@@fishycomics no problem. Thank you for the video
Most folks simply tighten the filter as tight as they can get it with their bare hands. No need to crank on it with an oil filter cap wrench, but you'll likely still need the wrench to get it off.
ever have a filter fall off?
@@fishycomics I've always had tightened my oil filters. Not one single time in 11 years across 5 different vehicles did I ever have my oil filter fall off because I didn't get it tight enough by hand.
If you have good forearm strength you can get a gasoline oil filter on tight enough by hand. Obviously it helps to have an oil wrench or vice grips when removing it, but that's different.
@@iraqifoodcart8447 well I had a filter come off because I tightened by hand and I got a good forearm, to do so, now as i get older and so will you my friend, let me know how that forearm feels down the road straining it, or if torm a ligament or tenant, (WINK)
I had placed filters not very tight by bare hand myself, i usually had put them to where they're tight enough to seal and have a good grip on staying on, but not tight enough that i couldn't remove it with my hand later on. Even doing that i haven't had a filter come off.
However not all filters are made equal and i have herd enough horror stories by now that i just put them on as tight as I can by hand now and then banner wrench them off later.
I have always needed the wrench to remove the filter, even when I put it on hand tight, but then again, I am not some lilly fingered accountant that clicks a mouse or pushed paper for a living, LOL
Nice DIY video! I don't know if you're aware but for the 2023 Corollas, Toyota has made the 2 liter engine standard. No more 1.8 liter engine.
that is totally awesome, thank you for letting me know
2.0 engine is fantastic!
This guy is awsome!!!! Very easy to understand, thank you
Happy to help!
Ahh.. the oil change wizard at it again. Well done Fish.
Yes indeed a coupon has been sent
Everything here is hand tight. That’s it. No need for torque wrench or anything. It’s got a washer to prevent further leaks when the drain bolt is snug. Filter with a little bit of grease will seize and create a right fit.
your car not mine appreciate the comment
Righty tighty lefty loosy!!!! Oil is draining! Clean up !! Everything in my way everything out of my way!!! Hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 but vevy informative! I appreciate it 👍👍
Really Good and Informative Video, like the step by step instructions and also The oil Reset Really Helpful. Better than taking in to Toyota and getting charged an Arm and a Leg. Lol
Change the oil and filter after you have driven it. It will be VERY HOT! So be careful but the filter can be removed easily by hand. Drain plug will losen easily but you must still use a socket wrench for oil drain plug. The heat makes removal easy. Then just put on oil filter HANDTIGHT. Also don't forget on 2.0 engine that REQUIRES 0W/8 oil to use only 4.4 quarts or 4 bottles and a half quart to fill to fill capacity.
Thanks for the tip!
Get car ramps Rhino..best investment
Man that car looks so clean, but what a mess with that oil change always. I am so glad my car has the oil filter on top of the engine, that is a real plus.
may be the easiest one I ever done doing canister changes are also fun to do, but always have to get to the Oil filter no matter where its placed
@@fishycomics yeah with a Toyota you have to crawl under to get the filter. You know they make well over a million cars, and you change every 10k miles. How long does the car last, let's just say 100k miles. That means you use 10 metal oil filter housings times 1,000,000 cars is already 10 million they could save, and that don't end up on a landfill. The paper inserts i have to use in my car are much easier to recycle.
@@mygiguser the canister can easily be replaced wit the paper one and vica versa a metal one, the tool cost $25.00 the change out part $240.00. if toyota rus out of the paper part for their cars they simply place on the metal canister one, and have no loss in sales.
Thank you, Sir
Any time
Thanks for the posting
Our pleasure!
I did all my new car first 500km, that because a lot of small metal at run in time, they are all dark black oil, then next oil change on total 1000km, then total 2000km, this time should drain out clear oil, after should finish the new cars run in !
you don't need very good oil at run in because you shouldn't driving over 3000rpm !
People ride it like they stole it and problem is. They do not care if it runs fast, they just ride it till it dies
@@fishycomics most people ride slow on diesel cars, that why carbon build up ,EGR and DPF need clean all the time.
@@alanw5812 thanks for sharing
@@fishycomics people buy cars should read the manual that come with the cars, it's all write down need to drive higher RPM everyweek to keep the engine run good, if they can read before buy, they won't buy diesel cars.
@@alanw5812 thank you for your opinion
i tried to remove the oil filter with the same tool but its too tight.
I am sure you have the strength to do it. Its not difficult to do,
Great video
Glad nothing was Loose as a Goose a they usually are LOL
Yea....I've heard him say that phrase !
Nice video. Thank you 👌
Thank you too
4.9 quarts = 5 quarts
What socket did you use to tighten the filter? Wondering what size it is
1997 honda crv filter wrench.
Good Job Fish!
like I said doing it blind lol
Where does the new crush washer come included 😂
place of purchase, the shop I got it from
Anything in my way get out of my way 😂
✔
4.5 quarts is incorrect with an oil filter change also. The right amount is 4.9 quarts
If I said 4.4 maybe I meant to say 4.9. I am sure I said one thing and said another, thanks for the correction
Perhaps if Money not an issue, best to change oil every 5000 miles. Engine will last 400K- 500K miles
@@joet4806 the fluids get changed by the MM it is average 3-5k
@@fishycomics Great! Very Clear video! Good Teaching Skills. Thank you
👍🏻😉👍🏻

exactly
Watch the car care nut master Toyota mechanic and he dictates change your oil at 1000 and every 5000 no longer than that
Oil is cheap motors are not
Not even in the same league. Amd would NEVER use a wrench to tighten filter.🤔
Do not go over 5000 miles on the oil change. The engine will thank you with a lot of miles.
Sure I doubled that and will always change at 10K I am not about being premature on it
Oil looks black, every 5k will make your engine outlive you
Lol cars are replaceable, not you
What a messy oil change. You couldn've left it for 10 minutes to get it out as much as possible. Clean everything and put it back. Even the place where filter is attached.
“You” Personaly have no clue channels like this are a dime a dozen. More a 1/2 a dime a dozen, better yet a waste of my time writing.

@@AbidAli-bo8sv with due respect some comments do come off harsh and how we read it, I rather not be rude but when I see a Remar (comment) and get dissed, I should say thank you and move on. so I say thank you appreciate teh opinion, and did not mean to insult but that is life. what to see a group of insulters visit a forum.
Do not do 10,000 mile oil changes. 5,000, 7,000 if you have to push it even with good quality synthetic. No licensed tech would recommend this.
thank you for your comment and opinion
I like to start up top, remove oil fill cap first it helps with a more efficient drain.
@@Cstoreri many ways we can do thank you for the opinion and all
If you use mobil 1 synthetic you don't need to change until either 1 year or 10.000 miles which ever come first.
Amsoil
Catroil
Amsoil not worth it. Just use a good synthetic with OEM filter and change more often
