Just want to say thanks! Been looking all over for this type of video. I purchased a 2000 Tahoe and the actuator went bad two days later, but could not find a way to open the door. This worked perfectly. Now I can swap out the bad with the new.
Thanks for the video. Opened things up on my 04 Escalade today using your tricks. Ultimately, it was the outside lift gate handle sticking causing all my problems. Cleaned everything up, liberal application of Fluid Film, good as new.
You saved me my brother 02 tahoe, able to open and rig the button to push window open as well as rig back door handle. Both my window and back door are fixed!!

Thanks for the video , it saved me a lot of time and trouble!!! I removed the entire top inside panel to make it easy to get to until the new actuator arrives. The panel easily snapped off in a minute.
I left a message about two weeks ago my situation is a little bit different than yours I had to open my lock from the inside which thank you very much for sharing this video because of you I know how to unlock it from the inside, once it was open and I press the remote to lock my car it did lock But the unlock didn’t work, strange basically one side and the other side didn’t, today I had to use the car to go area for my truck so I opened from the inside, when it was open my tailgate I started to play around with the lock And I was thinking why it’s lacking but it’s not unlocking, so I figured an idea I might use WD-40 which I did it’s one day now which is working and I’m not sure if he’s going to stay like that but for now it’s fixed with WD-40 let’s hope it stays that way

Just great..... I was able to open the window .... from there I was able to reach the handle and finger the door switch...... worked door opened..... end result for me was the actual door latch one of the latches was rusted tight..... and wasn't unlocking all the way..... oiled it up and it started functioning correctly...... 👍
This is great. My liftgate has stopped unlocking for the 2nd time too. Before i got it fixed years ago I took the entire door panel off and wrote the exact same thing : open window & open the liftgate. But your kung fu technique is better than mine. Been Looking for a way to install some sort of a release so if I camp in my suburban I can get out the back and not have to climb out the side. Awesome!!
There is a A cable that’s more to the right, then there is a lack where you can move right to left that’s in the middle and then there’s like a pushbutton that’s for the glass that’s more to the left, my situation the lack was lacking but you didn’t unlock, so I added WD-40 some reason it helpt me.

Dude thank you! I built a camper in the back and my hatch wouldn't open. There were very few options as to getting the thing to unlock.

Just great.....
