The wrx got a great launch. Both cars are meant for different things. I own a 5.0 fully modded and it handles great, but I will admit my wrx completely stock handles as good and miles better than my done up 5.0. I love both cars though. Great little vid.

My stock 16 GT pulls on stage 2 WRX (2017) regularly. 30, 60 roll, you name it, 5.0 revs longer and over powers the wrx. From a dig it comes down to the quality of launch to see who jumps ahead off the line.
Roll races show how well you built your car, as traction isnt a factor. Dig races show how well you spent your money on an AWD vehicle. (To a certain extent)
I had a 5.0 and now I have an STI. GT was pulling him in... in a roll race, a WRX or Sti has no chance unless stage 2. I have a 08+ STI now and these new GT dudes want to race me all the time. What gives? I love both cars but the lifestyles are completely different. Subie peace all day

@@310chris18 all MT82’s have the 2-3 lockout at high rmps if I’m not mistaken. If you have the ten speed, no. I start generally in 2nd and bump into drive. 5-6 is kinda ugly but that’s about it.

Well, those fa20 engines can handle up to about 400whp with bolt ons and a good tune, it's entirely possible that (if it were in fact making that much) the mustang with a bad launch and the same power would never see anything but the tail lights of a japanese grocery getter
I like both cars, but after examining the video, I can see the 5.0 passed the wrx by the 3rd street light. watch how the gt's lights also get smaller and fade out of sight at this point ,where ironically, the video is cut. because by the second street light that gt was catchin him fast as hell and passed him by the 3rd.
WRX's can take out almost anything in a short race on the street. Especially if it's cold outside or the other car has stock tires. I had a WRX (stage 4+) and an STi (stage 2). I beat Vipers, ZO6 Vettes, Camaro SS, Mustang Cobras, etc all the time in street races going from about 0-90 mph (about an 1/8 mile). It's all about knowing how to launch the WRX properly. Most RWD cars can't hook up worth shit on the street. Doing a roll race on the highway, I'd be killed by those cars. I was pulling 1.6 sec 60' times in my stage 2 WRX. My Camaro SS couldn't pull 1.6 sec 60' times until it was modded and running drag radials on a sticky track.
Usually the WRXs loose most of their acceleration towards higher speeds. Thats usually when the Mustangs catch them. Its the same as the RS Focus, it beats it off the line and starts to loose its grunt at higher speeds, and the Mustang over takes it.

In a roll race, where traction isnt as much of an issue, the 5.0 will walk the wrx. The wrx is better though because its a nice car for the snowy conditions. :)

Let's just face the fact that the Subaru is quicker out of the hole while these other lead sledges (term from the '70s) that might in fact get you with their higher horsepower numbers on the top end but by then you're going 100 miles an hour plus and then there's the breaking and turning that the lead sled just can't do either. My STI reminds me of my Honda 929 rr. He just got to know how to drive it

I also have another friend who sent his STI trans trying to launch it. WHAT REALLY MATTERS HERE IS HOW AND WHEN THEY HIT THE TRAPS. What did the wrx do at the track? My mustang on the stock file ran a 13 flat at 111 in 4000+DA, and I've got a dragy to prove it. Should do deep into the 12s now with my aggressive flash, and a tire. Its also got a nitrous outlet plate on it and makes 570RWHP on the 150. I also have a 12s big turbo SRT4, but it was ALOT more work to go fast.

The Subies are quick up to like 50-60 mph but then the AWD system doesn’t really help much, that’s where the mustang shines.

The 3in jpipe was 300$ and the catback was 150$ to have made. Its pretty loud at cold start. Just a lot of turbo noise after it warms up

Let's just face the fact that the Subaru is quicker out of the hole while these other lead sledges (term from the '70s) that might in fact get you with their higher horsepower numbers on the top end but by then you're going 100 miles an hour plus and then there's the breaking and turning that the lead sled just can't do either. My 2 co workers have new WRX's, and on a regular ass 305 NT05, I can get out of the hole quicker than both. They lsunch like you too off the limiter. I also have another friend who sent his STI trans trying to launch it.
WHAT REALLY MATTERS HERE IS HOW AND WHEN THEY HIT THE TRAPS. What did the wrx do at the track? My mustang on the stock file ran a 13 flat at 111 in 4000+DA, and I've got a dragy to prove it. Should do deep into the 12s now with my aggressive flash, and a tire. Its also got a nitrous outlet plate on it and makes 570RWHP on the 150.
I also have a 12s big turbo SRT4, but it was ALOT more work to go fast.
