    Oud Minerale is unlike any aquatic I’ve ever smelled. For me it’s reminiscent of my best days in the Navy. People hate it because it’s so unique, but if you’ve ever spent any real time out in the ocean it’s pretty spot on. 10/10

      First spray I did not like Oud Minerale but after it dried down i started to like it more. On skin it was even better. I'm finding I'm not a big fan of the sharpness of Oud, but this is the best one I've found so far.

    I agree that Oud Minerale is the same as before. Though I tend to think of it more as a clean daytime scent, more than night. Works amazing on a spring day/rainy day. Strangely alluring. Fresh water over moss covered stones is what I get.

    Love it! The only one I tried and was amazed by it is the Oud Mineral. Love the ambery undertones, not sure if I would be getting a bottle soon, but its surely on the list! I did also smell one of the 5 Valentino Born in Roma about a year ago, I think it was the Yellow one, not bad but not too moving. My problem with the originals is that there is just too much vanilla for my taste. The others I'll check out especially the lalique, Prada and the Geurlain.

    No idea why people fight about not doing many reviews of fragrances you don't like.
    What's the point? There are too many fragrances out there, you don't have enough time to try them all and review them all, so it makes sense to review what you like.
    Also, liking a scent is subjective, everyone has a different opinion.
    Just do what you do.

    Guerlain's Vetiver Parfum is my SOTD. Picked up a decant to try it out. I also sprayed one spot of Chanel's Sycomore on my skin to see how they compare. I wasn't excited by the way the Guerlain started off, but after about 15-20 minutes found it was a nice sent. My preference is for Sycomore, though I'm not sure how to describe the difference between the two fragrances. By memory, since I'm not wearing it, I would say that I also prefer Masque Milano's (Homage to) Hemingway over the Guerlain. That's not say I don't like it. It's just that Sycomore and Hemingway seem to have more of a presence (I'm sure there's a better way to describe it). I have a few more wears out of the decant, so I'll get a better feel for Vetiver Parfum.

    Hi Justin, always one of the person I like too see some videos.
    My take on "negative" review videos : Influencer shouldn't necessarily make videos of parfumes they don't like but more about overhyped fragrances that are sh...t technically and overpriced and that just doesn't deserve the hype. If influencers elevate their knowledge, so they can help their audience to elevate theirs too.
    Just an example : Oud for Greatness is a joke. Not talking about the scent here anybody can love it with I am good with that. But is technically BS, no oud in it, very synthetic. Social media hyping it... but influencers probably never smell real oud! Just go smell The Night by Frédéric Malle or the recent Ruade from Parfum d'Empire to smell what a good oud is. And here is what's interesting : I wouldn't wear any of these 2 cause I find those too chalenging. But I can talk about the technicality of the perfumer and here is 2 really good interpretations of Middle East.
    Social media & tiktokers MUST elevate they knowledge about what true perfumery is si their audience will be more aware of what good perfumery is!

    I had the same take on Greenstravaganza (what a terrible name). All of the Romas are just different flavors of candy. Intense is the only one with character to me. Sad that they took Uomo from a Dior Homme Intense competitor, to fighting with annual JPG flankers. I really did not like Vetiver when I tried it years ago because of how fresh and grassy it was. Comparing it to Sultan Vetiver piqued my interest. I like that stanky Haitian vetiver.
    And as far as negativity in reviews, I can see there being some merit to it just to counter the corporate marketing machines. They are inundating us with claims that their new overpriced designer flankers will summon cherubs from heaven to guide us into ecstasy. Criticism of using pseudo-grass roots influencers to push false reviews is a valid concern. We should not be complacent about disingenuous content unless we want to proliferate it.

  • @FrancisFjordCupola
    @FrancisFjordCupola 2 месяца назад

    Negativity is honesty? Need not be; I'd say always being positive is either dishonest or extremely selective while being in a situation where it is possible to be that selective. Which is also a bit dishonest because most people won't get it that that is very situational. I think the word of the day would be indifferent. The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference. What I find rather ironic is that while a lot of people try hard to push everything away from the word "negative" (and thus often towards the "positive") the end result of that seems to be that the elimination of things people might dislike leaves generic products that leave people indifferent. Honestly, I view forced positivity as something really bad and unnatural. On the other hand, negativity for the sake of drama and entertainment... no need. There are better forms of entertainment.

    I don't think you necessarily have to be negative to be honest but it's seems a little disingenuous when a lot of reviewers get a new fragrance and it's an automatic "panty drop, lady killer, etc". Even when it's a series of flankers, somehow the new version is always better then the last version.
