good sign for the older models. Need a heavier payload than the SC (especially if throwing on an anamorphic)
Considering getting a second hand Weebill Lab, your review is a great help, thank you!
